    Groovy but there's so much more. I've been here for 50+ years and features to highlight include the arts and music scene. I involve in both. Beyond being audience, there are many opportunities to perform or show or teach or learn. Firehouse Art Center does Artwalk, Summer on the Streets, Dia De Los Muertos procession and much more; Left Hand Artist's Group is a hip place for start-up artists to unshy; Mojo Music academy turns out kid bands with developed talent and Silver Creek High School music performances rivals any pro orchestra, The artist attitude is cooperative not competitive. You go to a jam to play with other musicians and nobody cares how good you are or aren't. We support each other not compete. It's a mellow vibe all around.

    One of the worst things is the Mayor and city council are "woke" as well as a lot of people that live there. There's hardly any open space left, they have built apartments on every square inch of the place, its very crowded now. Homes in Colorado are very expensive, not a great place to move to. Its Boulder County so everything is extremely high cost. The traffic is now off the hook, bumper to bumper no matter where you go in the town.

    • @livinginlongmont
      @livinginlongmont หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is hilarious 🤣! There is open space everywhere you look it can’t be developed and is protected. The fact is that Longmont is growing, and people need a place to live. I am glad there are apartments being built, as it puts the city in a better position to receive new residents. This also takes a little pressure off of the rental market, making it less expensive. Traffic is non-existent unless you are on 66 or Ken Pratt Blvd during peak hours. You can drive from one corner of Longmont to the other in 15 minutes.

    • @paintedlady4589
      @paintedlady4589 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @livinginlongmont Not as funny as you may think. Don't know how long you have been in Longmont. My husband was born in Longmont and his family has been around the area since the 1800's. Progress is good but the town has not done it responsibly in many many peoples options. Parking on main and Kimbark/Coffman is a joke and now more will go away with the new hotel. You must not drive around much if you think traffic is ok, it is a hot mess. It is not even family friendly much anymore with all the homeless and gangs. This is a realistic view of Longmont.

    • @livinginlongmont
      @livinginlongmont หลายเดือนก่อน

      @paintedlady4589 I appreciate your opinion but disagree with you. I have lived here for 6 years-nothing like your family, but long enough to know that Longmont is an amazing place to call home! It’s not perfect but I don't need perfect to be happy. I need kind, friendly people and the great outdoors😎!

    • @paintedlady4589
      @paintedlady4589 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@livinginlongmont , And I disagree with your assessment in some areas. It is no longer affordable to most, apartments are $1500-$2000 a month and family friendly it is not. Very unfortunate but to each his own.

    We moved there in 2015 and things were great. We moved out in 2022 because cost of living was getting ridiculous. Also, the 9 month long winters coupled with the wildfire smoke all summer started to make it hard to really enjoy life. Schools also weren't performing like we had hoped. We miss the mountains, good healthcare, and friends. We might move back if cost of living becomes affordable enough to save and have a life outside of work.

    Fantastic video Noah. I use to live up the I-25 in Cheyenne when I was stationed at F.E. Warren AFB. Left there 21 years ago today ironically. Well life has taken me to the interior of Alaska where I’ve been ever since. I’m originally from S.E. Colorado and just applied for a position at NIST in Boulder. Realizing there’s no way I can afford those home prices or tolerate the snooty attitudes (granted I will be working there) I’m looking elsewhere. When I lived in Cheyenne my step-brother lived in Loveland for about 15 years so I’m a bit familiar with the area. For all the work you put into the video I’m surprised it doesn’t have more views. I just might reach out if things workout with the job at NIST. Longmont just might be my next landing spot. Cheers, from North Pole, Alaska!!! 🎅🏻❄️🇺🇸

    Everything you mention is playing a part in many states with crime, inflation, and rising real estate prices. We live in AZ looking to relocate to Northern CO because we are tired of the extreme heat 🥵 and ready to enjoy some seasons. Hoping the rates drop even more for a solid home buy come April or May 2025

      Why not move to northern Arizona? It's beautiful up there and not as hot.

    Thinking about moving from Dallas. I've had it with the traffic, crime and crowds. Curious though - I use Katy Trail almost every day. Great place to get in my cardio and lots of good people watching. Does Longmont have a running/hiking trail?

      Longmont, Colorado, has more than 40 miles of walking and biking trails. These trails connect various parks, greenways, and natural areas throughout the city. People relocate here to be closer to nature, and all of the towns in Northern Colorado protect the greenways and natural habitat so we can all continue to enjoy it! You can always grab a spot on my calendar if you want more personalized information. 👇🏼 sellinglongmont.com/calendar

    My dad worked for IBM. In 1974 we were transferred to Boulder IBM and got a house in Longmont. It was a great place to be a kid! And even we though were transferred back to Kentucky I will always think of Longmont as a second home. Very fond memories of Longmont.

    You have LONGMONT in text on your opening statement. But its about LOVELAND, right? A few other places have LONGMONT also, what gives? Great video. I used to live in Loveland back in 1980 for about 10 years..I really miss it, but its not at all what it used to be. people think because its a tourist town they can park wherever, do whatever just like they do with the animals in Estes. Not worth it.

      Please do. It will help the economy. Plus, most people with money get it by being successful. Successful individuals model a strong work ethic, innovation, leadership and bring opportunities to a community that needs it.
