As a person who ditched Xbox mid 360 era, I kinda am looking forward to when Xbox does ditch hardware (it's coming, I think), and the console wars end from TH-camrs and social media personalities who go hard on it and those who pretend not to be console warring fanboys. It'll be cool to see the console gaming community playing Street Fighter XX together like how the PC community plays together. No kid is going to get the console that doesn't have the next big Naughty Dog or Square Enix mega blockbuster. They'll all be trading physical copies together. Hopefully the PlayStation hardware division and PlayStation store people will feel like they have to fight PC gaming (especially the secondhand PC handheld market) via console and storefront specific benefits. Game studios will always try to 1up their last outing (successfully or not) so I'm not worried about PS Studios' and Xbox studios' games suddenly getting worse.

IGN owns a bunch of other gaming media now.. So that's why. When one company owns 10+ different media companies under it, it becomes irrelevant.

Brad Sams said it best that console hardware is third on the list. Look how they have stepped back from the hardcore Xbox community. You can see what’s coming. We will know soon enough though when GTA6 comes out and Sony have the marketing rights. You think Xbox’s sell little now you haven’t seen nothing yet.

Guys, stop listening to this crap. Pay for gamepass when there is a decent game to play. Most months gamepass releases trash. I paid for gamepass to play lies of p which was a good game, paid for the month hellblade 2 came out which was so boring. Save your money and buy the game of the year games like resident evil 4, alan wake 2 and baldurs gate 3.

Because the gaming media has an agenda and is not fair. It's like the east coast Vs West Coast but in gaming. The media likes to blow things out of proportions which fuels the console war among gamers...

I want someone that thinks Xbox is going to abandon to console to tell me how they will make up the loss of revenue from all those Xbox owners that are subscribed to their services and pay for micro-transactions. A lot of money comes through those boxes. It’s not just the consoles that they would be walking away from.

Gotta be honest, this has to be naive hopium. Phil Spencer has lied repeatedly, especially about it being only 4 games. Whether this portable literally happens, it's smoked. Because why even get it over Steam Deck since has all of Xbox's exclusives D&D, some of Playstation's, and whatever can be emulated of Switch. Xbox appears to not be vying for power anymore, so Playstation can rock with Pro throughout for the full 10 years or eleven years. And GTA6 is a huge catalyst game that undoubtedly sells best on Playstation and SIE likely tied a lot so they doubtfully release new hardware just because Xbox is. Ultimately, like how Switch simply released halfway into Gen 8 and immediately started Gen 9, Playstation didn't release new hardware to combat it. Switch was so successful due to Nintendo exclusive software and novelty. Microsoft doesn't have this luxury.

They want to condition you to not owning your games and being happy about it. They’re not loosing like people think they are but before it’s over they’ll be the villains of the gaming industry

I think the Pro and the Xbox consoles have basically the same problem. Both are expensive and don't grant access to stuff I can't already play on PS5/PC. I should be an easy sell, because I like buying game hardware! But spending money on an Xbox or a Pro wouldn't grant me access to new games to play, and thats a problem!

I have to say, some of gaming fans are absolutely clueless. You guys do realize that the FTC is still closely watching Microsoft and will use any words agaianst them in another round of litigation right? If they start going off and acting like they want to enforce exclusives and put Sony out of business, the FTC will use that against them, especially given the fact Microsoft want to still do more acquisitions of other companies. Hell the FTC wants to sue Microsoft again in regards to the Activision deal because the chairwoman still feels it gives Microsoft way too much power over Sony (despite the fact Sony has more equity across more companies and she has absolutely no problem with Siny acquiring companies and growing their market share) Microaoft wants to make sure they push an image if being a console for everyone, while still being able to make moves they want to do in silence. Remember that even provate conversations and emails in which the heads of Microsoft literally said they want to put Sony out of business were also revealed in court. Because of all that, you arent gonna het the console war headlines of either company anymore, its not a smart business diecison

If there was a way to devalue the xbox console in a way where it makes the product irrelevant outside of loyalty to a trillion dollar corp, Microsoft games did it. xb consoles feel as useful as a Zune now. A decent pc now will be better than whatever is planned for "next gen" for xb console.

In relation to the PS5 Pro being the best place to play for 1 and a half to 2 years?....where on earth is that coming from. At the very, very best timescale you would be looking at a holiday 2026 release for new hardware. That's 2 years.....and you go up from there. Spencer has already said the handheld is a few years away. That'll probably be a second skew to a next gen console. So in reality you are looking at an absolute minimum of two years.....and in reality possibly 3 or 4. Stop with the sugar coating and copium. There is nothing happening in 1 and half years...absolutely nothing.

I don't think its smart at this point to have any loyalty to any company anymore. Just play on the system you like, and if what you like changes, just go with the flow. I've had and played all consoles over the and a couple different PCs and I liked them all differently. But now everything kinda blends together. I don't look at it as me investing in anything, their just machines to play the games on. The last time I felt attached to any of my systems was back when I got my first x360.

Options are GOOOD. I like consoles, I like PCs and handhelds. I think it's good that I can play the same game on all of them and not have to buy it multiple times.. I also don't give a shit who plays the games. There shouldn't be exclusives anyway. The only people that benefit from that is the platform holder. I find it hilarious how many people have been brainwashed into thinking that it has some core benefit to them as a consumer.

I think the Handheld is ready, in my opinion i think they are being smart and seeing if it’s just a fade that will pass. They’re not like Sony just releasing Hardware cause there fans eat it up like the portal , VR2 exc. lets be real the Handheld PC Market has kinda slowed down i rarely hear anything from the ROG ally or even Steam deck for that matter

Xbox leadership has said many things over the last several years that turned out to be not true. Anything they say just cannot be believed anymore. The trust is gone. The best thing they can do is just stop talking.

LOL ) SO for 3 last of us remastered games you have a full year of more choices than I'll EVER have time to play....plus discounts plus carry progress over to a windows handheld or gaming PC beast"...🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️...I actually hope they drop more AAA games and ask another few $$ for gamepass ultimate it's still better😂

at the moment I go on COD and all I see is Xbox logos for the multiplayer people, this may be anecdotal or it may mainly be PC gamepass but I think that the more people on Game Pass the more Likely they are to support console as it is the avenue for game pass

Addict what's funny is about 3 years ago at least Phil Spencer clearly said that they will be making multiple consoles into the future when asked if Xbox will still be making consoles.
