In Jamaica, braided mats are everywhere. While we make good use of natural resources such as palm fronds and banana leaves, we’re also resourceful (we’ve been upcycling before it was a thing). This video shows how we gave new life to old t-shirts.

Jamaicans were upcycling before it was cool. This is a craft that kids on the island have been doing for decades. This craft takes a used shirt and jazzes it up with a couple literal twists.
