How to Repair SAS1 Auto Speed Unit in Seeburg LS2 Gem Jukebox
How to replace 40+ year old capacitors in the SAS1 Auto Speed Unit of your Seeburg LS2 Gem. If you found this video helpful then click the LIKE thumbs up button and leave a comment so others will know it's useful to watch.
Is your record playing too fast or too slow? The auto speed unit controls how fast the record turns on the turntable. Either 45 RPM for a typical 7" 45 record or 33.3 RPM for a small hole 7" record.
As a Seeburg jukebox owner you have learned (sometimes the hard way) that 40 year old electrolytic capacitors need to be replaced because they go bad over time (even sitting in storage for 20 years).
This SAS1 auto speed unit was working ok most of the time but was starting to fail. So I recapped it. Actually a quick enjoyable task. Important to get the correct capacitors ahead of time.
The auto speed unit is actually located in the middle of the control center. You simply unplug it and remove the 4 hex head screws.
My disclaimer: I am not an expert Seeburg Jukebox repairman. This is a hobby. I make mistakes and learn as I go. Always refer to the Seeburg Manual. In this case - the LS1 and the LS2 manuals.
For advice, join the yahoo group called Seeburginformationclub where the experts to tend to hang out.

Reinstalling TSA7 Amp into Seeburg LS2 Gem Jukebox
มุมมอง 95511 ปีที่แล้ว
Simple video showing how to reinstall TSA7 amplifier back into a 1968 Seeburg LS2 Gem Jukebox. Showing how the amp slides in and what wires go where. If this interests you then enjoy! I was excited because this was the very first time this jukebox amp has played music in many years. I had replaced all the original leaking paper electrolytic capacitors and installed a new cap backwards - reverse...
Seeburg Jukebox TSA7 Amp Capacitor Recapping
มุมมอง 4.1K11 ปีที่แล้ว
1968 Seeburg LS2 Gem Jukebox had a TSA7 Amplifier working fine with ORIGINAL Electrolytic Capacitors (lytic caps). For various reasons lytic caps go bad with age and use and it is easier to replace (recap) old lytics before the amp goes bad. I want to move this restoration project from the garage to the gameroom and play 45 records on a regular basis. That means it is time to replace all the 40...

Experimenting with clear reflective paint and different colors. The Seeburg LS2 Gem has all speakers up top covered with original blue painted speaker grills. The grills are made of two pieces of extruded metal with a cloth sandwiched in between. In the middle of the grill is the Dancing Girls Light Bar that shines light up and down on the grills. Trying different colors and also the use of ref...
Clutch Tour ~ Seeburg Jukebox Model LS2 Gem 1968
มุมมอง 19K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's a Seeburg Clutch. Many 1960s - 1980's Seeburg Jukebox Models use this Clutch. This non-technical video shows the clutch removed and I ramble about it. If you are a Seeburg expert, you will find this very rudimentary. However, if you are still learning how your Seeburg Jukebox works and have never held a clutch in your hands, then you might learn a thing or two about what the clutch does....
How Auto Speed Works 1968 Seeburg LS2 Gem Jukebox
มุมมอง 8K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Not all 7 inch vinyl records are 45's. Some are 33 1/3 RPM like the big LP's. Some Seeburg Jukeboxes like this "1968 LS2 Gem" came standard with the Auto Speed Unit which allowed both records to be played. Some Seeburg models had the Auto Speed as an optional purchase. This video shows you how the Seeburg Jukebox Mechanism knows which "hole size" record is being played and the switch that activ...
5 Mohawk Box Back Together.AVI
มุมมอง 20212 ปีที่แล้ว
Day one with the Austin Mohawk Seeburg LS2 Gem. I have it back together after getting the mech working. Figured out the SCC7 has issue so borrowed the one from my Dancing Girls LS2. Fired it up and it actually plays a song - although the arm needs more tension.
4 Mohawk Plays 1st Record.AVI

This is video 4 of the first day with my Seeburg LS2 Austin Mohawk. You buy an old dirty broken 1968 Seeburg Jukebox and finally get it to play it's first record, which happens to be a random 45 that it came with. I checked fuses, oiled, cleaned contacts, then adjusted the contacts which fixed 2 or 3 problems. I plugged the mech into another Seeburg LS2. So here it is playing it's first record....

Drove to Austin Texas and bought a second Seeburg LS2 Gem to help fix my Dancing Girls Jukebox. This juke came out of the Mohawk bar so I am calling it the Austin Mohawk. Hooked up the Mohawk Mech to the Dancing Girls Juke and videoed the first time I powered it up. Here it is...
2 Repairing Seeburg Jukebox Fixing Buzz Symptom 2

When I read Tony Miller's Seeburg Troubleshooting Symptom 2 he talked about pushing down the Trip Lever and "feeling / hearing" a BUZZ I didn't understand what he meant. If your Seeburg Jukebox Mech rejects the record as soon as it starts to play, you want to know how to fix it. This Seeburg Expert named Tony Miller made a website where he explained how to figure out what was wrong. I had just ...
