    And there it is... Interesting that the term that brought me to this video was exactly the stage that I AM in... (While still being somewhat spread-out between the stages before and after - [as I AM also sure is quite natural].)

      Haha! Yep, that's how these things work. ;) And yes, as you'll see in the 'What is a Center of Gravity' video (th-cam.com/video/gmAGp4tWIa4/w-d-xo.html), that 'spread-out' feeling is completely normal.

      They are both copies of Latin grammars from England. The one behind me is a Lily's grammar from the 18th century. Lily's was basically THE textbook for (privileged white male) elementary school students in England for several centuries. I actually have an original hardcopy as well. It's definitely seen better days, but it's still readable. The wall on my right is papered with an Eton grammar from the 19th century. The Eton grammar was based on Lily's grammar, so it's basically the 19th century version of the same book. I have an interest in Latin in general and in the history of the western classical education system in particular because the former was the lingua franca of the western world for about two millennia, and the the latter was its vehicle. Deepening my familiarity with both allows me a richer and more direct understanding of the western wisdom tradition.

      @@JoulesPerRadian - I completely agree with your last statement. I've been studying "occult sciences" (of as many traditions that I can get my hands on) for decades, but becoming an ESL English teacher, submerging myself in grammar -- and getting VERY interested in etymology, as well as the elements of words (root + adfixes -- becoming "devices" with "function" rather than "meaning")... It was THEN that my Knowledge & Comprehension of everything that I had been, and still do, study MASSIVELY expanded. Interestingly it was "Vocabulary" that brought me to this video. I was suggested your video "What Are Shadows?" by TH-cam, which I thought was quite good. But you used terminology in that video (about the "Coral Stage" stage) that I needed to know more about to fully comprehend everything that you were speaking about. So I just decided to go back to your first video and start from there. ;)

      Are you familiar with the Trivium? It was the one consistent core of the western classical education from about the 5th century BCE onwards. It was composed of Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric, each of which had much broader definitions than they do today. These were whole worldviews. They started out on the surface level for grade school kids, but if/as the student progressed far enough (i.e. into Philosophy and Theology), they began to see the deeper meanings of these subjects. Inherent in Grammar, for instance, was the idea that EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD is a symbol, and that the world can be 'read' just like a book. This idea is essential for understanding other disciplines in the western wisdom tradition, like western magic.

    I haven't been on youtube much because I've been going outside when I have breaks in my day... So now that it's colder and I'm more inclined to be inside and get on youtube, I like that I can still get a little nature treat by putting on one of your videos. :D I have already been practicing the Sedona Method for myself a bit. It felt helpful to hear from this video why it can be important... that it clears the channel and helps with the flow of energy. I feel like I don't always recognize if an emotion is stuck or trying to get my attention, but if I notice that I have trouble accessing my Inner Guidance or thinking clearly or I feel like my energy is drained, that can be an indication that there are emotions to process. Also the experience that negative emotions can feel like they are expanding and getting more intense when getting closer to the Truth.... rings so true. xD

    as you describe Teal I keep thinking of Joan of Arc

    • @JoulesPerRadian
      @JoulesPerRadian หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh, wow, what an interesting thought! I'm going to think about this 'out loud' here. Okay, I'm assuming given the time period in which she lived and how young she was when she died that she probably wasn't actually in Teal stage. Teal stage would have been extremely rare if it was possible at all at that time, and it probably would have taken a long lifetime to get there. She would have had to go through all the previous stages of consciousness, and I don't see evidence of that in her history. It seems she was illiterate and didn't have much contact with other cultures, so that would have made it very difficult if not impossible to get through Green stage. And I don't see evidence of the universal unconditional love of Teal stage. In fact, she refers to her 'enemies'. That doesn't sound like Teal to me. Also, to my knowledge, her accounts of her visions stayed well within the established structure of local culture and beliefs of the time. Genuine Teal stage visions often have significant elements that are well outside conventional cultural context and understanding. So, having gone through this thinking, I'm now assuming that Joan's visions and fervor were from mystical experiences in Subtle and/or Causal states. Mystical experiences of spiritual states can happen at any stage of consciousness, and they can be both accurate, providing legitimate insights, and powerful, inducing utter conviction. But they will be interpreted through a filter of the stage of consciousness the person is at, e.g. a Red-Blue stage Christian lens. What do you think?

