I hope I answered all of your questions...hit me up if you have anything else. I need to go back and make my own updated tour.
The Mad Magazine car was made by Volo Museum in Chicago for the anniversary of MAD MAGAZINE. It's a Graham Nash
All the Flintstones cars are Legit. Built by Barris, but not built to last. Styrofoam and Fiberglass on top of mostly electric golf carts. the one in the back is a static prop...it just sits. Kids and stupid drunk people have destroyed these things.
The Nemo Limo "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" is a replica. It's the ONLY replica ever made and it's street legal. It was made by a very wealthy Hollywood prop builder. But not the screen used car.
BATCAVE. Only one car in there is screen used...and it's not the Val Kilmer Batmobile. (That was made by Paul Sher. He made cars for the films and so many replicas for other collectors and musuems.) The 2 Keaton Batmobiles (the one behind the Kilmer is a Warner Brothers 1989 promotional car W.B.#3 on the gas tank. made for the red carpet. The one on the opposite side of the room, is from Batman Returns and was in the scene where Penguin has a remote control installed and it drives itself. The Batmissle also from Batman Returns is 1 of 3 made. They are props, not working cars. Each is disposable in case they needed to do retakes. The used the first take. (Paul Sher made those too.) The Batboat is a working replica autographed by Barris. The Batcycles are the 2 remaining of 4 made. These were strictly for convention appearances. The 1960s Batmobiles( the one in the back WAS made by Barris, but not screen used...and based on the original design with the front mounted saw blade. The One in the center was made by www.fiberglassfreaks.com It is the best replica you can buy that is street legal. It's based on the 1960s Batman Movie.
The Mad Max Ford Falcon XB GT is the HERO CAR from Mad Max 1 & 2. The only hero car. IT'S THE LAST OF THE V8'S. It's real. Dezer want's $3.6 Million for it.
the Fast and the Furious cars: the Red one is screen used. The Grand National is a stunt car built backwards. The Trunk is the front where the engine actually is, the stunt driver is hidden in the "back seat". Vin Diesel just sat in the actual back of the car with a pretend steering wheel so he could "drive 80mph in reverse" and his co star pretending to hang on for life was safety harnessed to the hood. The Green Paul walker car is a very good replica. the maker has his phone h=number on the trim by the front wheels. When it was transported from the UK to Miami, dock workers thought it was real and stole the steering wheel and gear shift knob.
The Rocket Car and Hannibal 8 are both screen used from The Great Race (1965). The Torpedo on wheels is #1 of 2 props used in the film. This one rolled into the water. #2 was a remote controlled boat prop. The Rocket Car really drives on train tracks. The Hannibal 8 has 2 inline 6 engines, a smoke screen, firing front mounted cannon, and a heat laser prop to "melt glaciers"(lighting and steam fx)
The Fantasy Island jeep was the Guest Star car. Not used by Ricardo Montalbán or Herve Villechaize.
AND The Munster's Koach is THE ORIGINAL CAR from the TV show and original films. Only one original exists. Barris made many replicas. This one has been altered by Barris over the years..but it is the legit original car, made from 2 Model T Fords and parts of a Hearse. The Air Intakes on the 10 Carbs are Gold plated.
The Dragula is a tribute replica made by the son of Dick Dean whom worked for George Barris on the original. Not screen used. The original was parted out, then rebuilt, and sold at another auction.
Not all the James Bond cars...totally separate section for those. These are just overflow stuff. The lotus isn't screen used. it's just a Lotus Esprit. The Red Amphicar wasn't in ANY movie or tv show. Just one of the rarest amphibious cars sold to the British and American public in the late 50s and early 60s..less than 150 are left out of 3000 made. $125,000 car.
The BTTF 2 car was one of the very first replicas every made by a fan...before the fanbase was like it is today. Everything was DIY by hand, Back before there were behind the scenes specials or DVDs. And the Police Bike is screen used from BTTF 2.
The taxi is from Curious Case of Benjamin Button...Brad Pitt rode in it for a scene.
The 2 Robocop cars...the shiny one is from the horrible reboot. The OCP one is the Jump Stunt car from Robocop 3..Remy Ryan's stunt double was a tour guide at the museum ironically.
The Starsky & Hutch...Dezer has 3 of them. One from the TV show, One from the movie remake. And one regular car from when you could buy them with that paint job. We don't know which is which. the papers and signage got lost. By the seating and some body damage, we think this is from the TV show.
The car by the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang poster is another with Madonna. It was her Limo in the movie version of EVITA. They HAD Chitty...but sold it for $1.25 million and never took down to poster.
The Herbie's are from the last movie..Fully Loaded with Lindsey Lohan. the one with the target is from the demo derby scenes. It does side wheelies. Both are screen used. The shiny one is the self driving car. The Driver was eliminated via CGI and clever camera work.
The Soul Train car is a tribute to the show. The Banner is a tribute to the show and Michael Jackson (he appeared more than any other musical guest on the show. But they messed up the banner...they put MJ's head on Arch-Angel from the X-MEN.)
