hi it doe's this when i put in a betacam tape it grip the tape and pulls it down it's what you are used to my mate love's vhs tapes and the old looking video there's alot of gear out there still it's now hard to find alot of it is in lock up's

hi i have 11 decks of this mode as parts this deck can't take any work load i am planning to pull my decks aparts and try to get 8 working note i have worked on alot of betacam 75p A500P 1800 1600 betacam deck please what i an about to say will up set a all this deck is only for light using play back of moving THE BETACAM SP AUDIO can walk over this deck you get alot of drop out's of the audio as the tapes are getting old now the BETACAM SP tapes new sealed are still around and and the liner audio is wow as it's 6 x the speed of the tape my mate has a 950 hell i have worked on it it's coming apart 100ub be ware the hall ic's can go bad in this model why i got a load of them i can use as parts nice to have this deck big fan of ADAT recorders

As service technician of Sony NL i repaired the Betamax from SL-8000 to SL-HF950ES (all AEP/European models). Own the SL-HF100EC and the SL-HF150ES for about €100 / 150 each. My SL-HF-100EC had problems with the VU meters. Replaced it with a 5 mode VU meter (Amazon). No easy to change btw. Standard problems are, broken contact on videoboard for Video out BNC connection. Broken loading ring. Check pinchroller, pendulum, upperdrum, video/audio heads. FE head. Those HiFi machines came with a demo Betamax tape. Enjoy this one.

I can feel your excitement. This is a lovely machine! Now find yourself an SL-C9. Those are great when they work but they are not hi-fi, just linear stereo. But the mechanism is so fast and responsive and doesn't make those horrendous noises the later models do. I bought one recently and use it almost everyday.

£100 is nothing for that machine.

This has to be PAL version of the Sony SLHF100. There was also an NTSC version of this same model as well.

Wow, your SL-HF100 still looks really great 😄. The SL-HF100 is a great recorder, I also have a few of them in my collection, including the silver one. Have fun with the recorder 😄
