*All practical tests of ground-based small wind turbines show: 1) They hardly produce any electricity! 2) They do not last long!* *On the other hand, solar panels generate at least 10 times more electricity with the same investment in time & money!* Reliable and almost maintenance-free for at least 25 years! The situation is completely different with ground-based wind turbines: 9 out of 10 small wind turbines stop working after just a few years due to the extremely gusty winds close to ground. Small wind turbines produce hardly no electricity, due to hardly any wind close to the ground - and electricity yield is proportional to third power of wind speed: So +100% wind generates +800% more electricity! The rotors of all commercial wind turbines rotate above a height of 100 meters, where the wind is more constant and stronger.
We have been testing for years now. Lots of things don't look right. Efficiency will be very low. Known as Darwin wind turbine. High cost and low efficiency does not sell wind turbines.
