This is an incredible army, I like how you've blended them all together too. I'm excited to see the progress with them!

Well, if you care about the The Old World Map online, every region of Estalia has a combination of white, red, yellow, and / or black heraldry, except for one region in the northeast which has blue in its heraldry. So, on your standards, shields, and some tights / puffy sleeves, I would suggest using the four dominant colors, plus the common symbols, like bulls, castles, crowns, and / or suns of Myrmidia. Light brown vests over white shirts was typical for Spanish soldiers. The “colorful” things would be sashes, and other ornamentation. Your army construction is impressive and inspiring. You achieved your goal of having realistic differentiation. “Conquistador” is pronounced with a silent “u”, so it sounds like con-key-stador. Your other Spanish sounds great. 👍 I presume that you are not going to ever rebase those. The thought of putting 25mm on my 20 mm pikemen and such is horrifying. Enjoy painting all of that. 😜

This is an excellent project. I really like how you organized it and the overall army looks amazing. I am impressed how well the miniatures scaled together. Wargames Atlantic ( I thought they ran small) had me concerned but they look good here.

Fantastic project, love the fact that you’re mixing the different ranges, WA kits seem particularly great for kitbashing. Also, jinetes are a great addition. I am building an Estalian army scaled down to ~25mm for our Minihammer (Smallhammer, I guess) project, so I am relying mostly on 3d printing: the modular Reptilian Overlords state troops make for a great chassis for Men-at-arms / State Troops proxy (I use them as Yeomen Guard, personally), if you mix them with Saint Decent’s morion heads for that iconic look - no need for further cutting or remodelling, if you scale them together properly in 3D Builder / Blender before throwing them to a slicer. I also used Vae Victis Miniatures’ sharpshooter set for sailor-looking types with blunderbusses (my fantasy Basque whalers who act as stand-ins for Border Princes Brigands). Titan Forge’s Scarlet Crusade has two sets of bundles and a recent Frontiers expansion to it that offer a bunch of characterful Estalian-looking heroes, unit champions and artillery sets. Fantasy Cult has also a few „fantasy Conquistador” stls, although be mindful that they are scaled to 34mm. Hope someone finds this useful, the interactive Old World map has received an update a few days ago (that got rolled back almost immediately thereafter in typical GW fashion, lol) and Estalia got fleshed out to unprecedented degree, including coats of arms for new regions (you can find it on Warhammer Fantasy Reddit), so there’s some brand new lore bits to theme your Estalian army around. Oh, according to the new TOW rulebook lore, Knights of the Blazing Sun are now based in Estalia too - Last Sword has brilliant mounted and infantry sets in that theme, if you are looking to differentiate your heavy cavalry (for example into an Inner Circle unit).

Great showcase! I'm in the process of building my Tilean army. The bulk will be the many GW tilean units from DoW which pretty much cover pikemen, crossbowmen and heroes. For cavalry and handguns I'm planning to use Perry Miniatures. Anything else I should be looking into that would do quite well in the mix with size and Italian style? I need to find Myrmidian priests now.

orange, lime green and black, sounds bad but looks great, i've painted my border princes brigands units in that. Occasionally swapping the black for white in regards to things like feathers in hats and such like. :)

Amazing collection and great work! I've been playing Empire since 2005 but I only have 4000 points because of the second army of Lizardmen and Ultramarines ;) It was a real feast for the eyes :)
