    I know this video is older lol, but I love my Dyson airstrait! It doesn’t get it none straight but straight enough to where I don’t feel like I HAVE to flat iron unless o really want very sleek hair. Most times I just put soft rollers in it after and I’m good!

    Hello Samara. Your review was sooo good!! I did one, also 3 years ago and at the time, I felt that the Dyson air wrap was a waist of money as I only used the paddle brushes. But I have since bought the newer version and cannot wait to try it again as it appears to be a bit more powerful and as I have long hair, the longer barrels will be way better!! ❤

  • @gemmaferris4619

    Thanks so much for the video. I have keratin treated hair but as I have quite a lot of hair I cannot manage my hair when it is longer that shoulder length without the dyson supersonic. I've had the supersonic for three years and three years and corrale for two years. As my hair gets longer very tempted my thr newer air wrap with the wide comb attachment and ro curl and wave my hair. Do you think it's worth it or should I just get a curling wand? Or persevere with trying to curl with my corrale?

    • @samaralynch
      @samaralynch 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m so happy that you found the video useful! I get exactly what you mean, it’s nice to have the length but longer hair is definitely a chore to manage sometimes. In terms of curling and waving, my go to is a flat iron or a curling want for waves and curls. I find the curls are more defined and hold much longer than with the airwrap. That being said, I’ve been exploring volume over definition lately and I want to experiment with the airwrap more, I also want to reduce the amount of direct heat on my hair so another plus for the airwrap there. TLDR, curling wand or flat iron for definition and hold, airwrap for volume and reduction of heat. How do find the corrale? I’m looking to replace my ghds and I’m open to recommendations!

    • @gemmaferris4619
      @gemmaferris4619 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@samaralynch it took me a good year to really adjust to the corrale and I almost returned it to start with. You need less tension and a slower movement compared to my death clamp, pulling and tugging at my hair to glide down as quickly as I could with my corioloss and cloud 9s. However, ultimately my hair is in a much better condition since I switched to the supersonic and corrale. During lockdown my hair was the longest and healthiest or has ever been. You need to use thin sections and chase with a comb for best results, though the size is quite wide, I like that I can get a good amount of hair in at once. I thought I was took a bit longer, but when I improved my blow out technique I realised that the hard work is done there the corrale really doesn't have to do that much. I do not feel guilty about heat damage, I don't miss that smell of hot burning metal and my hair has stayed good condition (considering I have been bleaching it for the last two years). I love the cordless feature especially if I'm traveling at somewhere where the power points are not close to the mirror. The only thing I really dislike is that it is quite bulky which is amazing when you want to wave, flick, curl under as it just gives the look of a set or prof blow dry with round brush but I cannot get it up into my roots. So I have a mini babyliss was straighteners that I use especially when my keratin treatment is due and I have puffy roots. I've tried using friend's straighteners and now I always seem to miss the corrale which is strange because I didn't instantly take to to it. The Supersonic is my favourite Dyson hair tool, saves so much time, my hair is in amazing condition, I just could not love without. The corrale is the best straightener for me so I don't damage my hair and can easily glam up for a special occasion. I haven't quite mastered curling with it to do with angle I don't keep my hand at. Which is why I am now considering getting the airwrap, but keep seeing the airstrait videos so again I cannot decide 🤔

    • @samaralynch
      @samaralynch 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      oh no! I talked myself out of the corrale a while ago because of the price, but I think you've just persuaded me haha I was looking at the cloud 9s originally but it looks like Dyson are going to be getting more money out of me 😅 I'm not sure you'll get glossy curls from the airwrap, kind of like how the airstrait isn't a flat iron, its a hairdryer for blow outs - curls on the airwrap are like blowout curls, theyre not quite the same as curls using direct heat from a flat iron or wand.

    • @gemmaferris4619
      @gemmaferris4619 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@samaralynch sorry I don't have shares in Dyson, I wish I could then I could get a discount or more easily afford their products. I cannot currently source the air wrap, or separate attachments they I would want for the airwrap so think I will try curling again with the corrale. If that works then save my £s for the airstrait when it finally launches in the UK later this year!

      I haven't used Hot Tools, but I used to have the Revlon version and I switched to the Dyson for the same reason. I could smell the heat on my hair after using the Revlon (I don't with the Airwrap) and it was quite heavy as well. I did like the size of the brush better on the Revlon, but Dyson has released a larger round brush since I bought the Airwrap, something to consider! In any case, a heat protectant is a must - I like the KeraCare one, there's a link in the description if you're interested x

    But do I need either? Costco has the air wrap and the shark flex style.

    • @samaralynch
      @samaralynch 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for commenting! I haven't used the Shark flex style but the things I would be looking for when comparing it to the Dyson Airwrap would be 1) does it have all the attachments you want? For me, I'd want a Firm Brush, a Round Brush, a Pik and a Diffuser, 2) Do people with a similar hair texture to you like it? Are they using it for the same kind of styles you want to do? 3) weight - which one would you prefer to hold for an extended period of time? 4) practicality - do people look awkward when using it in videos? 5) quality - are multiple people reporting similar issues with the product? I hope that helps! I also have a more detailed review of the Dyson Airwrap on my channel if you want more info x

    Just wondering how your hair can so easily get that stretch from roots to tips with the blow dryer alone and no brush. Is your hair textlaxed? I wonder if this straight result is possible without brush on 4c hair. Thanks!

    • @samaralynch
      @samaralynch 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, the attachments on the airwrap and hairdryer mean that you dont need a brush, its one of the reasons I like them so much. I've used the avlon texture release a few times but I think its mostly worn off by now. My hair is mostly 4a and 4b but the hair at the nape of my neck and above my ears is 4c and it works well enough! Hope that helps x

  • @HereDiianas
    @HereDiianas 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi and great review. But from the first test you did with the airwrap it seems that you could get your hair dry in 4 passes vs 10 for the blowdryer. So it seems to me that if you had done you entire hair without changing the head of the tool you would have been even faster with the airwrap and even faster compared to the blow drier... Also the airwrap has a wide tooth comb option and it can curl our flat ironed hair. I also think that many spend a lot of money on Dyson to minimize damaged hair so if the airwrap can curl, stretch and dry the hair the same way with less heat, it's a winner for me. Although I must say that the moving head/ comb in the blowdryer is genius!

    • @samaralynch
      @samaralynch 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! I'm going to do a video dedicated to the hairdryer soon, I've been using it a bit more since I recorded this and I think I've found a way to dry my whole head much more quickly. It's so difficult to decide between the two! I 100% agree, the airwrap is much more versatile than the hairdryer but it has its drawbacks - I actually still prefer to use a curling iron or flat iron for curls instead of the airwrap. If your someone that's just looking for something to give you an easy blowout, the hairdryer is a much cheaper option and just as good as the airwrap at that x

  • @HereDiianas
    @HereDiianas 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do the curls last on silk pressed hair? Would have loved to see how the curls look on flat ironed hair. I have seen reviews on the other new product, the airstrait and they alll say that it is a lotoo of heat, more than the airwrap on high heat.

    • @samaralynch
      @samaralynch 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The curls are good for adding body to the hair, but I wouldn't trust it if I wanted defined curls to hold all day. I prefer to use my flat iron or a curling iron for that. Would you be interested in a comparison video?
