How to remove radio 67-72 C10 trucks ##mechanic #chevrolet
Quick video on how to remove the stock radio on 67-72 GM trucks C10 C20. Pretty easy but was doing it anyway so figured I’d make a video on it in case it helps someone out. #restoration #shop #GM #radio #diy #howto #truck

Nice job thanks man
You’re more of a “cousin” buck. Need more wrinkles to be “uncle”.
Great video
Do you change the stock location fuel filter as well after having this lift pump setup?
Nope. Running stock one still as well. Figured with an LML can’t hurt to have a little extra.
Woo hoo Lincoln electric ❤ nice restoration man 😊
Thanks! Coming along
Nooice work ,,, can't tell until you showed the metal 👍
Where do you get the black block that the vertical solid bar slides into?
can somebody tell me why the frickin fuel tank is big enough for you to cross america???
Oh that’s a sprayer on the back.
Where can I buy these ?
Some Home Depot’s carry them. Or online. They are Milwaukee in case it’s hard to see in the video.
@@unclebucksprojects1537how’s the grip level ?
They grip well and have great “feel” for how tough they are.
Nice job god bless
I’m replacing my air dog filters and the stock fuel filter, do I need to add fuel to the filters or can I just use the air dog to prime everything?
I have never primed the AirDogs. Just throw them on. I only prime the stock one.
Huh. This popped up on my feed, just as I'm heading outside to complete my 1st install; 2016 F150 Platinum FX4 4dr 5.0L (modified 😜)
Good luck. Mine are still going strong even with heavy use.
Buck, I have a heavy boat hatch that I had to remove to repair the fiberglass on it. The piano hinge rests in the deck. When installed, the hatch folds into the cut out of the deck. It seems like I’ve got to somehow suspend the hatch verticallyand work from under the deck to put about 20 screws into the hatch. Any ideas?
Yes have done that before (carpet wrapped wood and fiberglass). In both cases I mounted the hinge to the deck/boat first then used a blind hole finder to mark 3 holes on the inside of the hatch. Then tested spacing when shut once those three fasteners were installed. Then put in. I have not tried it personally, but thought double sided tape would work as well. Meaning install hinge on boat side, then shut hinge to closed position, then install double sided tape, then place hatch on top of tape. Then gently open and mark some test holes. Again haven’t tried the tape method myself (only hole finder method) but that was my backup plan if the hole finder didn’t work.
@@unclebucksprojects1537 thanks, I’ll give it a try!!
They need to make an extended version to fix ball joint angles on anything lifted at all
I’m Bruce bolt left the chat
Nice tiedown chain!!!😅
Hahah. Thanks. Most people have no idea what that is.
Would you recommend these even if you do not tow
I have great luck with them all around towing or not. No squealing at all and stop really well.
Thanks for the feedback
Great video, how did you keep fuel from continuously pouring out?
It just doesn’t 🤷🏻♂️. I used to always clamp it. Then one time decided to try it without clamping, and none came out. So just removed that step, and have done it this way ever since.
Nice I got one too..
Have you ever heard of any one double stacking the small bushing you used with 10mm socket to press in. I had a friend suggest this if after replacing everything and still have leak.
Interesting, Have never seen that tried. I don’t know if that added thickness would affect the gear grabbing.
Awesome and thanks for sharing it!
Thanks brother! God bless
What does it do? I’m a young buck lol 😂
Carving mallet or light joiners mallet as far as I know.
Think i should get these for uber driving? 22 honda pilot
They’ve worked well for me and they live a hard life driving and towing heavy off-road in the mountains.
Technically you should route a mortise for the hinge so you don't get a gap at the back of the box
Sometimes I do. With the pads I was using on the front it sat perfectly level without any routing.
Im bout to order sum😅
Love them. Second truck I’ve had these on.
removed the dent... added extra metal
Sweet bro
So it's better if the engine is hot? mine needs #7 and #8 but I'm gonna do all of them Been doing a good research for a while now, I read or saw a video of a guy who warmed the engine and tried to pull one out, the damn thing broke and he only pulled the noodle, the sleeve stayed on the block lol, sounds a bit scary
It could just be luck, but I have done a ton and only had one break ever. I was just taught to get to operating temp first so they come right out. So have never tried cold. So don’t have anything else to compare to.
Gonna try this, thx. Looks simple and practical!
Hope it works great for you.
I’ve got a 1971 Chevy c10
67-72’s are arguably the most iconic truck of all time. My personal favorite.
No 😂😂😂 that's not true it's when you don't level your floor
Absolutely have seen that cause a bunch too. This particular floor had rows jammed up against the sill with no expansion room when we pulled the base off to investigate.
Good video, thank you. Not a mechanic just a general handyman. I use the safety wire twisting pliers for wire tying chicken wire to fences. This is cool
Depending on the work you do... 1.5 weeks really isnt bad at all in come cases. For shert metal fabrication for example, depending pn the orders i have there are days ill anhilate a pair of cut resistant gloves in a single day easily. If you want a good impact rated glove tho check out mcr safety if you havnt seen that brand before. They makeva good industrial grade glove with good materials. Id get simething lined and stiched with kevlar and made with goat skin if i were wirking with wood. Mechanix is honestly one of those overhyped brands that people swear on but really isnt all what its shouted out to be. Thats my opinion at least...
I have heard of them but never tried them. I think I will, thanks!
😔 Promo`SM
I have this problem with my new build. Just a question, if I have this problem and the spongy part is by a big floor to ceiling window, is it easy to repair?
By a large window could complicate things some, but not really. You could just add a little more edge spacing there to accommodate for the temperature fluctuations the large window may add. I’ve seen a few lift due to it cooking in the sun all day if there isn’t window treatments.
couldn't agree more!
Doing mine today
Bead of silicon and let it set. You have to preheat cast to get a good weld on it.
Buddy good luck
That is not tacked, glued at best
Looks like ya shoulda gave er a few more bumps with the Persuasion Stick and that tack doesnt look like its got any penetration into the pump cover. I always pull the cover and spring after setting my clearance and tack it with a torch and brazing rod.
Torch that castiron
I can also be due to localized expansion, like by an appliance that’s warm underneath, hotspot from sun shining through uncoated windows, floor registers and even poorly insulated floors.
Thank you.
Material is too tight under the door jam.
What about moving into a place that started doing it? How do you fix it from there? Ours just started up in a few places
How to prime it?
Don’t need to on these. Just turn key on and leave for a few seconds before cranking and it will take care of it. Always fires right up.
My lbz dumped diesel all over me 😂 however she is running so think I’m good right?
I would almost bet this is because air and moisture is coming in under the front door. Running some sealant under the transition and threshold will help this from happening. This should be done during installation.
This happened in my room but in that same year it was installed Me walking on it made it flat ... Now it's. Fine
