Winter Skill Building
มุมมอง 49วันที่ผ่านมา
Brian Bailie addresses GolfCask members about off-season golf training during winter, emphasizing skill acquisition over technical work. He highlights three key areas to focus on indoors: putting from six feet and in, short game mechanics, and goal setting. For putting, he recommends drills for speed and face control using indoor tools like mats and phantom cups. Short game practice can include...

But why does bourbon have to come from Kentucky?
It does not need to come from Kentucky. Can only come from the United States by law 1964. Kentucky just makes the most 😁. Great bourbons are made in many states.
I used to mix up the rules for bourbon and straight bourbon. Straight bourbon must be aged for a minimum of 2 years in a charred oak container, and if it’s under 4 years old, it requires an age statement. For Kentucky bourbon, it must be produced in Kentucky and aged at least 1 year in Kentucky to earn that designation. Got to love Bourbon😅
Since when? It has to be stored in Kentucky to be a bourbon as well

Those additional flavours are either from the barrels they have been sitting in, or they have been added like an additive.
Don’t forget the yeast / fermentation too.
@@Golfcask I agree. Adding anything to enhance the flavor is additive including flavoured yeast.
In northern California, I got a 750ml for 12.99 at the local supermarket. Cheers!
@@theWZZA a great bourbon for the price. Cheers
Awesome whiskey
Could have just said club head seeing as most clubs have hosels.
Who cares? It’s not bourbon. Tastes like seaweed.
You made me laugh, well played.
They came up with the method and idea. We perfected it in Kentucky. End of debate.
Yeah why go to therapy when you can just be an alcoholic
Drink responsibly my friend. You can also tee it InPosition:-)
I'd suggest using a laser on the multi ball drill so you can tell if those 5 golf balls are actually lined up properly
Btw, I love a good bourbon! Subbed.
Who doesn’t. What’s you go to pour.
@ BT if I can buy it out of state. Can’t buy it in OK. But it’s my favorite. Knob Creek is my next choice. Last, Benchmark because it’s cheap. lol.
@@jeffpaul606knob creek is good. The rye and bourbon mix bottle is good
@@Golfcask I will have to try that! Thanks!
I like this drill. I use a laser on the floor also to help me train. I definitely always think my aim is more right even after determining it’s perfectly straight. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
As a coach I am amazed how often people fail to train their perception. Love you added a process to monitor yours.
Thanks for the breakdown! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Thanks for your comment. Cheers
I thank you for that my friend All on a journey.
"Oban", it sounds like - oh ban.... Not "obaan"... Very much down vote.
Thank you for your comment. Cheers.
@Golfcask I at least explained why
Love the idea of this drill because I know for a fact my perception has my putts veering right of the hole all the time. Can’t wait to try this and figure out how to adjust my perception.
Let me know what you discover!
I caddy at my course (I am also a member, 50, and hcp19) 90% of people who I caddy for, who are usually lower (so that say) HCPs of 12/18 than me have generally awful set up and their eyeline is not over the putter. (can spot this easily from the heavily toe up putters) I would say if they were shooting a rifle they would not even have there eye behind the scope! Most seem to have as you say some kind of work around. When they ain for left edge it goes straight etc. Its been an interesting few years doing the job. The "caddy game" is trying to work out in the first few holes that if you tell them the put is right edge and they hit it 2balls left where do you start to lie/tell then the line is it to work for their own perceived aim bias. Do they have an aim bias or are they just bad at any form on consistency?
Most golfers struggle with a bias in their aim or setup-whether it’s a fear of missing low, hitting it short, or another concern. The real issue isn’t the bias itself but the root cause behind it. As a coach, understanding why a player thinks the way they do is just as important as analyzing how they hit the ball. Over the years, I’ve used this assessment tool with players at all levels, from tour professionals to club players. It’s amazing how this awareness can transform their setup and motion. Every action has an equal reaction, and some of the best breakthroughs happen when I step back, ask the right questions, and let the player sort it out themselves. Coaching is about guiding, not dictating.
And if no progress. We just go have a whiskey
🎉🎉🎉
I agree. Heaven Hill is a stable at my house. Also love that it is easy to find. Fine bourbon.
I enjoy it a lot. Super sweet and easy to find for 49.99 in Austin,TX.
It is not Glen Skota!
nice catch....
Let me know how doing wrist only chip worked for you....... it can be a bit rough to not mov other parts, trust me when I first started this I struggled.
Nice video 🤘🏻
Thank you. You have any thoughts on any of those whiskeys?
Whisky not whiskey.
Fair enough. whisky it is ;-)
@@Golfcask Well done. It was Mackinlay’s Rare Old Highland Malt Whisky. As you probably know Irish whiskey has the e.
Drinks strong as shit tho 😂

2010? Do better. This is not his current swing.
His swing is much better today for sure. But this game can make some of the best athletes look bad…..nothing but love for Charles…

Panning too fast. Can’t make out 3/4 of the bottles.

Practice
The key is what to practice….if and when you have time
My putting used to suck ...........the change was I STARTED PUTING IN THE TIME AND PRACTICED FOR HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS .....now im an EXCELLENT PUTTER ........the time put in gave me clarity and CALMED MY MIND !!!!! this IS THE TRUE KEY.
