Don't spread misinformation about critical care if you have never worked in it. Critical care medicine is core medicine speciality. You get to treat critically ill medical as well as surgical patients...core medicine knowledge is required in this. So if someone wanted medicine and couldn't get it... critical care is a good option. Regarding work life balance...it is better than anesthesia... Atleast we have fixed duty hours here unlike anesthesia where duty hours depend on surgeons... You're just 3rd year JR and speaking so confidently regarding superspeciality branches... atleast first become SR and then speak

Basically with Rad Onco. My opinion - as I am an ex Resident of this service in SMS Jaipur. You will have to move a lot. Jobs are easily there since india is a cancer hub and radiotherapy is a good treatment option. But the tech is very expensive and not many hospitals can afford it. The doctors who work in this field are super smart but like with anything investment matters a lot. In next 10-15 years, Indian rules will become stronger and most patients will get the appropriate radiation treatments.. raising the demand for this speciality.
