Fair Trade explained by kids for Pini Piru
We started talking with our kids T-shirt models about Fair trade & organic. They just talked about it at school and we decided to film what they said! This is what they came up with:-)
Pini Piru is a indie T-shirt brand from the Netherlands that only works with organic and fairly traded cotton T-shirts.

DIY home made Screen Stretching
มุมมอง 219K12 ปีที่แล้ว
We started making our own screens at Pini Piru! With the first screens the mesh tension was far from ok though, so we came up with a solution that worked out very good, and thought it might be a good enough to share it with the world:) The real trick is that small/thin piece of wood you use for mixing paint! Hope you enjoy it! Music by Hooverphonic, Pink Fluffy Dinosaurs from the album The Magn...

This video drives me bananas!
i love this tutorial, i come back to this video every time i want to strech my screens for years now
Hello to your channel..very short and informative..
Actually a good method
Good job guys! Just did my first screen using your method! As tight as it can be! Thank you for sharing!
CREEPY!
Finally! After looking at more than a dozen videos, your video has captured exactly what I need to do, and shown the tools and materials to boot. Well done, and thanks.
How high did you put the temperature? 300 degrees or higher ?
nice..
Hola !!
Been doing for years and this is a better way. Plus good-natured and nice music, this is what the Interwebs is for. Many thanx
awesome thank you
Thanks for this! I'm an art student studying printmaking you just made my homemade screen so much better quality 🤘🏻
Thanks for sharing this technique
This is a brilliant idea. Thanks for sharing!
This is sweet, and the test at the end is awesome. Make a 2 hour long video of stuff bouncing off a silk screen. lol
I WATCH THIS EVERY DAY!!
I creepster
HEY, YOU YOU'RE STUPIDLY STUPID! !

where do u buy screen ar
.
Thanks for sharing this technique. I'm just getting into screening and I found your video very helpful. I also enjoyed the music.
+flareless Ah, that is nice to hear. Good luck with your screenprinting!
Helpful video, annoying music.
Your technique to stretch is very good, I suggest you to use glue instead, it's easier to apply and doesn't tear the fabric or ruin the wood, and if don't want to wait use an activator with it. Cheers my friend !
It would have to be quick drying though;)
Do you use a contact adhesive?
Wow!!! That is a smart way to do it! Thanks for the video my friend!!
hi bro thanks for sharing this video i have been shared this video on my site www.ajilika.com/2014/10/blog-post_4.html
Good tutorial with suicide music. Maybe some happy music would be nice...
you are right:) but this is the music youtube suggested ,other wise the movie will be blocked^^
Pini Piru I liked the music.
+Pini Piru Ditto, I like calm music sometimes. Calm doesn't mean sad.
looks simple enough
Hey Pini, thanks for the tutorial Its always great to get people into the passion for screen printing! Most of our staff started out with just a few screens at home, and their own labels! We have been playing around with some blacklight glow white prints and tie die for the colourdash run coming up-will have to link an image after to see how they turn out! Ellie @colourworks.kiwi
If you get a wooden picture frame from a charity shop for like £1, take the back off and the panel of glass out, you can stretch the mesh over the frame. you can then use the panel of glass as a way of holding the acetate in place/flat when you're exposing ( cos the glass is the perfect size ) i combined that technique with your stretching method and i got a cheap screen :D thanks for the tutorial.
That is a great tip! Just make sure the wood is varnished, because most picture frames are made of of fairly thin wood and they will torque and twist a lot when they get wet. Thanks for commenting!
yeahh that would be a good idea, most cheap frames are MDF unfortunately. you could varnish it yourself though.
Jamie Tuckey Definitely stay away from MDF frames ,the material is to weak to hold great tension and with larger frames the sides will collapse ;)
thanks for the tip :) what wood is best ?
Jamie Tuckey as long as it is real wood you are ok,but the harder the wood the better, but those are mostly expensive frames,so just get a cheap real wooden one, and give it a few coats of boat varnish. That should keep the water out and keep the wood from twisting :)
Thank you for the share : ]
You done well citizen, great video tutorial
This is the best homemade version of stretching a screen I've seen so far. Thanks!
very good,thanks for your share!!
what kind of this ink, is puff ink make glow?
Hey thanks for the video. Quick question: Do you know if the puff additive works with india ink on paper or other art inks or does it only work with screenprinting inks?
the mesh is extremely fine of real silkscreen mesh and can withstand great tension, those are in general not the qualities of a curtain. But if you can find a curtain that comes close to those specifications, you might be able to get some results, but i wouldn't get my hopes up. Silkscreens can be very unforgiving if poorly constructed,i would recommend looking for some real mesh ;)
Is it possibe too use a curtain, ive seen it in another video
Good job. Very creative!
Super duper like Thumbs up
Sorry! Late reply, but no. You don't have to wet the mesh before stretching it:-) Good luck!
Probably most art supply stores have mesh. 45T mesh that is I think. Good luck!
most art supply stores sell this by the meter or yard depending where you live ;)
sorry to answer so late, but mesh doesn't absorb water ,so soaking it before hand will only make it harder to clamp down ;)
question, where can you buy the mesh?
Easy best idea. like it!!
This is a fantastic method. Does anyone put their screen mesh in water, prior to stretching? I'm about to stretch a screen and can't recall if placing it in water helps the fibers move easier prior to the stretching.
very fantastic
;-) You are the first to notice! We didn't even see till now! It is for failed nails though.. And we didn't have one of those :)
is the "Ranch" to add flavor to the project? ;)