      I didn't go into a ton of detail about the new education system, because I intended this video to be an overview, but I really look forward to giving more detail. For example, one key difference in the education for earlier in development in contrast to our current conventional K-12 education is that it actively validates children's inner senses and magical experiences.

    Something I like to do is notate thoughts as I watch a video, so I am going to do that here. :P The very first sentence is already ringing out for me! "...Why we would want to communicate with them instead of having them argue with each other." I have noticed an intense desire in me especially the past few months to communicate and hold harmony in relationships instead of butting up against the beings I interact with. With your your first introductory words I am recognizing that I have GOT to start that process inside my self. I already knew that, but hearing it out loud helps solidify it further. I was laughing at the example of the 'selves' arguing over taking a nap, working, or noticing that it's the wrong job for you... because it was entirely relatable and I have seen myself go through that deliberation so many times. xD Thank you for that. Personifying the parts of the self is very helpful for me to actually listen to them. I definitely still tangle and argue, especially around addictive behaviors and when I find myself to be very low energy. I also feel like my subconscious wants my waking self to pay more attention to my dreams, and when my lifestyle doesn't give me enough time in the morning to do so it feels very un-listened to... That's something I would like to heal. Thank you for mentioning how emotions are messages from the subconscious, and for outlining what they mean and what to do about it! These things have so many varying flavors, infinite circumstance, yet it is so helpful to have a place to start with them. I have been practicing a lot with trying to witness my state of being and what I am feeling and sensing, yet I think I might be in a phase where I often end up dissociated or confused. I'd like to practice participating in my story, and this helps me work with that side of my life, to build things I can recognize, instead of just going too deep and ending up feeling like everything is flat or a jumble of static.

    This was a great video! I did get a little motion sickness watching the footage for too long. xD But it prompted me to draw and journal while listening! And I could look up and see the beautiful greennesses, and I enjoyed watching which direction you chose to go and your interactions with your surroundings. Hearing these concepts described in a neat way really helps me understand my experiences and helps me know what to look for if I am wanting to explore these things further. It's fun to be able to recognize something that someone else also recognizes. I suppose that's the whole reason you are sharing this, though, huh! :D Thank you!

    Hi, Joules! I watched this video with my friend Dustie, and she made a comment that she likes seeing your smile. :) And she says that your background with the books is a very fantastic visual that helps her tell that you have a lot of intelligence and intellectual capacity. We really enjoyed the visual aids and the clarifications of how these things are models and examples, to help us keep in mind that these are applicable in vast ways. I had a few questions while watching the video I would also like to pose here. :) Firstly, while trying to understand the sense of self in Causal state, I thought of the concept of karmic lines that are often mentioned in Buddhism. Do you think that's representative of a Causal state sense of self? I also wondered, is being in a Causal state like... being inspired to create? I understand that one would have to have the idea of a thing, but just thinking about a tree sounds more like a Subtle state of being rather than a Causal. Does that sound accurate? Therefore, would being in Causal state be more like the inspiration of creating the tree? Or am I way off the map here? xD Lastly, something that caught my questioning was when you mentioned that "being remembered" is a way someone in Gross state might achieve what they perceive as immortality. I wondered, though, aren't memories a form of thought, and wouldn't that be more of a Subtle state thing?

