What’s up, friend? Welcome to my channel. I’m a former competitive bodybuilder turned software engineer and content creator. I've won several large regional titles in bodybuilding, built my career as an engineer from nothing to multiple six figures, and am self taught in Japanese, digital art, and guitar. I generally have tried my best to squeeze as much as I can out of this beautiful little life. On this channel, I talk about all of those things and more. Thanks for being here. (:
What 6 Months of Art Progress Actually Looks Like
Have you ever wondered how much progress you can make in your art in just 6 months WITHOUT a real drawing routine or countless sketches? Well then this is the video for you.
In this video I talk about becoming inspired by @PewDiePie and his initial art journey, what my first 30 days were like, how I overcame my first art block, learning from @ArtwithFlo , becoming inspired by @samdoesarts , and what my art looks like now after 6 months of trying to improve.

Welp. It finally happened. I just turned 30. Which brought with it a heaping pile of existential dread and one giant question: Now what? Hi Jordan. Great Video. I saw you mentioned getting a Myocarditis when you were at your biggest. I’m in the exact same boat right now. My Ejection Fraction is at 60% but I already had 2 severe heart arrhythmias. I was Enhanced and I’m struggling with the mental side of things as well as just the anxiety of another heart arrhythmia. Hope things get better in the near future. :/
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on this video my friend. I'm wishing you the absolute best in recovering! I relate to this all too well, I struggled with severe arrhythmias for years after my ordeal with myocarditis. What I can tell you is that, now, I have never felt healthier, stronger, or safer in my own body. It gets better. Just keep on keeping on.
Thank God these guys don't actually make saddles. Cuz they would minimize them beyond usefulness the way they do keyboards.
Even I, as a person from Tijuana changed my perception of Mexico City.
... THERE IS FENTANYL EVERYWERE, AND NARCOS WAITING FOR INOCENT TOURISTS.
... ATENTION ! THIS MAN IS A LIAR. MEXICANS ONLY EAT BEANS, CHILE AND TORTILLAS, DRINK ONLY CHEAP TEQUILA.
RIGHT on.
great video. audios a bit low though
Thanks so much! I've definitely learned my lesson on audio since making this video (:
oh man... this vocal fry....
You can also be freelyLGBT in Mexico City and to a lesser degree elsewhere in the country. Regarding nature parks are limited and small and air pollution and noise are rampant which is super disgusting in my opinion (I'm from Mexico). Regardless I would love to see much more foreigners that would make me happy
you are a lier!!!
I recently bought myself a Hybrid Type-S after using (and modding the heck out of) a Pro 2 I picked up used back in 2020. While waiting for it to arrive, I was worried I would be disappointed, since there's no way I'd be able to not compare it to my first HHKB. But when I got it and started typing on it, I realized that everything I'd read about the most recent models (Classic and Hybrids) being infinitely better out of the box was true. Funny thing is, even though all of my keyboards are in the HHKB (or -ish) layout, the Pro 2 was the only one I ever got the urge to actually use. That's not to say that my MX boards are bad or that I don't enjoy using them, but the Pro 2 was the only one I really found myself wanting to use when it wasn't on my desk. And now that I have the Hybrid, I'm not sure if I'm going to continue rotating through my keyboards like before. I'm even actually starting to considering trying to sell off my cheaper keyboards.
Dude - the Hybrid is such a game changer. It absolutely rips out of the box in a way I haven't experienced in other keyboards before. I'm about to try out their new studio model for a comparison point, but I have a feeling I'll be HHKB through and through for a long time.
I have always loved the Mexican people. Mexico is so very diverse. I presently spend my winters in a small community on Lake Chapala, which had San Diego weather...consent 70-degree weather. I feel extremely safe. I love visiting Mexico City for short periods. The elevation is very high, so I find the air a little thin, and the air pollution is a little too high for my liking. The culture and food are fantastic, so it is well worth the time there. But as I stated earlier, Mexico is so diverse. Beautiful beaches eith high humidity, ick. Beautiful country for hiking and biking. Some drivers can be a little crazy so you need to be cautious, but then you can say that about America. Most of the bad reports are cause by the media. I learned a long time ago not to trust what the media says, because they usually have an agenda. Jordan, I am pleased that you like Nomad Capitalist. I am Nomad Mom and i am married to Nomad Dad. We are very proud at what Andrew has accomplished.
Mexico has the largest number of American citizens abroad. Mexico is not Syria, Iran, Libya, Iraq, Ukraine, China or Yemen. Half of its territory is from Mexico and thanks to these lands they are what they are. In the history of attacks on the United States there have been no Mexicans and we are the main suppliers of drugs for its addicted citizens. Does anyone know a better partner for the United States?

