Went to the nags head many times. Garrick too
Good to see, I grew up all around urmston, flixton and davyhulme, remember most of the pubs, enjoyed the crack years ago, I moved to nearby Eccles, urmston is still a nice place
I grew up in urmston, recognised all the pubs, been in all except the old vic, it got demolished but I had some sessions in the new vic, I live in Eccles now but urmston is still a nice place
2020 brought me here
I remember how all this was back in the 50s, the Greyhound pub is shut, but all the rest are still going ?
Thank you for posting this. I just stumbled upon it. My local area. So very emotive. Thank you appreciated ❤
My parents own the big building thats now better tuition
My family opened the first Roebuck pub. when it was a house/public
Incredible
In those days if you spent £1 on beer you'd be dead
Or 4 pints down
This is so interesting. It just blows my mind on how places can change in a small amount of time.
Brilliant. Really enjoyed this and part one.
This is fantastic. Do you know who filmed it? Would be great to talk to you if you have a moment, my number is 0208 744 1012 and my email address is james.shearing@evanswoolfe.com.
does anyone know if there is sale in 1950 please
Brilliant ;)
Threlfalls was not the name of the pub, it was the brewery. The pub was the Greyhound. The Trelfalls sign was on the side wall of Birtwells sweetshop (later Schofields). It was there for years.
Part 2 for Flixton, Urmston & Davyhulme Carnival and Kip McGrath Urmston
Amazing footage of good days in Urmston. Thanks for posting.