    • @JoulesPerRadian
      @JoulesPerRadian 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for passing on Dustie's feedback! I'm so glad you both enjoyed the video. And what a splendid way to hang out with a friend! These sound like fantastic questions. I look forward to exploring them with you. (Click 'Read more' to see my responses below.) Regarding the first one, my understanding of Buddhism is still nascent. What are karmic lines? For your second question, it may be helpful to draw a distinction between Divine creation and human creation. In the video, when I mentioned that the 'Idea of Tree' is part of Causal reality, I wasn't talking about a normal human idea of a tree (which, yes, would be a Subtle phenomenon); I was instead talking about the Divine Idea of Tree which is much more fundamental and exists in a different layer of reality. (It might be time for me to do a video on layers of reality. Hmm...) That said, on pondering your question, I think I agree that inspiration is an example of a Causal phenomenon, if we're talking about that feeling of inspiration coming to you suddenly and unbidden. In my experience the entire process of human creativity changes drastically depending on which spiritual state/stage one happens to be operating from. For example, if an artist _decides_ to create something (e.g. because they want to fulfill a commission), then they could be in Subtle state. On the other hand, if an artist is suddenly hit by an urge to create that seems to come out of nowhere for no reason, then I assume they must be at least in Causal state (e.g. receiving guidance from their Higher Self), even if only briefly. Another example further along in the creative process: if the artist is intentionally trying to create something they see in their head then they could be in Subtle state, but if they're _channeling_ a work (that feeling of something coming _through_ you instead of _from_ you) then they have to be in Causal state or higher because their conscious mind has to be out of the way to let that happen. In the case of your third question, yes, remembering is absolutely a Subtle action. The person doing the remembering would have to at least be in Subtle state while doing so, though not necessarily in Subtle _stage_ . It's important to distinguish between _states_ and _stages_ . In the video, when I was talking about this, I was referring to a person being in Gross _stage_ . This would mean that they identify with their physical body, but it doesn't mean that they can't be aware of other states. Anyone can experience and even be aware of any state, regardless of what stage they're in, so a person in Gross stage can absolutely be aware that memory is a thing and desire to be remembered.

      @@JoulesPerRadian Thank you for the response and clarifications! My experience with Buddhism is also rudimentary... I will do my best to explain my understanding of karmic lines. The way it was described to me by a Buddhist monk was that in our lifetime, we are continuing to live out the results of our "doing" (aka our karma, aka our actions) from previous lifetimes. The metaphor he used to describe how karma transfers from lifetime to lifetime was like a candle transferring its flame. While the candle that represents our individual life melts completely, the same energetic flame burns on in our next life. There is an idea of what was done/what happened then affects what is done/what happens now, and there is an idea that our karmic lines can be cleansed through observation... Which has me thinking of being in a Witnessing state or stage to move past the Causal stage. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it, so it may remain a mystery for both of us until we learn more. Thank you for speaking on the difference of a Divine idea and human ideas. That helps deepen my understanding. I feel like it's still a little out of my ability to grok it fully, but I can at least conceptualize it. Thank you for the perspectives on inspiration! The differences between those two origins of creation makes sense to me. It does make sense that someone in a Gross Stage is aware of other states and has the desire to be remembered. I suppose my question is around whether the person in Gross Stage would consider the memories of them as a type of existing beyond death? I know of people who believe that once their physical bodies no longer harbor life, then their entire self is ended, even if people remember them afterwards.

      @@RedThorn00 Based on your description of karmic lines, it sounds like you hit the nail on the head. That reads to me exactly like a Causal sense of the self (and possibly a Blue-stage-of-consciousness interpretation of it). And yes, your description of cleansing through observation sounds exactly like instructions for shifting into the Witnessing state/stage. Yes, you're right that someone in Gross stage is going to believe that they're completely gone when they physically die, so therefore they are not going to believe that they have any access to real immortality unless they figure out a way to not die (and there are plenty of people in Gross stage who do obsess over prolonging their physical lives). In the video, I say that the only way they 'can have any _sense_ of immortality' is by doing something that continues to have an effect after they die. They wouldn't believe that this would actually give them immortality, but it would be a sort of consolation prize: to know that their life will have mattered.

