Last time I went for a night session, it was during the c-vid hysteria. All the beaches were closed and first spot we went to was Scripps pier at 1am and as we were walking to the beach, cops rolled up on us like we robbed a bank and threatened to arrest us, so we bailed and went to troumaline, we made it to the water and after 15 min a cop drove up on the sand and looked for us with a spot light for an hour. We snuck out of the water and ran away from him.

Man i feel super spoilt with the waves were I'm at. Over 2 weeks of good swell and clean conditions ranging from 2-4 ft to 6-10 ft. Next good day is this sunday. 4 days of onshore with 4 m of ocean swell, 18-20 ft tomorrow. 😥

Doing this solo is wild

Man, I'm highly conflicted here. I don't know if there's differences in dinoflagellates, and region, temperature, or whatnot, but I made a horrible mistake one time sponging in red tide during the day because I was desperate for surf. This was central coast Cali. I was basically sick for about a year with constant cold-like symptoms, and a horrible taste/smell in my mouth and nose for 2-4 months. Never had that before nor since, and without a doubt started after that session. I should also mention that I'm ok at holding my breath and keeping calm during hold downs, but I've never been good at blowing out my nose during duck dives. And for that reason I get colds commonly after a session. Just some food for thought.