I was NOT expecting this much progress, you really inspired me to push myself more 👀 keep up the gr8 work!
Thanks so much, friend!! Keep going and pushing yourself to improve!!
hey, really awesome video, subbed :D i think your drawing skill, hands and noses included, is at a really good spot! i would take a look at studying a bit more on shadows and light to compliment it; shadows do a lottt of heavy lifting to explain smaller details. and on the stylization bit, that's something that'll come with time as you become more confident with the process and find new ways to have fun with it. keep it up, your progress is inspiring <3
The art community is just the nicest dang comments section on TH-cam. 💜 Thank you so much for the kind words and advice! I really appreciate it and look forward to sharing more of my art journey with you. (:
goodjob keep it up
Thanks so much!
Very impressive progress. You had a good feeling for composition from the beginning which is something I struggle with a lot despite doing art for a while now.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the kind words. I feel like composition has become one of those things that the more I learn about it, somehow the harder it gets. 🙃
This is really really cool! I'm in a similar situation where my auDHD means whenever I'm not immediately good at something I end up giving up - so I've re-started trying to learn art earlier this year from the beginning, and I've been making some progress but it's always super frustrating that it takes time and effort ahaha. Your progress is super inspiring because it's realistic but it's obviously also super noticeable! I hope to follow you as well in my own journey, because as you say here, it's actually super rewarding to see progress in something you've had to work extra hard for <33
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment! (: I have a sneaking suspicion that the aud part of my ADHD is just undiagnosed - it certainly adds some complication to getting started with new stuff. That darn time and effort, it’s so demanding 😂. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck in your own journey and I really appreciate the kind words.
I tap two mana to play New Hyperfocus.
I mill two hobbies to resurrect that one thing I forgot I liked from my graveyard
subscribed from this video! congrats on your progress, you’re doing really well!! since you’re looking to make more complex pieces i would suggest studying composition and shape language, it’s been really helpful in my art journey, good luck and have fun! :3
Thank you so much!! I’m glad to have you as a sub, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I’ll definitely take your advice (:
Nicely done! I resonate a lot with your channel, so much so it's a little freaky. I'm about to turn 29, I've worked as a software engineer for 6+ years. I had a bodybuilding phase then competitive jiu jitsu phase and now crossfit lol. I also play guitar - recorded over a dozen songs and performed in several different states and a few dozen gigs. I also had been learning japanese - I visited Japan for 2 weeks earlier this year. And now I discover we also share an interest in digital drawing and we've had the same inspirations, firstly from PewDiePie and then Sam Yang (whose style I absolutely adore). Could you share a link to the drawing book you mentioned? I'm just waiting on your video about launching your own SaaS product, since that's my latest venture... Also you're making me realize I probably have undiagnosed ADHD
DUDE!! This absolutely made my day. There are dozens of us! DOZENS!!! But in all seriousness, it’s super cool to hear your experience and to see the truly uncanny overlap with my own. I appreciate you sharing it here and am glad to have you as someone watching my content. I think TH-cam and the communities it helps foster is a really special thing - nowhere else do you find software engineering bodybuilding jiu jitsuing Japanese learning digital art creating music playing world travelers who can gather in one place. 😂 wishing you the best my dude. Link to book is here: a.co/d/1wuFURt PS - getting formally diagnosed with ADHD and subsequently medicated completely changed my life. If it feels close to home for you, it might be worth looking into.

Mexico is freedom.. Mexico is real democracy, not corporate democracy like in the US. (CORPORACRACY). Mexico is culture.. Mexico is warm símiles and good friends.. But,, Americans believe the manipulation media without question. Anything that bashes and makes any country look bad, you Americans believe it like flies to human excrenent. But that's Gringos, whatever the TV says they believe. Your media manipulators have you in the palm of their dirty ugly hand, when will the gringos join the rest of the world and fight back against the manipulators to end the "CHAYOTERO" culture of journalists being more like prostitutes than real journalists.

