Creeping up on a large pike in shallow water at Stoney Cove. My buddy was pointing at me and laughing, I didn't know why? I gave him the camera. He spotted another pike too.

Diving on the wreck of The Walkure (ex Conway) 4/8/24

The Walkure was wrecked in 1911 when she ran aground on the Haisborough sands off North East Norfolk. In the video you can see some of the cargo including steam engine parts and rail track. The wreck is covered in anemones and there were plenty of fish, lobsters and crabs.
Bacton gas pipeline

There are several gas pipelines feeding into the gas terminal at Bacton in Norfolk. They lay on the seabed and would have a concrete weight coat and a rock dump of Norwegian granite. Number 6 wreck - great viz, lots of fish and lobsters

We dived this wreck for the first time, we don't know what it is called, it's currently listed as number 6. The wreck was about 120 metres long and we managed to explore the length of it. There was a lot of fish life on the wreck including a tompot blenny, lots of crabs and lobsters too.

2 wrecks on the Haisborough Sands that sunk in 1941. Lots of crabs, lobsters, fish and Plumose anemone. It was a perfect day to dive with warm sunshine, hardly any wind and a very flat sea. It was a Spring tide and still a little early in the dive season so the visibility wasn't brilliant but hopefully it will get better very soon.

We walked across the rocks to look at the inland sea from above, then kitted up and entered the water. We followed the coastline around the corner until we found the underwater entrance to the inland sea. We surfaced inside, saw a few people at the top looking down and then we returned. The cave at Anchor Bay, Malta - October 2023

Exploring the cave at Anchor Bay, the dive started by jumping off the concrete jetty and bothering a small flat fish trying to blend in with the sandy bottom, probably a wide eyed flounder. We entered the cave and surfaced inside. Shortly after we came out of the cave there was a moray eel.

After a surface interval we got back in via the cove but headed to the left and and explored the middle reef. We returned to the cove by swimming though the tunnel.

Lots of interesting little swim throughs with plenty of fish. In Maltese, the word 'ghar' means cave, and 'lapsi' means ascension. Therefore, Ghar Lapsi in English is 'Ascension Cave'. This dive on the wreck of the HMS Maori was cut short due to an equipment failure. After being sunk in 1942 on a German air raid and then raised in 1945, only the forepart was scuttled in the shallow water of St. Elmos bay so what is left of it has been broken down by storms.

These are responsible divers and don't have any food. When I see an intelligent marine animal behave like this, particularly in an area popular with divers, it seems likely that at some point a diver gave it some food.
