Grab your crafty project and something nice to drink and listen or watch! This podcast is primarily about my knitting projects and my horsemanship journey with my two horses, Odin and Bragi the Mustangs. They are horses I adopted from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) wild horse adoption program. Adoptions and Sales | Bureau of Land Management (blm.gov). I also talk about cooking, gardening, bicycling and other outdoor adventures.
My name is Corrina and I live in the very northwest part of the United States with my partner, two kitties, and the two horses I mentioned.

Corrina, I learned so much today, I had considered horses to be predators due to their size. Now I know why it has taken years to build trust with them. I love that you consider their needs when working with them. Please keep on talking about these magnificent animals! So glad to see your Neigh sweater done.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I’m so glad this content interests you ❤
Your sweater looks great! I'm going to do the Telly Bean Knits Christmas cowl, too! I'll have to share a picture of my yarns 😊
Oh great! I'd love to see your yarn :)
Like you, I am not a big cowl fan, and cannot see when I would want to wear one. It seems like a lot of extra wool trying to strangle me. So, I love what you did to make the poncho. and it is so wearable. Love, love scrappy socks, and your colors go together so well.
Yes! When you talked about the first shawl I was thinking maybe you could stitch it together and then you said just that 😊 I hope you'll share how it turns out if you do. Are you going to do the new TellyBeanKnits Holiday mystery cowl?
Hope you saw the reveals at the end 😊
Check out KnicoleKnits Knows Knitting. She has an interesting way to turn shawls into ponchos on her TH-cam channel! You may like it 🙂
Oh wow beautiful socks! Love the Witches Brew cowl too!
The giant sock could be a fall decoration.
Love the pink sweater and your socks are cool!
That was fun watching your boys! Love the mystery cowl
Awesome new video!!! Thanks for sharing!
@@norahbianculli4429 glad you enjoyed!
I feel like casting on a dozen different things when October comes around!
@@mywoolmitten I k know what you mean!
I hope you have a wonderful time visiting your Mom and Sister! Be sure to tell your Mom we enjoy seeing the bags she's made for you 🙂 I feel very much like you do about podcasts and podcasting - it was interesting to hear how you got started! See you when you get back ❤
@@mywoolmitten thank you, we’ll be in the same time zone next weekend ☺️
@@Whinniesandknits that's right! 😁
Be thankful for your mother. I just bought two project bags for some serious change. Since I have so many WIPs I need lots more! I love your scrappy socks. When I make scrappy socks, I feel it's free yarn. So funny how the labels say one thing, and your experience says otherwise.
What a great sweater! Hope work settles down a bit for you, it doesn't sound like it is going to tho
From this podcast, it seems you live in paradise. At least it's paradise for your horses. I think I am falling in love with Bragi. I can feel how much you care for his happiness. Thank you for this understanding,
@@annecloward aw, thank you so much!
Good news on Bragi's progress!
Beautiful hay! And your porch is so beautiful
Thank you so much!
I thought I had escaped Covid, but was ambushed by my son's co-worker. It is hard to escape these days. I agree with you, cuff down socks just fit better. I am a flap and gusset sock knitter. Isn't it great to put on a hand knit pair of socks? I love them.
@@annecloward I hope you’re feeling better. So far we have still escaped Covid but have another memorial to attend on Friday. Yes hand knit socks are the best and mine keep getting better!
@@Whinniesandknits I was so afraid to try socks, so I took a class. Took all the mystery out of it. Now it's like falling off a log easy.
Oh darn, I'm sorry the socks don't fit! I love all the project bags your Mom has made for you, lots of great fabrics
Thank you! 😊
I noticed your finished sweater right away! Love it ❤ I wanted to say that for some reason with your new camera/recording the sound seems a lot better to me 🤷♀️ Loved the bike ride!
@@mywoolmitten thank you for the feedback!
I always knit my socks two at a time. I don't know if I would have any finished pairs of socks! Thanks for letting me know Gloss is not superwash.
@@annecloward Stroll is but Gloss definitely felted
@@Whinniesandknits Capretta definitely was. I found out the hard way. They have since changed the formula.
I have no experience with horses but I really like the approach of Ryan Rose in his TH-cam podcasts.
@@mongrain8934 I’ll check out his channel, thank you!
I wouldn't call you an average knitter, I find your projects very interesting! Really enjoyed watching Bragi and the trailer work
Oh thank you for the compliment about my knitting and for the feedback about working with Bragi. I haven’t had a chance to work with again in the trailer - trailer is occupied with hay hauling.
@@Whinniesandknits 🙂 I really look forward to your videos
Editing gets me so often! Love the summer top
@@mywoolmitten what software do you use?
