This audio file is a must hear for the men that run the Tribune Company, left scratching their heads as subscribers leave all Tribune Newspapers in droves. Special thanks to John and Ken at Radio KFI 640AM Los Angeles for sharing the audio ...

Wow, you have the same stackers as my job does.. Hall and Quipp ones. But everything else is very different. Werll, except for the piles of cardboard laying around everywhere. Looks a lot more high-tech than my job does!
How fast can you change the folder from straight to collect mode. My dad is a printer at The Oklahoman and he can change the folder over in 6 mins. This is only changing the mode in the folder. The whole press set-up takes about 45 mins with 4 men. This includes all reel changes and unit mode and ink changes.(mode and ink changes mean putting in 4 color comic leads)
Depends on if the folder is 2:1 or 3:2. A 2:1 folder change is very quick.
Goss
Damn dude that's ancient
1968 as I recall
thats fukin far nigga !!! cant afford that much gas !! SHIIIT LOOOOOOOOLz
The Los Angeles Times Newspaper delivery in Los Angeles is ridiculous. The carriers are lazy and usually miss a day or two. All customer service calls are routed to the Philippines. The company reported it would be better off training and hiring in the Phillipines than its own city that it serves. I cancelled my subscription. Instead use various internet sites for news it's, faster, more accurate, and you save lots of trees. GO GREEN.
Great to see a video of the Colorliner. Goss presses are built to last and the Colorliner is no exception. There are many new and old Goss Colorliners in production today. The latest US installation was at the New York Times. It's a very impressive installation.
dude is a natural..!!
I miss being a pressman.. Got laid off after 15 yrs.
@Snotra GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!
@jmones1 When I was in my Apprenticeship I had a Pressman show me how to do just that. He never, ever got caught.
Nice to see that kind of old machine's still rolling, our 52 doubledeck unit Goss went to srapmetall few years ago and new bigger printmachine was set up. Still missing that old slow simple Metroliner witch was easy to repair and sounded like a "real" print.
yeah just the same as what we got at polestar sheffield (uk) but move mini disks about but still they drive into the forklifts all of the time but were in the wrong waste of time and money
hahaha I was there, it was so funny.
I wanted to express to you that I'm sorry for your loss. I just learned today what had happened to Bryan. I went to grade school with Bryan, from what I remember he had THEE most kindest heart! My friend that also went to school with him thought to look him up through google in hopes of finding him on Facebook, but, found the TH-cam videos instead. My heart goes out to your family. Take Care!
The Los Angeles Times used to be an award-winning newspaper. Under Otis Chandler's tenure, it was second only to the N.Y. Times. Now...it's bankrupt! Thank you, Mr. Zell. Great job.
Bringing back old memories,we had Goss metroliner with 31 units and in 10 years i have made many many good pasters,;))) but we made them in V or W shape and with one black tape for speed control and one little aluminium tape for eye which dropped out just that newspaper
How can I get a hold of this band? I really need to talk to justin d.!
I am starting to wonder, how big is the place where you keep the spare parts?
Hmm sucks. I know how you feel. My brother was driving drunk and crashed while I was talking to him on the phone. He lived for 2 years in a wheel chair with no feeling from the chest down. He died from bed sores. Losing anybody is impossible to explain how it feels unless you've gone through it. All you can do is hope they are somewhere better.
Maybe its the grammage? We put your pattern on with light grammage full roll, but, say a 100gsm reel we would put on a straight splice.
Man Roland Rotoman, 65,000 iph. Nuff said.
It`s even better when you smash a blanket at that speed. You find pieces of it everywhere lol.
Well my press only runs 42,000 but it is fun to hear that chrashing noise wen the web breacks.
Went at San Antoni texas went to the 44" paper. Now running the 26.7 lbs. paper with all kinds on problems.
I worked in a pressroom with 18 Enkles It was HELLLLLLLLLLL Yup ding ding ding ding..........katoink......bubububububububbuub bu buhhh WRAP UP
@edp53 I run a Goss Headliner with 8 RTP's just like your video. What kind of paster pattern is that? I see the black tape, but our double stick tape is put on in a V pattern with a nose. Just like the Goss manual shows.
Why would you let it keep humping around on you? You're sick.
not implying anything but it's always white people...
Can't you come up with anything more original than that, Adolph?