Yeah, this is a sentiment I’ve heard quite a few times and that I largely agree with. It’s a really tough city to get into a groove in. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

Usa is more dangerous
Thank you for educating people about my country and the city I was born in. I love the USA as I love Mexico because people treated me fantastically while I lived in Seattle and other cities in Washington state and all my six kids were born there.
Thank you Jordan. This is a powerful statement. I love your pasion. You made me proud to be a Mexican and to live in this blessed old country.
Really enjoyed your video. Although I love Mexico City, you should visit some of Mexico's Pacific Coastal cities. I live in Buceríad, Mexico. We're 30km. north of Puerto Valarta. I'm full-time here. I love my new country.
You were NOT hypo gonadal at 20😂😂😂😂. U went to a Trt pill mill. 😅😅😅
It’s almost like you disregarded the second part of the same sentence where I said I went somewhere that I specifically thought would diagnose me regardless. Telling people what their experience was or wasn’t on the internet isn’t typically a very effective way of engaging in discourse, my friend. I hope you have a great holiday weekend!
keep making videos, you're intelligent and fun 2 watch brother
This means the world dude! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
All of you who think Mexico is a better than the USA can go back to Mexico and leave us Americans alone Todos los que piensan que México es mejor que Estados Unidos pueden regresar a México y dejarnos en paz a los estadounidenses.

Dude! The point you reference about violence in Chicago and Mexico were mind blowing! Cause it's true. I was born and raised in Southern California (gangs, drugs, etc), even to this day I don't consider it as dangerous as México. I want to go to Mexico city so bad, but the "violence" had kept me away. I'm rethinking this now. Thanks
fun and informative video but please get some professional lighting haha!
lol thanks dude! I have, since this video, significantly increased my lighting and audio quality. (: Thanks for the feedback!
Sorry, wait, what, you're working on stuff for the shop? I want first dibs on Jordan Quinn merch please.
You already knoooooooow 😉
That sounds pretty much similar to my experience. Thank you for sharing now I don't feel like a failure.
You’re not a failure at all my friend. Onto whatever is next for you!
Is there any Hope for someone who User steroids for 3 years ? Been 6 months since i quit and i feel terrible cant see the light at the end of Tunnel but i push through
There absolutely is. It took me almost a year to feel “normal” again, but now I feel better than I EVER did taking steroids. I can’t imagine going back now.
@@JordanQuinn94 alright Thats Good to hear thank you. ill push trough then Takes literally Balls to endure that down Phase . Ive Respect for everyone who made it out
Nice vid mate, but it would be nice to see the board and some examples of the situations you're referencing rather than just the static frame of your desk
I appreciate the feedback my friend! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment (:
Thank you so much for this video and for your comments on my country and my city brother! Much love and you are always welcome in Mexico!
Not for me. I don't like the sound and I don't like tactiles.
Por favor sigan teniendo miedo de mexico, no los necesitamos y tampoco los queremos aqui. Solo inflan precios y muchas veces estan de indocumentados.
Here a Mexican, living in Mexico City. Thank you so much for your kind words and for helping to debunk the myths about Mexico. It's always heartwarming to see people like you sharing the truth about our country. I’ve had the pleasure of hosting many Americans through Couchsurfing, and it's been amazing to witness their surprise when they realize how much more there is to Mexico than what the media portrays. Cultural exchanges are incredibly valuable, and I always enjoy seeing how people's perceptions change for the better. You’re always welcome here!
beautiful Review and words from You .❤ happy You enjoyed México. mexicans are happy to share our culture and we treat our guests as family or friends
Keep experimenting, you’re on the right track - even the high quality videos that aren’t getting tons of views are helping you refine your craft. When you pop off, you’ll be ready 🔥
I appreciate you! 🤘🏻 thanks for taking the time to watch and comment - I’ll keep going!
As a mexican I love when foreigners come as tourist to my country, even better if it is to my city, and get overwhelmed by us, by our culture, food, music, many and diverse wildlife, when traveling here open their eyes to see that news sold them a very dark image of a very colourful country. What in most cases don't like is when they decided to stay, because the vast majority believe they are entitled to be served as kings, that we have to talk their language, most common on USA citizen, the so called "expats", which, bte is just a fancy way to say inmigrants, whom unlike out inmigrants, don't pay taxes, and bring problems to us, the mexicans. You see, when expats decide to make Mexico their residence, they bring with them some.problems specifically the house living prize, this phenomenon is known as gentrification. The rent prices rocket up, the food prices too, residents are moved from their original homes because for landlords it represents a better income to rent their propeties to foreigners that pay in dollars. I love tourist, I loathe expats