    Hi Joules, I think there are some interesting concepts in your video, and it may interest you (and perhaps your subscribers) to know that for a few decades cognitive psychologists have been researching and theorizing about something very like your "inner guidance". They've constructed a fairly sophisticated "dual-systems" theory about how our thinking works. "System 1" is largely unconscious, fast, effortless, often automatic, and intuitive. "System 2" is mainly conscious, slow, effortful, deliberate, and often involving reasoning or "weighing-up" alternatives. There's a ton of research on how Systems 1 and 2 operate and communicate with each other, and their respective advantages and drawbacks for decision making. System 1 is undoubtedly crucial for decision making. System 1 manifests itself to our conscious awareness in the form of the things you've described such as a feeling, a vision, or a quiet voice, and a term for these is "somatic markers". So far, neurological research suggests that somatic markers are processed in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) and the amygdala. Antonio Damasio and other neuroclinicians made big news when they reported that some head-trauma patients whose vmPFC was damaged, but tested as still "normal" on memory, language usage, and reasoning (i.e., System 2 tasks), nonethless had become very poor at decision making because they had no access to somatic markers (i.e., no readouts from System 1). Relying solely on System 2 for judgments and decisions isn't a good idea, but neither is relying solely on System 1. System 1 doesn't comprehend many things that require reasoning, such as how compound interest works, or when you'd want to use an acid or a base to clean something, or how to reckon anything to do with probabilities. Moreover, System 1 has a number of well-known flaws and biases, such as the tendency to read non-existent patterns and causes into random event sequences (e.g., Gambler's Fallacy). I don't think you give System 2 a fair hearing-- there are plenty of decisions where we need System 2 to be up and running, checking out what System 1 comes up with, and in some instances even taking the dominant role. My main concerns with your video begin with your claim that inner guidance is never wrong. A perfect decision-making recipe, by definition, would constitute a localized near-term type of omniscience and there's no such thing (as you point out, humans aren't omniscient). System 1 can (and does) make mistakes and therefore so will inner guidance. That's why we humans didn't evolve with only System 1 in place; System 2 also helped our species big-time. My secondary concern is that the claim that inner guidance is never wrong is just one step away from an unfalsifiable belief setup, wherein anyone who says "I've tried inner guidance and it didn't work for me" gets the pseudo-diagnosis "Well, you weren't doing it right". If you don't want "inner guidance is never wrong" to be a required article of faith or an axiom in your belief system, then it has to be falsifiable. Love, --Dad

      Oh, okay. I can see where some clarification might be in order. Thank you for this well-thought-out comment. I'll do my best to adequately address all of your points, but please do ask further questions if I don't succeed. First, as you describe it, 'System 1' is not synonymous with what I'm calling 'inner guidance'. I probably should have taken a stronger stance in the video and simply defined 'inner guidance' as messages from the Higher Self. Not all of these messages are 'internally' experienced feelings, visions, voices, etc. Sometimes they are 'external' signs like synchronicities. Your description of 'System 1' sounds to me like it includes phenomena that I would categorize as the subconscious. The subconscious isn't very good at making decisions, but the Higher Self has a much bigger view than both the subconscious and conscious combined. The Higher Self does have, in a way, a 'type of omniscience', and it isn't restrained to an individual's location or present time. (When I refer to myself in the video as a human who is not omniscient, I'm talking about my conscious and subconscious, not my Higher Self.) I recently put out a video on the distinctions among the subconscious, the conscious, and the Higher Self that could be helpful for clarifying this: th-cam.com/video/gmroRApVXn4/w-d-xo.html. That said, listening to inner guidance is a skill that requires work to develop. In the beginning, it can feel difficult to distinguish messages from the Higher Self vs messages from the subconscious, but they are quite different once you get the hang of it. Regarding the 'unfalsifiable belief' problem, the information I'm giving here is from my own inner guidance and direct experiences. It isn't theory. It isn't belief. It's gnosis. And I am NOT recommending that people just believe me. In fact, quite the opposite. I am recommending that they try this for themselves. This video is intended as a signpost for people to find their _own_ gnosis. I would recommend to anyone learning to listen to and follow their inner guidance to pay close attention to their results. When their life gets better, especially in unexpected ways that don't make sense, that is a good sign that what they're following is their inner guidance, i.e. messages from their Higher Self. When life gets harder and they find themselves suffering more, that's often (although not always) a sign that they're listening to their subconscious or conscious. If, in trying to listen to and follow their inner guidance, someone is consistently getting bad results, I would most likely tell them to STOP. They could be getting bad results for a variety of legitimate reasons. For example, it could be that they're just not at that stage of their development yet. If someone doesn't yet have conscious access to their inner guidance, I would recommend using whatever their best decision-making faculties are, which could in fact be 'System 2' or some combination of 'System 1' and 'System 2'.

    I was so excited to see how other people would respond to that question! I laughed at how accurate they all indeed were. xD And also I agree with Nick about people getting to know you through the subjects you are so excited to talk about.
