The Wonder of Wandering
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 ก.ค. 2023
As Mark Twain famously wrote, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” As we travel throughout Europe, we are both homeless and citizens of the world. We have left our home in Asheville, NC - after having given away and sold pretty much everything - and what we have with us as we travel (2 bags each) is pretty much all that we own now. Wherever we go, for as long as we are there, that will be our home. Our short videos are collections of the beautiful photos we have captured as we move from place-to-place. Enjoy.
The Ancient Ruins of Turkey: Ephesus
Ephesus was originally founded in the 10th century BCE by Greek colonists, but it reached its peak during the Roman Empire, becoming one of its most important cities. The ruins of Ephesus, located near modern-day Selçuk in Turkey, are among the most well-preserved and significant archaeological sites of the ancient world. This ancient city offers a vivid glimpse into its glorious past as a major hub of culture, commerce, and religion during the Greek and Roman periods. Walking through its marble streets, visitors can imagine the vibrancy and grandeur of life in one of antiquity's most influential cities.
Ephesus was home to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Visitors can explore well-preserved landmarks like the Library of Celsus, a symbol of knowledge, and the Great Theater, which once hosted thousands.Ephesus is more than a collection of ruins; it is a testament to the ingenuity, culture, and spirituality of ancient civilizations. Its streets, monuments, and artifacts continue to inspire awe and offer invaluable insights into the lives of those who walked them centuries ago.

0:33 Bullshit. This is Sevilla.
I just accidentally inserted the wrong image. I have loads of photos from both places.

Thank you for the kind words, and it's my pleasure sharing our journey. Thank you.
@@SimchaWeinstein-sg2cf You're welcome friend 🙂
Increíble Toledo. Gran maravilla, no os lo perdáis.
Somehow you make every place seem so magical with your photos. I suspect it has more to do with the way you see these places than the actual photography. 😍
Hi Lynn, and thank you for your kind words. I am thrilled that my photos seem to bring out the magic of a place. I do enjoy the places Carla and I travel to and I'm delighted that my enjoyment of these locations shines through in my photography and videos. Thank you.❤

My favourite country Mexico, nice to see through your video 😍
Thank you so much.
Most Colonial Towns and Cities from the Central Region of Mexico, the Central High Lands, look very similar in fact. Also, some cities as Durango, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas, Queretaro, Leon, and Morelia, are quite Impressive, but are far more active than SNDA,because of their size. The Los Altos de Jalisco Cities, have also retained much of their colonial era charm.
Thank you. We are headed to Queretaro next and looking forward to it!
You are a Master Photographer. Now you have to do Zacatecas City. I think you ought to go out and trapp what you see in Pictures. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. We won't be able to make it to Zacatecas City on this trip . . . but we'll be back and will definitely add it to our must see list.
@@SimchaWeinstein-sg2cf Zacatecas City is a World Class, Colonial Power House. There is Nothing quite like it, in the whole of the Americas. I promise it will blow your minds. The Architecture is Impressive, Elegant,, Charming, and it is all over the place. The whole city is Historic, a maze of streets, alleys, churches and little plazas, all well preserved, as if frozen in time, waiting to be explored, and walk around.
@@TheStoneCodeArt You have convinced me . . . can't wait to see it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

😅obviously you haven't visited Granada😂
Greetings Jefemano. I am in complete agreement with you about Granada . . . I actually put together a video on it as well: th-cam.com/video/daT-16kVlTA/w-d-xo.html. I have been to Granada on three different occasions, and just love it. I've always said that if I were going to live in Spain (and certainly in Andalusia) I would choose Granada. I may not necessarily use the word "charming' (as I did with Cordoba) to describe it though, as it feels much grander to me than what charming expresses.. It is a place that I will always go back to . . . and I appreciate that you enjoy it as well. Thanks.

Nicely done. 👏👏. We visited Cordoba today. What a fantastic and beautiful city! 🙏😀
Thank you . . . it sounds like you enjoyed your visit to Cordoba. As you noted, it truly is a beautiful city.
The heart of Andalucía because is in the center
So true.
It was in the last Century that I managed to be visiting both Pompei and Herculaneum, and also the nearby Poppaea's Villa, which is still being excavated and preserved by Teams. The upper Class in Herculaneum had both running water, from lead tubes in the houses as well as a sewer system, as also the houses are extremely well preserved from their being buried in boiling mud! You are even able to se burned, black wood in those. And we have disaster reports from the time, about trying to rescue people on the beach from a nearby Naval Base. Sadly in wain because of a poisonous air which made people as well as rescuers die.
Thank you for sharing this.
Magnifique 🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩
Fantastic video, congratulations. By the way, Córdoba is not a town, It is a capital CITY with a population of 319.000 inhabitants !!!!! It may looks like small because of the narrow streets and not very tall buildings, but is not. Regards!!
Greetings and thank you. And I agree, Cordoba's population absolutely makes it a city. I did not mean to disrespect it by calling it a town . . . I tend to use city and town interchangeably, even if it's not technically correct. I find I use the description of town when it's a place I really enjoy . . . it tends to be a more familiar and warm description. Anyhow, thank you again for the comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate the beautiful and charming CITY of Cordoba.
By thé way,por cierto.