Love the pink top! the scenery for your bike ride is fantastic. Reminds me of northern Idaho. I was born in Lewiston. I love to go back there. I hope you are not melting in this heat.
Thank you! I hope you get to visit Lewiston some time. Love the scenery, not so fond of the heat.
Good to see you back!
Sometimes a 'do-over' is what is needed to make things right for you. Looked like a great vacation! PS. That was a bighorn sheep 😉
Thanks for the correction on the critter!
Thank you!
Hope you have a great time! Look forward to hearing about it when you get back ❤
Such handsome guys! How tall are they? Wow, time for your bicycle trip already! Another interesting episode
They’re a little over 15 hh 😊
I am soooo envious of your curly hair! Mine is so straight, but your curls are so cute!
Aw, thank you!
Oh darn, I hope things get resolved soon with the fence! That's going to be another neat sweater
Thank you, we hope so too.
Love the bags your Mom has made, and the leather bag that Randy made you is certainly special!
Mismatched socks are cool
I ushered PHC for years when I lived in Minnesota, saw the show in person so many times. I love your scrappy sweater. it is so pretty. I also love the pink socks.
Oh I remember that now!
So much fun knitting!
I need to get started 😅
Congratulations on 100 episodes! I have to say, I really enjoy and look forward to that morning walk to the barn and saying good morning to the horses 😊 I just love your sweater using up scraps!
Thank you! I love your barn footage too ☺️
I like the colors of your sweater. It's coming along well. I like that you have different types of projects going at the same time. I tend to get fixated on socks at one time, and sweaters at another. We are suffering with allergies here, too. We have the highest pollen counts in years. I have never had allergies here in years past. I did not know horses needed allergy shots, but it makes sense that they react the same way.
I definitely like to do different types of knitting, depending on the time of day. I started getting allergies in my 30s 😔
Hi Katrina. What is the pattern for the crochet top and what fiber is the yarn?
I don’t remember the pattern name because it was so long ago. The yarn is Madeline Tosh, fingering weight.
I can't wait to see your tall socks! Seeing your Carron (sp?) sweater reminded me I have that pattern 😁
The Carron sweater was fun to knit! The tall socks are very much a long-term project 😅
I was thinking as you were walking to the barn how light it is compared to the winter and Vlogmas! Love your finished cowl and your in progress raglan, what a great idea! I really like my tall socks, look forward to see yours grow 😊 So nice to have project bags from your Mom. I have some from my Mom, too
So, the sasquatch can be worn on the outside, or the inside with the Loch Ness monster on the outside?
Yes, it’s reversible!
Corrina, your musings about animals and our responsibilities to them really hit home with me. As a mom to four cats right now, I feel it even more so. In fact, since I went plant based a year ago, I have come to regard meat as unpalatable. I keep thinking that this on my plate was once a living animal, and what right do I have to take their lives? Keep writing about our responsibilities to the other beings on this planet. I also see that you and I suffer from the same addiction to Knit Picks yarns and needles. Keep posting. Love, Anne
Thank you, Anne❤
@@Whinniesandknits I wish I had the wherewithal to do a podcast. I came for your knitting, but am now intrigued by the horses. You are doing a great job.
@@annecloward that is so encouraging, thank you again! I am also going to plant-based diet. There’s something about connecting with animals that ruin my appetite for them. I’d love to learn more about your knitting ☺️
Bragi and Odin are lucky to have found their home with someone as kind as you are! It's so interesting hearing about their different personalities
Really enjoyed the photos of the swamp and Stilaguamish River segment as well as the reminder of the Oso slide.
Hello to Herbert (that was cute when he made an appearance ❤) Nice to catch up with you!
I’m glad you had a good trip. I’m in a knitting slump right now. I’m trying to finish up a pair of socks for my sister and I’ve stalled out just before the heel on the second sock. I probably need to set myself a deadline to get it finished. On the animal side, we are shopping for a new horse for my daughter. She wasn’t able to ride her previous horse since last fall due to various issues so she is very excited/impatient to get back in the saddle again.
Thank you! What do you do instead of knit? Setting a deadline is helpful, I wanted to split for sleeves on my Calliope sweater and get past the heel on the 2nd sock before getting on airplanes. It worked as I finished the sock on the plane. Best wishes to your daughter finding a new riding partner!
Really enjoyed this episode. I like the name change and the tips on letting go of goals when needed
Glad to hear it!!!
Migwich (Ojibwe)
I hope you have a wonderful trip. Sorry I haven’t been watching recently. It’s been a very stressful time and I couldn’t handle watching any equine content.
I’m so sorry about the stress you’re living with. I wondered about you and thought about checking in on IG. Wishing you and your family the best.
