    Is that a Baldwin Design steam locomotive. Similar to an Na class Puffing Billy. Can we borrow it down in Tasmania to run shuttles between Lebrina and Wyena...PLEASE?

      @AP-ck1ye ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha...! Not sure if it's a Baldwin, I think it was a new-build based on an original L&B design.

      Pages 34 & 35. Following the signs. BATONS AND ARMBAND. Early railway policemen, from around 1841, acted as signalmen. They would use different coloured flags to signal for a train to stop, proceed with caution, or to show that the line was all clear. They also wore armbands for clear identity, and ornately decorated truncheons at the waist in case they encountered trouble.

      Pages 50 & 51. Running the railway. Safety First. The railways ran their own fire service, trained to deal with any special hazards which might arise. The service had its own equipment and uniform. Great Western Railway fireman's brass helmet.

    Very good and inviting film. Out of interest, what camera and editing software do you use?

    Superb trackwork and very good loco control. Is the signal box based on that ‘box at Shrewsbury?

    Beautiful atmosphere - your video captures just why heritage railways - particularly lovely ones like this - have such a lasting appeal

    This is such a beautiful railway, I was fortunate to take my late father on a train there a few years ago, he absolutely loved it as did I. I have really high hopes for the future, there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to reopen as much of the old line as possible with some new sections where sites have been redeveloped or are submerged! So much has been achieved already and everything looks loved and cared for. Great video, many thanks for sharing.

    It's amazing to think that this little railway, presently just a few miles long, has such a huge benefit for the local economy in North Devon (many millions of pounds a year indirectly). Extensions are planned, there being few other heritage railways in the UK that deserve so much to be reinstated in their entirety, in my opinion.

    Hi, could you possibly help.. I'm making a modellers world 18inch goods. Is the running plate fixed to the buffer beam or is the buffer beam soldered to the main frames John

    • @AP-ck1ye
      @AP-ck1ye 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, the old Modellers World kits are 'interesting' to say the least! The buffer beam is fixed to the chassis not the running plate. Wait till you get to the tender - its a long time since I built mine but I seem to remember the wheels end up being locked in. Might be worth noting. I host all my movies on Crook Street on its own youtube channel now: 'LNWR Crook Street'

      @@AP-ck1ye hi thanks for that, it must be interesting at the joint of the running plate abd the buffer beam. For the tender im going to use one from Dragon models its a more modern kit. If you are interested I have an LNWR thread on Western thunder and rmweb John

      Hi John, it was a Zero Zephyr kit. I did a detailed build thread on the Gauge 0 Guild 'My Workbench' forum. It was straightforward apart from my individual kit had a lot of missing components

    Hi John, its a bog standard 1833 motor with a fold-up gearbox, a TCS T1 chip running on an NCE DCC 5A system. You might want to look at my other channel, LNWR Crook Street, I've moved all my layout stuff on to that. Thanks for your comments.

  • @6robertdavey

    Did you get to the bottom of the problem? I'm intending a similar set-up but don't want delicate bits damaging.

    • @AP-ck1ye
      @AP-ck1ye 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robert, no I didn't. I had a chat with Dave Fenton at Megapointcontrollers, he suggested either rogue servo - unlikely as there's 6; poor wiring - I'm pretty confident of my wiring; inadequate power supply - this sounds possible. I used a cheapo supply I had to hand, his website suggests one that delivers more current but I haven't tried it out yet. The system works fine without the bounce so its on my to do list but not urgent. Hope this helps...

      Good Morning, and thank you. I took Dave Fenton's advice and ordered one of his powerpacks, at the same time. Fingers crossed. I'll shall keep watching and reading about your endeavours. You provide inspiration and encouragement to me and my attempts. Robert (9725)
