Great info - but would be great if you could say what buttons you are pressing as you press them - otherwise I find it a little confusing
Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes when I'm into recording I tend to forget that people might not be familiar with the gear or certain techniques but I'll try to be more mindful. Thanks again and Happy New year 👍
@@whatsthatnoiseethanks for responding .... any thoughts on using the Mini v the full size Tracker Plus ? Also have you used the Polyend Play Plus and if so do you think they are a good match ?
Can you edit start/end points of Vocal tracks on Verselab?
Yes, you can
In my Ears it sound so bad. Go to Hell....

Yes but for some reason it's skipping some of the stations. I find the wheel more precise.

Indeed. Synth tracks in combination with MIDI and samples open entirely new possibilities 😁.

Dziękuję kochanie ❤️🔥
Interesting Desktop synth
How about sampling local radio and making an entire track with chops and vocals?
Idea is good but in my case it would be difficult to execute. My local radio is garbage! I'm clearly picking up only 3 stations... In the 2 of them is mostly talk and playing 4 trashy pop songs on repeat. And the third one is classical music so just fishing for good samples would take me ages. And another thing is that the video would have to be heavily edited to avoid copyright infringement and flagging. But the concept is good. I might try do it in the future, make a beat and then break it down in a TH-cam video. Thanks 👍
LMAO dude the only fan joke. Thanks for this.
Glad that you like it! 😁
Where are the OSC tune and fine tune ? 🤨. I realize this engine stacks OSC with detuning under one control but both these (ACD &FAT) engines you cover seem to not offer fine tuning?? (do you have to sacrifice and input micro tune step fx on everything if you're not playing 440hz? Geez .OCS tunings are absolutely core VIP on any synth) do tell me that tuning options are somewhere to be found.🙏 Thx!
Tune, fine tune and detune is available in VAP. In WTFM you also have fine tune but tune is replaced by "ratio" because it's an FM engine. VAP offers the typical 2 OSC subtractive synth options with mix and sync options for example. But each of 2 OSC have their own envelope and LFO. WTFM offers feedback instead. Each engine is different and the last 2 are way more advanced than ACD or FAT. So no, you don't have to sacrifice step FX for tune or fine tune but only if you'll use VAP or WTFM. I'll try to demonstrate it in the next video. Thanks for the message!
Really cool and informative video! 👍
Thanks! You have a nice channel as well :)
Tuning in ,with synth update

Thank you for sharing, it helps me a lot
You're welcome!
Thankfully, someone will go through the synth engines. I was trying to listen to the synth patches, but I couldn’t find them anywhere. If you could kindly go through 10 or 20 patches per synth quickly, just to give us an idea of how they sound, it would be amazing! Keep up the excellent work!
You got it! It might take me a few days to upload it because of life responsibilities and I'll try to deep dive into each one of them to make it comprehensive. Thanks for the feedback 🙌
@@whatsthatnoisee thanks for the reply! keep it going
There is a demo video of all the stock synths presets. It's called 'Polyend Play + All Synth Preset Sounds. (No Talking)' The Tracker+ has the same synths engines and patches as Play+ has.
@@CuriousPassenger really appreciate it 👌
Great explanation, thanks !
You're welcome!
How’s it going ? Once again amazing job on verselab vids. im using song mode to record synths using vocal track, for some reason in the sequence mode the transition isn’t smooth. There’s a clip sound that happens when my recorded synths goes to the next section. Would you happen to know why ?
I assume that problem occurs when you playback recorded samples on other than vocal track. On vocal track it should be smooth because it's timeline not grid based and not affected by pattern changes. But more likely your sample isn't clear on the start or end of the sample (not in 0 position during transition to another clip). If that's the case you could try to edit the start or end point of the sample, or adjust the envelope on attack and release.
Such a beautiful work with adding as you go along more tones and sequences. Peaceful to relax too. Thank you for posting.
Thank you. I really encourage people to master their gear because you can do a lot of great music with just one Volca for example.
@@whatsthatnoisee Do agree to explore more fully what can be done with each piece of gear. I've been doing this with the gear I have and it's rather amazing the results.
Great tutorial. How to download download original Soundpacks and sounds from ZenBeats/ Zenology Pro and install on Mv1?
The original sounds are in Verselab by default. You can also download sound packs from Roland Cloud and just copy/paste to your SD card. Or create/edit your own with Zenology Pro and save as yours. I made a wideo about it as well th-cam.com/video/wdvz2gc6R9g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Qr0HqGrGL2l0rZ-R
Good practical info.. Thanks
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the content! Quick question! I'm thinking of buying a Verselab, but Im hesitant since one can use it with zenbeats and it complements as a screen, I feel like using the Zenbeats alone it's enough and the verselab ending up being an expensive controller. What do you think about it?
It all comes down to the workflow and question... Do you really need it or do you just want it? I ask myself the exact question every time because budget is a thing unfortunately. But Verselab is way more than just an expensive controller for sure, it's really close to the "studio in the box" description taking into account that it can serve also as an audio interface with phantom power and you can directly record separate tracks as steams including line in or built in microphone. I assume that you are already using Zenbeats as your DAW so you can find a great MIDI controller with more macro controls as well for much less but the problem with MIDI controllers is that they don't hold the resale value at all! It also depends on what type of music you want to make because chopping samples on it is really bad and controlling other external gear through MIDI is limited to 7 channels at the expense of your tracks. In conclusion I would say go for it if you want to use it more as a standalone groovebox with some occasional assistance of DAW. If you're looking for some good controller to your DAW and you don't want to sacrifice the big screen then you could probably find something better for this role. You can also check my other videos with Verselab and Zenbeats integrated to have a better look at what it can or can't do. Thanks
Good point! I have a hybrid setup (couple of hardware synths, being sequenced in Ableton) I do jams and structured songs, both that way. I want something that I can use anywhere in my apartment or even In a coffee shop. Having said that I don't need it to be honest, but I want to have a machine for using outside of my regular setup. Did I answer your question?
@@yodycastro For that reason I just switched to Polyend Tracker +. New Tracker is awesome and I'm about to make entire series about it in combination with Roland SH-4d and Tracker Mini.
@@whatsthatnoisee that's sounds great! I'll have a look on the Polyend again. Looking forward to seeing those new videos!! Thanks a lot!
Amazing video…is there a way to disable my parameter control knobs ? My 1st control knob is acting glitchy and wanted to turn off as a master to where I don’t have to turn off manually on every session
Unfortunately no. You can set them to basically whatever you want but it's clip/sound based. Butt hey! You can always create a preset project ;)
I got ya thank you 🙏
thank you, my mic didnt rec so i saw you moving input mixout so i tried that and now works. thanks. iasked for support in roland now i dont need it.
Thanks, I'm glad that I could help.
Great review👍
Thanks, appreciate it a lot!
MV-1 ❤
My brother how are you doing. I have a question. What does that workflow look like on the MV-1 when you connect the machine on a laptop or a pc. Not a tablet, but a laptop or a pc. I'm curious.
To answer that I would recommend you to watch another of my videos called "Roland Verselab MV-1 - MIDI controller for DAW". Verselab can be easily used as a midi controller and audio interface. Fully featured so you can control plugins in your DAW, life record steams from each Verselab tracks separately including stereo/mono input channel. It's pretty powerful. The only thing to keep in mind is that in Verselab Editor you don't have a vocal track to edit but a regular DAW fix it for you.
Do you want some more balot?
I think one is enough, but thanks 😅👍
What's That Noise? привет Как ты соединил Верселаб и Вольку ?
I used 5 pin MIDI to 3.5 TRS jack adapter. Volca requires Type A.
@@whatsthatnoisee и аудио из Вольки на вход Верселаба джеками ??
@@DarWeter78 Audio from the Volca goes into the mixer. My routing is more complicated because of the video but yes... You can do it this way, as long as you have set input to (line) in Verselab it will come across on your output in Verselab. So Verselab is basically 2 channels (L-R) or one channel mono audio interface as well.
You ended it really good, Love. 👏👏
Thank you 😁
Such an inspiration 😊
Thank you 😁
@@whatsthatnoisee You're most welcome, Love. Keep it burning!
inspiring, tasteful, generative groove. Makes me want to think about the mv in new different directions, lots to learn. Keep going!

