I belive you! Had this CR-V for 7 years, from 140.000 km, haven’t changed anything except oil, filters, brake pads + discs and some minor parts from suspension. Sold it at 227.000km, and the actual owner said that this is his last car, will never sold it, just fell in love with her. I saw plenty of 2.0 and 2.4 i-vtec with over 500.000km without a single problem:) I saw on TH-cam even a 1.4 milion km cr-v american version with 2.4l i-vtec. Very reliable cars👍

I agree with you. Once this 2.5l engine is indestructible, you can be confident with it even in some high performance driving conditions, for example autobahns, mountain twisted roads, etc. The secret of any engine to last as longer as possible is proper maintenance! You can break and this engine, and any other high performance engine such as 2.0 tsi; 3.0 b58, etc. if you don’t take care of maintenance and exploitation.

Cvts are build mainly for city traffic. And believe they are best in city.

On hybrids, it is usually the most common type of gearbox, and this particular one from Toyota is one of the most reliable CVTs, there are already several examples of rav4 hybrids, this generation, that have over 700,000 km. Anyway, hybrids mostly run 50% in electric mode, especially in the city, so the sound of the engine doesn't bother me, but even when it starts, it has a pleasant sound, and even at strong accelerations, it doesn't bother me personally. But for other people, this is disturbing, and for them a better solution would be a Tucson Hybrid, which has a 6-speed automatic gearbox, even if it is a hybrid. I drove both, and the rav4 seemed more agile and responsive to sudden accelerations, but each person has its own tastes and requirements.

Hey i'm lookig to buy a used 2011. CAn you pls share your user experience and issues you have experienced.

Had this 2008 model for 7 years. During all this time I drove around 80,000 km, which I traveled without absolutely any mechanical problem with the engine or gearbox. What was changed on it was on the electronic side, all kinds of sensors and relays. and specific to my region, the roads are not the best quality, so I changed some bushings and some stabilizers on the suspension. Otherwise, 95 petrol, oil and filters, that's it! This model is very reliable, these engines are very reliable, and if they are properly maintained, they go without problems for 1 million km, either gasoline or diesel. I wish you success in your purchase and my advice is to find a well-maintained car, which is close to your heart, and you will continue to maintain it just as well, and only in this way you will you always have confidence in the car and it will not leave you on the side of the road.

Cu consumul sta direct proportional cu soferul :) Urban undeva 11 - 12l/100km Extra urban cel mai mic consum pe care l-am inregistrat a fost 7.2l/100km la mers economic, dar daca mergi in pas cu traficul, mai faci o depasire 8.5-9l/100km. Cifrele astea pot sa urce si sa coboare in functie de sofer, insa daca ar fi sa fiu sincer si as mai cumpara inca odata asa model, as merge pe 2.2 i-DTEC, (Varianta pe motorina), tot 150 de cai, mai multi nm, si la general e un motor mai harnic si mai potrivit pe asa caroserie. Insa daca anume benzina, fiabilitatea este la 100%, costuri de deservire minimale si consumul pana la urma e ok avand in vedere ca e 4x4, cutie automata, caroserie mai grea etc. Depinde de tine ce preferi mai mult, Diesel sau Benzina. Oricum, cam toate motorizarile de pe CR-V 3 sunt reusite si la general este o alegere foarte buna. Sfatul meu la procurare? Indiferent de an, dotari, motorizare, cauta una foarte bine intretinuta si vei avea numai placere de la asa model. Pace!
