    Is there a tutorial on this one? Or similar?? I want to do the same thing

    • @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND

      Sorry, no tutorial. We kept it pretty simple. Take out back seat, use chunks of plywood to create a foundation to mount the platform to on the bottom, add a hinge and back half, and where it meets the back of the truck we drilled through and added rivnuts to the holes to bolt into easily. After it was mounted we took it out and coated it with a poly-stain and added the tie-down point specifically where we needed them for his fridge and power bank. The odd tool was the RIV NUT tool but not alot on Amazon. Aside from that a skill saw and some drills were what we used.

    The Rear Seat is the PITS on all Newer TOYOTA Pickups. The orginal Plastic is the pits for storing long items like a 4 foot level.. or fly fishing rods. Baby seat. Forget it. Toyota needs to listen to us with Seat time and use over time. Things that actually matter over time and make for better functional use of inside cabin space. Not just toss out a truck with a bunch of useless stuff we're going to remove and toss in the garbage.

    whats the advantage of a thumb throttle?

    • @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND
      @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND ปีที่แล้ว

      For long periods, it hurts my wrist to twist that throttle and my second reason is that I like to run a finger or 2 over the brakes for emergency braking. When you're twisting the throttle you cant also be ready on the rear brake.

    Hello good sir!👋 looks like you are living to the fullest! I was wondering if you would be willing to do a tour video of your project M camper, showing the feature package you picked and what you think of it. Maybe if you can tell us how your experience went with the installation. I want to invest in a project M, but there are a limited amount of videos on the camper. I really like your set up👍

    • @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND
      @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND ปีที่แล้ว

      I absolutely will do a follow on video soon. In a nutshell, the installation with Mule Expedition out of Tualatin, OR was fantastic. They bolted through the bedrails and added extra leak protection around the bed rail, which to date has not leaked. I had the camper-built solar and power ready and the fantastic fan in the rear because I felt like I could open the lower stock window If I needed more air movement. I wish I added the external/internal rails for a bit more plug-and-play but I've been good otherwise. The decked system elevated the bed so its easier for my 5ft 10 and wife 5ft 4 to climb on the rails into bed and consumed my 2 large bins into the drawers. It is a continuous learning experience but I really love the combination.

    I have to ask .. how long do you go out for ? And do you carry a self defense item ?

    • @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND
      @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND ปีที่แล้ว

      This was 3 days and 2 nights. This was the longest bike packing trip I've done. For trips up to recently, I've always had a pepper spray and pistol, this trip I only had the fogger pepper spray. On most of my trips back country I have a firearm. I hope I'm never in the situation to actually use it but I would rather be judged by the jury than bury my family or they bury me, whether its due to an animal or human. I find there are a lot more weird things happening in secluded areas than in recent history. I'm not sure if that is a media thing or reality but it makes me feel safer. Stay safe and return home but also don't be afraid to get out there and explore. We have a lot of great people and destinations in this country.

    • @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND
      @ADVENTUREAROUNDTHEBEND ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shamrock4840 Before taking it bikepacking I flew to Bentonville, AR with it and rode trails for a few days. From that experience, I felt it was slack enough to charge the chunky downhill, small drops, small jumps, and climbing were all very good. It feels harsh but I honestly chalk it up as a hardtail feel. After a couple days my legs started to compensate quite well and I honestly wasn't missing my full suspension. For the bikepaking I feel it holds the load very well and is an extremally friendly frame for triangle bags and attachment points or aftermarket parts . The 29 wheels feel like they keep the momentum very well and getting into a decent cadence is quite easy. The only thing I changed on the drive train was the 32-tooth front ring to a 30T. I have a lot of hills around me and I aint racing this bike, so I feel it was my greatest upgrade. Plus for the money, it is the best bang for your buck. I normally run middle-of-the-road components and I feel this was spot on especially when I compare it to my buddy's chameleon. I hope this helps.

      Use STRAVA to find the segments but you can find them if you explore the OROTE PT airfield. Head to the junction where the MOTO safety course containers are and just start looking in the trees. There is trails on both sides of the main air strip. Its been since July that I was riding them so not sure how much people have kept up on the maintenance.

      Naval Base Guam around the Airfield. If your familiar with STRAVA there should be segments on there to scout out. I am not sure how much maintenance has been happening since I left in July but I see people riding some of them so they are not all overgrown. We had a lot of features and fun jump/drops.

      It is on your way to the Tarzan Falls trail head by the wind mill coming from Big Navy side. You turn off on Raceway road (left) and drive past all the housing to wherever you want to stop on the side of the dirt road and then ride toward the top while staying slightly right and you will eventually drop into Tarzan falls. Be cautious because after this flow section (when dry) it gets fairly gnarly to the bottom and back up the other side.
