Hello Greg thanks for stopping by the channel! So a little back story about Clearwater Country Club.The railway was there (1890's) long before the club was built.In 1920 the city officials approved the golf course build. So British Architect Herbert Strong began working on the plans.The railroad bisected the property as did the Stevenson Creek.That is why the club's layout is a little strange! I liked the club but not the layout so much. I will say this when we played the greens were lightning fast! Thanks Greg for visiting the channel we really appreciate it! Enjoy your holidays!

Thanks for stopping by the channel we really appreciate that so much! So we usually stay at the resort every year around Thanksgiving for like 4 days and play twice. Last year we were leaving on a Friday. We decided to play one more round before new drove back home. So I went to the pro shop and paid for the round but it was very expensive! I said the the girl behind the register ....she was maybe in her 40's ... why is the fee so much higher? She said that it is a weekend rate. I said WHAT! You mean that Friday now is considered the weekend?? Added. $ 22.50 per person so an extra $45.00 dollars. I said to my wife that's it! We will never play this course or stay here ever again we don't need them at all. Very stupid people they just lost another customer who would spend quite a bit of money to stay there etc....NEVER AGAIN! I trashed the resort for their unusual practices. Enjoy your day! You should play Juliette Falls in Dunellon it's so very fine but you will pay from 50 to 70 for the round but it is worth it! As always call ahead to Mae sure that they are not aerating...that goes for all courses! Take care.

I learned a long time ago that once in a while I would get to the course only to find that they just finished aerating and the greens were rough, this goes for any course you play. Hello Justin I do remember you. Hernando Oaks is our home course but I do not play it anymore since I have a problem with the Golf Club owner. No great loss there are over 1100 courses in Florida. I am in the middle of battling Covid-19 at this time. The golf channel was doing very well over a year ago with over 4600 subscribers and I was making some revenue off it until it was hacked. I had to dismantle the channel and start all over again. I became discouraged and it is at this point that I really don't pay attention to the channel. I may post a few videos before years end. I started a family vlog channel less than a year ago and it's just starting to get off the ground.. Haven't played much golf but when I do it's with my wife. We thankfully sold the jaguar it was a trouble car from the start. Nice to hear from you Justin I appreciate the sub! Be well.

When we played the course they were starting to renovate the clubhouse.When buying real estate you may want to make sure there are no sink holes in or around the area. You can go to "plotscan.com" . There you will find out on the map once you type in the address if there was sink hole activity as well as the path of any tornado or hurricane. Then you toggle over the multi collared balloons a dialogue box will pop up. This will show you the date and remedy if any of the sink hole etc. Best regards, Al Lanz

Metro West was a beautiful golf club years ago. Not so much anymore. They are working on the clubhouse and greens. Lack of money really made this club fall apart.

@@waltersreads Well Matt I don't want to discourage you. The greens are probably still nice. From tee to green though I really don't know. If you live kind of close check it out for yourself. Also as always call the pro shop no matter which club you play to see if they aerated recently!

Inverness was played quite a while ago. I do not know the condition of the course at this time. I know that they recently posted a cheaper greens fee through "Group Golfer" for 2 weeks. Which tells me that they are looking to increase sales. Enjoy your round!

Played it on Saturday and it was exactly as you described it and I remembered how you played it and emulated a few of your shots

Good morning! I am so sorry to hear this! When we lived in Clearwater we used to play the course once a week. At that time the fairways were a little better than average. The bunkers were maintained about average and the greens were spectacular fast, rolled well and were in great shape. That was from 2013 thru to about 2019 or so. They must of had a different grounds superintendent. As far as the people in the pro shop they were fine. So I don't know if they had a turnover of staff there but I really wish that you had a better experience. I know that the population has soared here in Florida...it seems like no one left to go home here! Most courses are still crowded here which is insane!

Alright it's pretty tricky. I hit a 6 iron. Because it is downhill and my 6 iron carry is 185 + roll out to about 205 yds. The second shot over the berm is usually from 150 to 165 depending on pin placement. You definitely do not want to hit driver and you definitely do not want to be left off the tee. Enjoy!

