How can you not have any cooldown on the Static spell?

Thanks for the build. Was wondering if Focus is "mandatory"? I'm tempted to modify a bit Frost claw tree and add Celestial conflux. I guess it will be too mana demanding and not worth it, but what's your opinion on that? I'm not looking for a glass cannon. Think I'm like you and prefer something more balanced (offense/defense). The beauty of it is I can still put Focus (undevelopped) on my skills bar if I feel the need.

Build looks good. Keep up the good work! (Also, Abyssal Echos is one of my favs, so nice touch.)

Will it be hard to throw a high level of challenge?

Armor cap is 80% and it's pretty hard to hit due to diminishing returns. 65-70% DR is doable without significant investment, beyond that it gets a bit too expensive. Have you considered adding spirit plague with this via Life's Journey shield? Could be an interesting twist. Also surprised you don't path to Spirit Shards on Harvest tree for the 65% more multiplier and mana generation, and Undead Harvest 5% debuff which is effectively a more multiplier. Edit - also the %dmg bonus for Aspect of Death was bugged before, I don't know if they fixed it yet or not, you may need to test that it actually functions.

Looks good, I think you aren't putting enough priority into INT though. You'll get much higher stable ward from ward retention with more int without needing those rings while also getting more damage. The idols being HP / etc. are also forcing you to get mana elsewhere, which is coming at the cost of a lot of INT on your gear. Each point of INT gives; 6 ward decay threshold, 4% damage, 3% spell crit, 2 flat damage on spark charges, and 4% ward retention.

Gonna try this out, thank you for sharing. For lower corruption, could you replace focus with flame ward? For speed

I decided to go with MG because I wanted to play a divine bolt paladin and it needs some specific uniques as well as ward based on missing life which I thought would be kind of hard to get to enable the build, but the market is really dry right now in comparison to last league, most of the items that are up for sale dont have LP and I think that it will get worse past the first couple of weeks because a lot people had probably already quit by then. I am honestly just rerolling to a CoF character just because I plan on playing for at least a couple of months, and dont want to find myself not being able to upgrade my items because the market is dead.

This was really interesting to hear the perspective of a non d&d player who doesn't have that shortcut know-how. It reminds me of how overwhelmed I was the first time I downloaded a player's handbook to see what d&d was about. I was so confused! I can totally see where you're coming from, 100%. Nevermind the availability of guides online, I totally see the lack of intuitive usability and guidance within the game. I loved the example of the Zelda stamina wheel. I defo think Larian could learn from povs like yours and improve the experience for new players even more. I'd love to be part of the design team consulting people like you to make sure the game is inviting and encouraging for anyone regardless of xp.

This is one of my two biggest problems with the game, it assumes everyone playing it is familiar with D&D mechanics (the other major issue for me _is_ those mechanics). Like someone told me your AC value doesn't mitigate damage like it does in every other RPG ever created, it adds to the chances of a miss in combat against you, and your dexterity adds to your AC, not your strength? So I need a high Dexterity to wear Plate Armour? Utter nonsense. BG3 isn't a bad game, but it is one of the most overrated games of all time.

Seeing I am your first comment, on your first video, I need to make it clear not to break your moral. I am no hater, this is a great video for someones first, keep at it. Now that I have said this. Most of what you are talking about is either a skill issue, or expectation issue. If you simply read everything the game gives you to read you will mostly understand whats going on and how things work, the only exception that I can think of is potion crafting, but for me personally it was a thrill to chug some magic juice and see what the outcome is. When it comes to leveling, you are leveling blindly, and wont know what the next level has in store for you. But there is a simply solution to this, respecing. You can do this at almost any point in the game, and its costs you a measly 100gold (the skeleton guy in camp). You can also at any point look up videos that explain the classes and all the subclasses. Personally I love the videos from Fextralife. He covers everything you would need to know. When i started, I had never played dnd or bg before, so I was absolutely lost. In fact, I made karlach (the mf barbarian) wear heavy armor, BEFORE she was even proficient with it. Then when I figured out how proficiency works I used a whole feat to unlock proficiency with heavy armor, on my BARBARIAN. And that was how I used her for my whole first playthrough. Maybe you havent used barbarians and dont know about it but ill explain it like this, heavy armor breaks the whole point of barbarians being barbarian. Its as bad as selecting wizard and then proceed to not cast a single spell. Even with this massive blunder, I had fun and was able to win fights and progress the story. Point is you dont need to know it all to enjoy the game. All of this is part of the beauty of bg3. You are not supposed to know everything going on, even after a 80 hour first playthrough. That way there is more to learn in your 2nd, and 3rd, maybe even 4th playthrough. If you are not a diehard fan of dnd and/or the other BGs, then you cannot expect to go in and know whats going on. That would be a expectation issue. If you still want to do that, then you have to do an insane amount of research, if you cant do that then thats a skill issue on top of a expectation issue.
