@bornasns wish I could tell, these engines don't have oil pressure sensors and I don't have a gauge to plumb into it. The oil pump is designed to run at 4.7bar with a pressure relief valve set at 10bar.

Do you how oil pressure is regulated? Since theres no oil pressure solenoid?

I mean in the new ones that comes with a plug instead of the solenoid. Does the pressure remains constant?

@Mientras_Tanto yes, it remains at the pressure the oil pump is producing rather than being reduced through the solenoid.

@Mientras_Tanto just like any standard oil pump, there will be a pressure relief valve in the oil pump to prevent any over pressurising

@Dbdiagnosticsltd it was new to me too but I've seen it mentioned a few times on the owners forums/Facebook pages. If a £20 plug helps prolong the life of the engine I'm all for it.

@MJF85 in all fairness I'm on two pages on Facebook and I've never seen it mentioned on either of them, I have a 2015 sprinter on 230k no issues out of the normal. But I know these engines with regular servicing will do 500k no issue

@MJF85 I'm not on those forums only Facebook ones, sprinters dating back to 2000 year didn't have oil pressure sensors. Only thing on the commercial side that had oil pressure sensors was the trucks, although now the 907 chassis with the om654 engine does have oil pressure sensors.

@MJF85 cheers for replying, I'll take the old girl to the local garage and see if they can do it. Keep getting the orange oil light coming on, switch off and on again seems to temporarily cure it. Thanks again 👍

@@PatrykAdam. hello mate, depends on how the inside of the vacuum lines look. If they’re looking all white and crystallised I would be deffo changing the complete system

@GregVirgoe Hi Greg, less than you might think, I'm sure I bought 3 litres but had plenty left, if I remember right it only took about 1.5litres. This was on my self build camper I did 4 yrs ago, thanks for sharing your vids 👍

Phoned Mercedes and they said it takes .3 of a litre but only sell it in 5 L absolutely stupid

@HG.Emmanuel use a drill bit or bolt as a locking pin, that should be enough to hold it whilst unbolting the oil pump

@@MJF85 Ive changed it today, but iam not sure how far it have to go in. Ive used an Allen key for locking it. It only went in a few cemtimeters, it locked but it had little play but i think it did its job😅

Is the hole just to counteract or is there another reason for locking it?

@HG.Emmanuel I think the oil pump also has balance shafts in it, the timing of these is a little less critical than the crank to camshaft timing so you should be OK with a little bit of movement

@bluesurfertodd You want to see someone pushing a window frame into a hole? That's literally all that's missing 🤷‍♂️ and its as simple as that, push in, screw the inside frame on. Thought that bit would be pretty boring to see. Thanks for the comment though.

@@MJF85 for someone who has not done it before, I'd like to see the whole thing, but point taken. : ). Also wondering if the windows have to be curved or can any flat window be installed in the van walls. Embarking on choosing the windows very soon.

@bluesurfertodd it was my first time too, measure a lot before cutting, if it looks right just go for it. The van walls are slightly curved, they deform a little bit with flat windows but not enough for it to be massively noticeable.

@northgeorge40 Loss pf power and eml on but no smoke. Smoke usually indicates a boost leak or intake air restriction, I'd be checking for air leaks in the intake system.

@@MJF85 My fuel gauge jumps from minimum to maximum, and vice versa, it does not work correctly.

It's not a good idea to drive it with the hose clamped, it could cause too high boost pressure. Hard to tell without seeing it and diagnosing, ideally needs a vacuum tester to test everything moves as it should, possibly smoke test to check for leaks.

Vacum tested all the hose and changed both solenoids. Whats the next step?@@MJF85

Fan covers just clip on, watch from around 4:20, fan should then be able to be spun freely.
