What is the compass?
As young people struggling in this complex world one of the things we realised is that young people need a compass, something along with the lamp and the map - that we can work out specifically as young people - and we came up with an acronym - 8 points, something we love because there’s 8 points on the compass, it’s the word…

8 points like on a compass, and so tonight we thought we’d share with you those 8 points
8 points to guide the life of a young person
8 principles for a life focussed on seeking God’s presence
So I’ve got 8 friends with us tonight and they’re going to share a little about each point of the compass to God’s presence.

Have you ever put yourself there with the children of Israel, seeing all that they saw, experiencing all that they experienced in the early chapters of Exodus?
Stark reminders that God remembers His people, that with God - all things are possible! The story of the Exodus is a timeless message as we prepare for the greater type in our own discipleship: overcoming Egypt, stepping into roles within the work of the Truth, getting to know God, trusting in a future deliverance.
We worship a changeless God who operates under changeless principles - and God willing we will see ourselves in this story of the Exodus. Like the children of Israel, we are instructed to be prepared - with our shoes on our feet, our staff in our hand, prepared to leave Egypt behind.
As we prepare for an incredible week at AYC2023 through the use of this study, we prepare for what’s just beyond us as we walk together towards Zion. Even, so come!
