ReCy:PHER, a four-year project funded by Erasmus +, focused on rethinking cybersecurity and the human factor in the digitalized world. The project aimed to raise awareness of cybersecurity challenges and create a course addressing the intersection of the cyber world and human factors. As the project nears its completion in May 2024, an international conference (IC 2024) was organized. Partner universities, including NUST, LUMS, Air University, Bogazici University, University of Saarland, and Cispa School, actively participated.
The conference featured discussions among partner universities moderated by Dr. Irfan Nabi of IBA, covering topics such as incorporating cybersecurity into existing curricula. Additionally, industry specialists were invited to discuss the growing need for cybersecurity training in Pakistan. The event included simulations by talented cybersecurity students from IBA - CICT, garnering praise from guests. The conference concluded with a certificate ceremony for IBA - CICT, followed by a dinner and a Qawali Night.
To showcase the rich cultural heritage of Sindh, a five-day tour was organized for International and national guests, featuring visits to Makli, Shahjahan Mosque, Badin, Mithi, and a night in the Thar Desert. The event concluded with the promise that this initiative marks the beginning of cybersecurity awareness in Pakistan, with a long journey ahead.
