    My problem with workplace cultures is that I'm there for a pay check. I'll do my best work for you, but at the end of the day, any pedantic distraction like HR training videos / HR surveys / meaningless smalltalk is essentially an unwelcome distraction. I know how not to harass people and keep the company prioritized #1. The modern office workplace is mundanely pedantic in about every way.

      Appreciate the comment - and agree that MOST people take a job for the paycheck... but then LEAVE when they feel unappreciated or that their efforts have little meaningful impact or they have no connection with their coworkers or there is no accountability or clarity regarding expectations. THOSE are the things that allow great people (like you) to thrive. I think, like fish swimming in clean water, we don't recognize the value of a healthy culture... until we have to live in one that has become toxic or unproductive...