Greased Lightning 100% original screen used. Bought from Volo museum in Chicago. The car was in bad shape from the start. The speckled red paint and metallic glitter combo used was so jagged in spots, it would cut through jeans. It was bought, and the owner sent it to be restored...but before the job was done...he died. And there were no arrangements to finish the job. So it went into storage. VOLO found out about it and paid for the rest of the job and became the new owners. They sold it to Dezer in 2018.
The Gadetmobile was used in both films..with Mathew Broderick and the sequel with French Stewart (it's repainted for the sequel) The Jet booster was CGI and the thing on the back now is made out of a garbage can and lights. The Statue is a horribly modified Humphrey Bogart 'Sam Spade" statue. The hand once held a cigarette. Bogart's nose and mouth were sculpted over.
The ECTO-1 is a Studio Replica from the original film. They used it for promotions and the premier. The main actors did drive it. And it's strictly an ambulance...this wasn't a hearse combo unit.
The WW2 Motorbike and the German jeep are from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The American jeep is from Curse of the Crystal Skull. (and the German car was also in TOP SECRET! It's the one that explodes when it bumps a Ford Pinto.)
the Car is from Shanghai Knights...the bike next to it is from Megaforce staring Barry Bostwick. The most EPIC 80s film EVER!
The Terminator 3 Hearse is screen used. The totaled car next to it is from Edge of Tomorrow staring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. (not really totaled or dirty...its all movie dirt and totally road worthy
Not a Johnny Cab...its a screen used Mars Taxi with a static Johnny Cab prop sitting in it. From Total Recall.
The Captain America bike is a licensed Replica from EASY RIDER, autographed by Peter Fonda (one of like 5 in existence.)
The Knight Rider cars.... The one with the headlights up was a touring replica, made by the studios to lend to car shows, so the fans could sit in the car. This one toured Australia for a year and then Hasselhoff bought it to use on his Knight Rocker Tour of Germany (look it up). The Red thing is the Knight Industries 4000 from the TV show, Knight Rider 2000..its the infamous Boat Car that sank in the canals of Riverwalk in Texas. And the Convertible KITT is the only car left from Season 4 of the show. It had the original scanner but they replaced it with cheap LED lights. It looks like crap. My Dad also worked on the show. (Ask the Knight Rider Historians about these cars.)
The cop bike by the Spiderman van is the Hero bike from Lethal Weapon 2 filmed in Orlando, driven by Mel Gibson.
The Dalek is a SUPER rare Coin-op kiddie ride from the UK. 1 of 3 known to exist in the US.
The Mr Bean car is the car that he put the easy chair on top of and drove.
The 2 Red Motorcycles are NOT from The Lawnmower Man....they are from the straight to video sequel. They are in about 10 seconds of screen-time. Under the red shells are Kawasaki Ninjas.
The A-Team van is one of 2 surviving Stunt Vans from the show. This is the one they used to film the tire burn out shots that they recycled throughout the series. My Dad was an editor on the show.
The motorcycle behind it is one of 2 surviving original bikes from the 1 season tv show STREET HAWK. It's the hero bike from the Pilot episode.
The Monkees Mobile is a Replica. Only 2 were made. They are in other collections.
The Volvo is from the British TV series called The Saint staring Roger Moore before he was James Bond (Replica).
The Hummer H-1 was the Grand Prize in Taco bell's "Feel the Force" Sweepstakes. (which included a lifesize replica of David Prowse in the Vader costume. A ton of merch. The sunshades are autographed by everyone nearly from the original trilogy, and one of the Toys R Us limited edition Millenium Falcon hanging displays is sitting in the back of it.)
The Austin Powers mini car is a Japanese Electric car used in the final chase scene from Austin Powers 2.
Hey Chris! I was experiencing insomnia today and happened upon your channel at 5am. I am the former original VIP Tour Guide of the Orlando Auto Museum at Dezerland (Pronounce DEZ-ER, not DEE-ZER). I was there since day one. All that copyrighted music (tv and movie themes) were my doing...pulled right from TH-cam, so not always a problem. And I can answer ALL of your questions. And I will as much as I can. Now, about 90% of the Dezer Collection on the side of movie/tv vehicles are genuine screen used. The Replicas have interesting back stories. There are many many...many...display errors, due to the laziness of the current management and their expectations of the general public. they aren't catering to the super obsessed pop culture nerds like myself. If you want to see my old VIP Tour (check out Behind The Scenes Tour of RARE Screen Used Movie & TV Cars at Dezerland Orlando from Dec 18, 2021).
@@deadguyproductions251 I can’t begin to thank you for your wealth of knowledge!!! I am a BIG movie and TV car nerd. I had such a hard time telling what was screen used and not. I was telling my wife how hard it was because many of the placards were gone. Again thank you so much!
@AdventuringWithChris yeah. The information plaques were always a mess. I pulled as many glass covers as i could (they were always breaking). And i suggested so many other options. I was terminated after 2 years without reason, and many of my coworkers left after that as did management. The new management made changes, many not for the better. And it seems the museum is understaffed of regular tour guides. I never see them in videos anymore. But i still love the place. It was my favorite car museum. 😢
Enjoyed the video loved the Halloween decor ….
