Basically, he is saying that experience for managing roles is more important than just having an MBA degree with no experience, and then applying for management roles. Instead, if a candidate has knowledge about the technical side of things, and now he/she wants to transition to the managerial side of that field, then having experience would prove to be more beneficial, and if that candidate has acquired that experience, and an MBA degree later on, then that is even better.

How did he roast it? Lol he didn't say anything in the title...

It’s as if the only thing they consistently teach in those programs is how to maximize profitability. Sure, this sounds great at first but I’d rather have a healthy company with happy employees than one that screws over the customers and the employees to get a 1/4 point bump for the shareholders. So many of these “leaders” talk about their “responsibility” to the shareholders but that’s just an excuse to provide marginal, at best, customer service so they can get a bigger bonus. I can name a dozen companies right off the top of my head that fail their employees and customers to increase profitability but only a handful of companies that are committed to doing the right thing for the people who really matter. A decision that severely impacts an employee will only have a minuscule effect on the shareholders.

I wish I had seen this before I got an MBA. He's right.

I own a company That has a team of engineers. Engineers have a distaste for management because engineers Make the things that make the company money. They consider themselves intellectually superior (and maybe some of them are) and don’t like the idea of mere business school graduates giving them directives or, God forbid, make more money than them. Elon Musk is no exception. The fact is, business school teaches the complex sciences that allow businesses to operate effectively and scale rapidly- Something which Musk has benefited from.

title miss leading, He didn't say they were worthless all he said is that people would think they know how to run a company simply by having the MBA but because they don't know that particular company well when they start they aren't the greatest asset because they didn't start from the bottom to understand why the company is where it is at so they need some sort of apprenticeship as start to understand the company from the inside out rather than from the top and not know to how to get things rolling.

Nobody,,, NOBODY… just parachutes into a CEO job from business school. NOBODY gets a CEO job because they do good PowerPoint. A lot of people who happen to be good at engineering get a CEO spot and then fail miserably at it, because they know nothing about how to organize people and resources to achieve sustainable growth and success over time. Yet he just sits there, spouting this garbage, and all you geniuses can come up with is “worst burn ever.” You’re exactly the kinds of people he loves to surround himself with: weak-minded sycophants, the worker slaves of the future. Give yourselves a pat on the back.

I love it

From my experience in the corporate world, rarely does the best and most intelligent person truly advance in their careers. In fact I never saw that one time. Rather it's a political game, sometimes the person is friends with the hiring manager or has bedazzled them in other ways besides accmplishments in the workplace.
