It has been a dream of mine for a few years now to buy and own and Audi R8. This is something that i have now achieved and would like to share with you all. I'm going to make a series to show you all how i did it and exactly what it is like to live with the car :) Enjoy
Great but you are selling it unbelievable that’s why we b any car does so well people like you
For anyone that is interested, I still own the car. 6 and a half years old now and 103k miles. The EGR cooler failed at around 90k which would have been £2.2k to have done, but it was fortunately covered under the extended warranty that I purchased. Still one my 2nd set of discs and pads with good life left. Recently changed the front tyres and got 34k out of them (budget tyres approx £85 each) Things seem to be running well overall and still very happy with it

Why go PCP and write off all that money of your wages on a car when you can buy one?
Because some people don’t have cash at the hip…..simple really!
Cant believe its taken you so long to buy an auto.Especially with your city driving.You were mentioning the 450 tax if over 40k.Thats only for 1st 5 years of cars life and then its drops to £180 a month.

Do you think it's worthed getting the Quattro version or FWD is enough?
Personally I wouldn’t bother with the Quattro unless you live or travel frequently in an area that gets particularly bad weather. For day to day use the front wheel drive is more than adequate as well as being cheaper to buy and maintain as well as more efficient. That said, it is always nice to have a Quattro if you can justify it 👍
@@davekyno8483 Thanks for detailed and prompt reply! I think the FWD will do me fine (there is a couple of them rite now for a good bargain from 2018 with low mill one of them being fully equipped with almost all extras). Plus the Quattro costs like 5-6 thousand euros more plus as you say it's more expensive to maintain I guess. I also can't find only Quattro with 2.0 TFSI but only Allroad variant which I don't like how they look. I saw one quattro 2.0 tfsi with s-line exterior on youtube which looked SO good. Good video!
I have a A4 TFSI quattro Avant with 252bhp. It sticks like a limpet, goes like stink and does 42mpg on the motorway. Tyre wear is even all round and it's a heck of a car as a package.
Thanks for this honest review, its great to hear from real long term owners rather then people who review cars as a job.
If is the S trim the seats half leather at standard no? Not optional

Great video! I want to point out that you say fuel is 7 pounds per gallon... I live in the US, we complain about fuel costs and it’s around 3 USD per gallon! Lol
Welcome back. First of all go find a mirror sit down in front of it and have a word with yourself about not posting vlogs on your Spyder. 2nd I’ve owned an A4 B8 for 6 years and costs me £90 pm to run they are great motors. (Pic sent on instagram) K ps going to the bank next about an R8 😉🚙💨
How did you get that at 21 fella? And how the hell did it only cost you under £800 a year to insure it?
muzman777 a combination of things really. Being fortunate enough to live at home rent free, working a well paid job from 19 and saving pretty much every penny. The insurance was a weird one, didn’t make sense to me either but I wasn’t going to complain! Haha

I know, i got tied up with work and lost the motivation to do anything else unfortunately. Looking to get a new sports/supercar in the next couple of months though!

Jam H yeah, I’ve just sold my V10 spider and the insurance went up to 800 ish on that one but still nothing bad. I’m fortunate as I have a second car which is insured by my company, so my no claims bonus is applied to the R8 but I get a reduced rate due to owning/ having use of another car. You can also be a little clever by setting up multicar policies. Set up the multicar cover so a partners car or family member joins at a later date. You get a very good discount and may never need to actually cover the vehicle. They tag the second vehicle on at the end of its existing policy rather than transferring it over straight away. Give me a shout if you want to know any more
Dave Kyno absolutely ridiculous price I’m getting quoted 6,000 a year need to see what strategy to use in order to minimise the insurance costs, so putting it in order what would you suggest I do?
@@JAMAL12382 i dont know what your history is with crashes etc, but for me its 1k a year and thats pretty expensive, when most cars dont even cost 300 a year. Like my brother has a nice car only cost him 10 euros a month.

That V8 sounds like a w12; horrible sounding like an out of balance sewing machine. No wonder Audi swallowed their humble pie and installed the v10 from the italians!
Its the audi V10, don't be fooled by what italians say, even the Gallardo was designed by a Belgian guy
