The control head detail improve my crucifix so much...thanks to keep the videos up!!
cant believe that's been staring me in the face for 10 gd years....
Its good theoretically..however you are fighting a ragdoll, or might be fighting a ragdoll as well!! In street fight the opponent won't be allowing you this pacifity to complete the crucifix..i counted at least 5 vulnerabilities to the assailants body that could have crushed larynx , broke his nose and jaw while attempting this maneuver....
Lol if someone who trains is in side control I’m pretty sure they’ll just gnp you before they even bother goin for a crucifix
@@viniciussiqueira7798 you might want to rephrase your reply.. In English this time?! 😏 me thinks you suffered lots of GNP in your life you decided to try your luck in Bjj! How close am I? 🙂 However I assure you having spent a lifetime in mean streets..it all simmers down to gnp.. Negating the idea of this silly demo altogether
WOW, Will try today. Thank you VERY much for posting. Very well taught.
That forehead detail is money! Thank you for sharing!
Needed this, couldn't find it anywhere else. Forever grateful!
Nice setup
Damn Jeff Rockwell, haven't seen a video from you in years. Glad to see more, please keep it up, I've enjoyed learning from you for over a decade.
Justin Cox, haha thanks man. I've put a lot of stuff on a private channel for my students over the years, but haven't shown much publicly. That may change in the future, hope it helps!
awesome no gi chokes and coaching
Very good video
Wish I saw this before Masters Worlds. lol
Very nice! Thanks!
My favorite part of the series. Thanks!
langhi always go for submissions. obviously you haven't really watch any of his matches.
amazing thanks for share ;)
Not a fan of Langhi, dumb ass point player....what is BJJ if not about subs. I bet he sucks at no gi.
Very well done, thank you for posting
I hate this shit called "modern jiu jitsu" ..
on the baseball bat choke, once you step over to north/south-how do you prevent the guy from following or turning towards you to relieve the pressure?
Baratoplata
Nice very nice! These stuffs are like gold!
lol @ 7:48 to 7:55 don't lose focus! hits an omoplata sweep than at the end you hear LI WOAH! .... WOW! lol respect!
Jeff could you upload one with gi?
sweeps in 7:48!!!
Great info i keep getting stacked alot so this will def help out.
Thank you! Nice video!
Haaeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
I would either underhook his leg with my arm to prevent him from effectively lifting me, or if I made a mistake and missed my chance to do that, I would open my guard before he could lift me high enough to do any damage.
this type of bjj is not very eventfull ....
boom, boom , boom
I hear Lloyd Irvin's voice.
great series bro! Im heading to the gym to try this series!
Thank you for this tutorial, much better than those submission 101 vids. However, in terms of locking your hands, do you gable grip it, or do you grab your wrist with the other? Should your hands be against his throat, or all you need is for your forearm to be against his neck?
black belt techniqe !
@eduardo1983dudu Não, pois a data da postagem é de Julho de 2010.
@Brydonaka I hear you, that's how I do it (and how Marcelo shows it) with the gi. No gi he prefers to use the crossface and keep his head on the far side. I've been continuing to develop this pass since this video was shot; I don't always get as high as I show here, though I still do on occasion. I also like to try to get my upper body more perpendicular to my opponent's, and I try to use my free leg to kill his near arm before I press on his thigh if he is bugging me with it.
@mwallin12 Hard to say without seeing it, but maybe your opponent was able to get his bottom knee back up inside your hips, then went to full guard? Aside from re-sprawling to the side with your hips, you can block his knee with your hand, your foot, or the back of your own hamstring. The hamstring is the one I have to remind myself to use on occasion if the guy is fighting hard, keeping me low, and threatening to replace guard that way.
I like this pass but I prefer getting an underhook on the far side and putting pressure on the chin with my far shoulder with my head on the near side of their head touching the ground. While doing this I like to control the near side arm. I feel that is much more secure than the pass in this video but each to their own
im having ano gi tourny on the 7th, and ur videos have helped me prepare.thnk u
esse europeu eh 2011 ????
Very good!
4 years later and this video is still awesome!
Thanks for showing this awesome technique. I use it in class all the time, works great. But, yesterday in comp I tried it as usual and found myself put back in full guard. Was very odd since it never happened in training. Did I stay too low or what_
Cyborg looked really outclassed.
thanks