Yes John it was most disturbing. I had over 4,600 subscribers at the time. I will give you one example. In "TH-cam studio" is where I do all my uploads, edits, thumbnails,dialogue,information etc. So one day I was working in TH-cam studio and someone else was behind the scenes manipulating my thumbnails and videos, it was freaky! This went on for about 5 months, TH-cam who is owned by Google never responded to any of my concerns. I had to dump the channel so I did. Several months went by and my wife and I decided all the work that went into the videos should not be thrown away so I opened a new channel and only kept the videos that were the best and I did not upload any videos that I felt was not necessary for the viewers. This process did take me 3 full days about 30 hours of work. Very discouraging and just knocked me out. So I no longer listen to TH-cam about publishing videos every week. It is way too much work regarding golf since I use 6 programs to produce just 1 video. Anyway John that is the short version of what happened. I did not care about the money I lost...not doing it for money anyway. We have a new channel out called A & L Today. It is a family vlog channel. I am now working on the renovation of our bathrooms that will be coming out in April! Thanks John for your concern we appreciate you!

Thanks for the compliment! When I played 3 times a week my handicap dropped to 1.2 Considering I have chronic back issues I would break par 2 times a year. When I was a snot nose kid my handicap would fluctuate between + 2 & +3.5. I was going to apply to USF on a golf scholarship but went to work to support my mom and sister Because my father was a dead beat father back in the 70’s. So there went my college life and possible career as a pro. I probably would have been a great club professional. I really don’t think that I would have made the tour. Those guys are truly gifted! Anyway I really appreciate your comments and support for the channel!

Hey Aaron you are absolutely correct! We were all messed up that day. Also when we made the turn the owner or club Pro yelled at us for doing a video there so we left! That is why there is only 9 holes shown on the channel. I try to include golf clubs that are less desirable to view because that are usually in a financial bind of some sort. This place will not see us there ever again. Anyway thanks for stopping by we really appreciate you!

@@HangTimeGolfer7 That's so foolish of them, turning away free advertising. The course is atrocious, we only go there because it's cheap and my son and I are terrible anyways 😂 So it's cheap practice for us. But if we ever got a grump like you did, we'd probably never go back either. Such a shame.

True Aaron we are both in our 60’s and really just want to have fun. Weather is shoot low or high scores I really don’t care. I had my day in the sun a long time ago. It’s really amazing the things Ive had to put up with on some of these courses. Honestly it’s not worth it. Plus TH-cam doesn’t give a crap especially when my channel gets hacked some months ago. Very discouraging Aaron. Moving forward I think we will show only certain golf holes. Doing all 18 holes is a ton of work and more than half the viewers don’t watch the back 9. Glad you get out to play hopefully the weather will start to improve.

I've never seen a ranger in 50 rounds so don't see why they would bother anyone zero dress code hit as many balls as you want the most laid back course ever

Hey Bill thanks for visiting the channel. Actually there were 2 issues with my approach shots. First I only play 1 or 2 times a month as a result my contact was way off and at this point in my life I always play rusty which is indicated by my ever increasing handicap.As of Feb 12,2024 my handicap is now 5.9. The second issue is that my range finder was off by between 5 and 8 yards depending on how far I am from the pin. The further away the more the range finder was off...so be it. There's more to life than golf! Been playing since 1974 and I'm pretty much all but finished with golf. The only thing keeping me playing occasionally is my wife, she likes playing so there it is! Enjoy what is left of this channel Bill.

Funny you mentioned this course my wife and I passed by the course on our way up to Homosassa to eat a late lunch at Crumps Landing. I don't know when they will open there is a waiting list. Also I don't think that they provide golf carts, unless they changed that. Thanks for stopping by the channel!

Thanks for stopping by the channel. When you have played over 5 decades of golf all over from the Bahamas to Canada up and down the east coast most golf courses are pretty much not to exciting. However there is usually 1 maybe 2 golf holes if you're lucky that stand out from the rest of the golf holes on the course and that can make for some interesting play.

I used to teach some time ago however I am onto new life adventures! For a beginner starting to learn golf. I suggest that they get proper lessons from a qualified instructor. It's all about ones level of ability. Correct fundamentals is critical especially in the beginning. Simple things like stance, grip,where to play the ball in the stance and some basic theory of "what happens to the ball if I do ?" Players do need to know why a golf ball reacts a certain way when they hit it. This is not always taught by instructors. Enjoy the game!
