We are the University of Washington's Formula Motorsports division. Look us up at www.uwformula.com Based in the Mechanical engineering department, we design build and race a brand new formula style race car every year. We compete in a number of the Formula SAE and Formula Student competitions around the world.
This is Formula.
Over the last nine months, our team has tirelessly built, tested, and refined our fully electric racecar, T35. The countdown begins, with only 28 days left until we compete against the best collegiate teams in the world and push our car to its limits. Fueled by passion and driven by determination, watch as we unleash our potential from June 11th-16th at Michigan's International Speedway!

As his dad, thankfully i dragged his butt to the junkyards at age 15 to learn to rebuild a wrecked $1300 junker i bought for him as his first car. It was worthy of a Kodak video moment to see how pissed he was after i dragged the wrecked beater home with a crushed hood, dented in fender, headlight assembly in pieces & a caved in bumper cover.

Yes, the UW ME department has an older phantom for lab use which we were allowed to borrow.

Do you guys do everything yourself or send some to other expertise workshop to do it for you guys?
We send our uprights to a local 5-axis specialist! Beyond that, just anodization and other smaller tasks get outsourced.
How about some technical specs of the car. Explain the background of the program, etc instead of that god awful background music.

***** We're saving ~ 2 lbs. on each wheel shell compared to last year's. We are currently working on a new unidirectional fiber layup that should be even lighter :)