Appreciate the Verselab content .
Thank you
amazing very cool grooves going on there
Thank you! It's all work in progress :)
What's That Noise? привет лупы на Верселабе можно все вместе воспроизводить ? или только по очереди ?
You can play up to 2 loops simultaneously if you set Inst 1 and inst 2 tracks to looper track and record on both of them. No overdub unfortunately :/
I'm using SH-4D as four sweet tweakable voices for my Polyend Play to sequence. Much fun!
No more mv? 😮💨I am really liking that polyend tracker can see why you went with the 4d nice addition thanks for sharing !
MV is not gone, just took a break. I still have many projects to do on Verselab. But for now I decided to try something different and SH-4d was hunting me in my dreams for a long time :). It has a poor sequencer but great sound design capabilities and as soon as I figure out how to pattern change on 4d through MIDI from the master device, I'll combine Verselab and 4d! Thanks for watching and comments! Appreciate it 😁
@@whatsthatnoisee sweet really looking forward to it... always enjoy how inventive you get with your stuff
Good vid for all us guitarists/bassists. So finally a groovebox/looper that fits in with analogue instruments. Cool. Thanks a lot !
You're welcome :)
Thank you 🙏🏻
You're welcome :)
What's That Noise? привет is it possible to record audio from Roland Fantom via audio inputs on Versalab?
Definitely! You have 3 options to record to MV-1: Line input, built in mic and XLR external mic (dynamic or condenser because Verselab have phantom power too).
@@whatsthatnoisee отлично !
Indeed limitations is stimulating, it stimulates creativity and resourcefulness. Continue what you are doing because you're doing great ❤😁
Well said! Thanks Love ❤️
It's great that you're working with the MV-1. I bought one on sale a while ago, but still haven't made a song with it.
For me it's the "go to" box almost every single time. Thanks for watching :)
So, if I pay for 1 month zenology Pro, and just download many synth sounds and stop paying. Can I still keep the sounds on my MV-1 SD-memory card ? the MV-1 does not have internet connections...... for Roland to check....
That's what I did. I downloaded sound packs for MV-1 to my harddrive and SD in Verselab but in addition I slightly altered some sounds from Zenology Pro sound packs to my custom sound bank and exported it as mine. As long as you have saved your pack in the right file format Verselab and other Zenology compatible gear will be able to read it.
Very good video. I hope that Roland improves their Zenlab Android / Apple software to use with the MV-1. Also a new firmware update to unlock zen core edit for MV-1 !
I would prefer sample chopping option in Verselab editor to compensate for the small screen. But most likely it will never happen.
I literally gave your video a like for the simple fact that you said you don't like to do intros! I wish more people would stop with the dumb intros and begging for likes/subs!
I'm not seeing it in FL after install. I can open every single Roland plugin just fine with my Ultimate membership, but cannot find Galaxias in my list!
Galaxias at this point, is only stand alone. Roland promised a plugin version but we'll see...
