I'm a regular planespotter at O'Hare, and this channel will feature a lot of O'Hare! However, this channel will also begin featuring content created from my experiences as I travel to different places throughout the US and abroad, including planespotting. Super Close Cargolux 747 at ORD

On the ORD Airport Watch airside tour in October, 2023, we had the opportunity to stand alongside taxiway NN while this Cargolux 747 taxied and it was so close, we could almost have touched its wing!

Myrtle Avenue green space is the place to be for 27L arrivals at London Heathrow! Landing aircraft are on short final here and about 60 feet off the ground.

How are these people standing right out on the tarmac like that? Guess that airport has really mellow security.
I’m a member of the ORD Airport Watch, a group of plane spotters who double as volunteer eyes and ears for police and airport security at O’Hare. This video was taken on our annual airfield tour this past weekend, where we get to go inside the airport fence. All members of the group undergo a background check and are thoroughly vetted before being allowed into the group and again before being allowed on the airfield tour. O’Hare most definitely does not have mellow security!

It is a rare opportunity, for sure! We were on an airside tour of ORD with the ORD Airport Watch group, and our group only gets to do this once a year.

@@shotgun18 It was! We used to do 2-3 tours each year, but the rules have been tightened and now we only get to do one per year, and we can only take 30 members (there’s a lot more of us than that!), so I was very fortunate to get a spot!
