these are by far the most original redesigns, and I love them, if these are in a game I can actually imagine what they do(following the new concepts ), I can see the fisher man slaping someone with a fish as one of his abilities (with a special alien/fish or something)

The problem with "reimagine" is that you didn't gave them more character but you did to in the lazy way. You say this person is a rocking so I gave them a guitar, or a blacksmith gets a hammer, fisherman gets a harpoon and fish. If you remove the items then you are back to....what do these characters do.

this is really awesome i feel like i just leveled up on my character design a bit i struggle with colors a bit i like the way rough sketches look myself i really wanna see what you think about like SNK art or do some kind of study on it like more so Shinkiro or Nona's art when they were around.

Just did a Rivals study myself, so it was really cool seeing how you approached it, great to find new youtube artist! regarding "thought lines" i think it might actually be referred to as "searching lines" in a professional context. im in no way a professional myself but i've heard it be called such in some proko videos

the only thing holding you back on this study is you blend too much Marvel rivals has a lot of sharp stone look and only 10-20% are the parts that are smooth

I know you dont ask for my advice but I think this helped me to improve doing my own arts : when studying color by coping another art, try to stop using pick color, try to find the color yourself, this help a lot to make your eyes better. i am not a artist so i don't know to point out what is givin me that feeling but for some reason the original jeff look that have more life and energy to it and yours look more tired . It can be the region of the eyes of the shark but anyways both are incredible similar and copy as you said in the video its not the end goal , GOOD work!!

I have been enjoying rivals and I enjoyed this videos look on the game. I myself am not a fan of the art but it grew on me through playing and I appreciate how comical they tried to make it, and it's spot on. Wolverine in particular was the hero that made me look at the art abit more. Great video and solid effort in your editing and style.

I think the only real issue with the face, or the reason why you might find that it looks so drastically detailed compared to the rest of the work, is that I think it's slightly over-valued. With the other parts of the body, you can see that there's only 2-3 main values that make up the compisition, whereas the face has somewhere around 5. A big draw of Marvel's style (and comic books/cel-shading in general) is that there are usually only 2-3 colors in a composition, INCLUDING gradients. The face lacked a lot of that dynamic contrast because of it, and seemed a bit too detailed compared to the rest of the body. Though I'm not as skilled as you are in rendering, I only have the technical knowledge. Fantastic work regardless. I just wanted to pitch a possible solution in case you ever wanted to experiment with this again👍

From talking to dozens of artists about learning character design they all say to begin sketching the characters you enjoyed and building your skills towards creating your own character. “Tracing” and “copying” are looked down on but we all start somewhere and if that’s what works best for you then do it and remember to always push your boundaries as an artist cause 1 bad drawing can be frustrating but the skills you learn from mistakes are irreplaceable.

Oh my god this is amazing!!! ❤ I always forget the power of art studies lmaoo. My two cents about the face is that it is insanely good. The eyes do look like they’re looking off in two different directions slightly and that there would be some lighting/shadow difference on the left side because of the jacket casting a little shadow and the light refracting off of it, in comparison with the harsh light. But you’re objectively wayyyy better than me so 😭 just might be worth playing around with, not that I actually know

The face was really good! That was great!! Genuinely enjoyed seeing the rivals style in your creation! The head looked great bigger and smaller. Perhaps lining it up with the other rivals characters might change perspective but it depends on what his body is doing.

I've been SCOURING artstation looking for any details about who the artists that worked on Marvel Rivals and yet I somehow missed that PYROOWDAILY worked on it?? (this is what I get for lessening the use of social media) Great job on the art study! Where did you get the png images at 8:40 ? my only current source is Rivalskins and they dont have those

So many cool ideas for characters with designs SO CLOSE to being good, and then everything just eats shit with enough force to shatter planets right before the finish line.

These designs are amazing! They're adventurous, little bit freaky, epic and telling so much story. But... they will never be accepted, cause they are built on stereotypes which the majority knows, loves, adore and have fun with. "The majority" and you know exactly how I would continue this and why it wouldn't go through. I'm going to be verbally killed for the rest of it and "freely speaking" online scares me nowadays. I just wrap it up. You made an incredible good job with the desigs. ❤ I'll say nothing else anymore.
