I believe it left calgary around 7, most likely will be late this evening. Although 4805 is not leading, it is still worth seeing.

There are indeed two whistles! One is from a selkirk that is air-actuated, with super heated steam, giving it that on/off sound. It was added to meet FRA regulations as the original did not meet the minimum decibals when the locomotive is at high speeds. The whistle in this video is the original whistle for 2816(although I am almost certain there was a switch at somepoint back in the day). This whistle has much more depth and tone to it in my opinion, and this was the first time I heard it in real life! Good question and thank you for commenting!

Yeah, this is the locomotive used for AWVR 767 in Unstoppable. Forgot about this video lol.

Every Saturday from 11-3, every Thursday from 6-8, and every Tuesday from 12-4. I am only there on Thursdays and Saturdays, almost every week. Just not this Saturday.

They don't usually run caboose on passenger trains, plus they probably don't have any restored caboose.

It was, they are there for support, in case of a breakdown, ans because they do not want to work the locomotive too hard because this is a long time, they will use them to push in notch 1 or 2. They are also used for braking.

@@PersonmadudeRailwayProductions You did a good job of video work, some artistry in there, a story. It is quite a joy to watch those drivers and connecting rods do their thing. It is almost hypnotizing!.. I have seen this train up close in 2012 in Salmon Arm BC, have videos from it at that time. A glorious restoration. But that IMAX movie went all out and could watch it over and over again. Yup, you did OK!

This was taken over the course of the last two Saturdays, some footage from both. You should come by one of these Saturdays, we are open 11AM-3PM Saturdays, 12PM-4PM Tuesdays(can't be there on Tuesdays myself), and Thursday's 6-8PM. Then, this next Saturday, I will not be there but at the train show at the Western Development Museum in Moose-Jaw.

Yes, it was a good one, and I very much clutched it. They actually beat us out of Regina, which was the intended spot, and then they were working the elevator, prompting us to try and catch up. They were stopped, letting me get lots of photos. Of course, I only put my two favorite in here.
