In this video I'm testing the Zeiss Ikon Contina IIa, a $15 vintage camera that proved to be a hidden gem! In this video, I’ll showcase the amazing photos taken with this ...
Holga - When Imperfection Becomes Art
มุมมอง 4021 วันที่ผ่านมา
The known world of creative unpredictability with the Holga 120 GCFN, a legendary camera famous for its charming quirks. In this video, I explore the beauty of imperfection while shooting Ilford HP5 Plus 400 black-and-white film at a local park and creek. Though my Holga has minimal light leaks-thanks to taping the film counter window-its distinctive vignetting and unique distortions turn techn...

Quite artsy :) keep making vids. I’m keen to see how your video style develops.
@NatalieRosellaBoonzaier Thanks! I was quite touched when I figured out what I captured with test shots over time. Btw: I got my Proxar lens test roll back 😉 uhm... will share worst practices soon.
@ lol ☺️
Nice sound
Thanks for noticing! I think the sound really helps to convey the feeling of tranquility. And thank you for watching and leaving a like! Highly appreciated
Henry, do you know what the name is of that scaler?
Unfortunately, not (I can't remember). But it came those days a) in the box you have b) on the back of the case I have (that's the one in the video). You can find them on eBay or Catawiki. I got mine from a photo shop in the Netherlands.
I worked on this topic for some hours today (and tried to remember things from ~4-5 decades ago). I'm doing a write-up based on theory and the scaler.
@ cool! might you be posting that at some point?
Yupp, on my blog page photography.myvortexcloud.com/ I think I will be ready over the weekend. Wrote a first draft yesterday. Happy to collaborate!!
@NatalieRosellaBoonzaier I worked through the morning. The blog is ready. Please check it out, leave a comment, ditch it or ... lol photography.myvortexcloud.com/blog/contina-iia-proxar
I like the photo at 3:16 :)
Thank you! It means a lot to me and is also one of my favorites. My other favorites are 2:26, 2:32, and 4:22 (90 cm distance). I need to rescan the negatives for better print quality. Because I didn't expect anything spectacular, I let the lab scan standard (without extra payment). The old farm is such a tranquil place; the creek (with salmons) and the old nursing trees are just wonderful. I can sit there forever, taking photos.
Photo at 1:02 is just lovely.
The most liked/fav on Flickr :-) - so, you confirmed too it's not so bad :-)
@ I think you should consider printing that one.
I didn’t know about the Afilm app. I’m going to check that one out. Looks handy.
Find it very helpful. I first take a photo with my smartphone as a thumbnail of the composition before shooting. There is also Crown & Flint I tested, but it's not free.
Looking forward to seeing more From Your Front Door.
@NatalieRosellaBoonzaier thank you so much, very motivating! In the making, stay tuned 😎
