    The sidestand struggle almost seems dangerous. I need to delete my safety switch. Maybe your spring is loose or loss tension?

    • @PandaintheDirt
      @PandaintheDirt 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah it's not great, since it's basically the equivalent of a sudden stall and can be a safety hazard. I originally thought it was a spring issue and started looking into solutions to it, and started keeping zip ties. Then it "stopped happening" for a while as I was just riding dirt roads on some group rides. When I got back in sandy/challenging terrain it began happening again though, even though from a bump perspective it wasn't anywhere worse. When I realized that even after adding the zip tie it still got loose, I just concluded that it *must* be that I'm pushing down on it with my heal. I cannot think how else it would be pulled downward with such force to come loose with a zip tie on it. Having said that, I do think I *also* want a stronger spring, as the stand shouldn't stay in the "slightly down" position afterwards. But I don't believe it will fix the problem assuming it's my heel. Having said all that - yes, I am considering doing a sensor fix as the overall safer option - but it's not obvious that it is. It's safer in the sense of avoiding engine cutouts while riding, but then how likely is it that I'm gonna forget to put the kickstand up at some point and cause a crash that way.... But yeah I'm leaning toward a permanent sensor fix combined with figuring out a stronger spring.

      Thanks! Yeah it's a constant struggle for me because I know most people don't want to watch super long videos. At the same time, I find myself valuing end to end footage of specific trails or routes from the perspective of someone who until recently was a beginner, and wanting to gauge the skill level required for riding a particular trail or even with a particular group.

  • @Zerotys_ADV

    • @PandaintheDirt

      SLMX is what I started with when I first had my initial dirt bike experience. Then Sedlak Offroad School (now called SoCal Offroad School). I've done one day with Motoventures (group). Then Rawhyde, and most recently West38Moto. My private training experience has been with SLMX (private only, never group), and Sedlak (private dirt bike training, then one group training for ADV bikes). I haven't had private ADV training yet - except "by accident" at RawHyde when I was the only person showing up for a pre-training clinic.

I never use more than 2bars even if just road riding. I'm having 12v socket air compressor with me but also don't like the hassle. So far it's working out pretty well w/o airing down though (running on road pressures), so I'm not in a terrible hurry but I'll give it a shot. Perhaps around the time I'll switch tires. Many thanks for the helpful video. You mounted the windscreen to the upper set of holes on the bike (not the lower set as shown in the instructions), correct? Apart from the mirrors hitting the windscreen at full lock, have you experienced any other issues with that, such as the screen fluttering at high speeds? Thank you again.

    • @PandaintheDirt
      @PandaintheDirt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep - I mounted it in the highest most position. I never tried the lower position because I knew I wanted it as high as possible. This is an interesting point, maybe if mounted lower there's a little more room. That said, I'm gonna keep it where it is regardless as the small amount of intersection isn't causing a real problem - and it only happens before the bike has auto-raised the windscreen. I've had no other issues that I've noticed. No sound/fluttering from the windscreen, no.

    • @PandaintheDirt
      @PandaintheDirt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh to be clear. When I saw in the video that they collide in the lower position, I am referring to the adjustability being in the low position. Meaning physically mounted in the highest possible location - but before the adjustability has raised it further after starting the bike up.

    I own the same bike/model. When heading into off-road, and especially into hard off road, loose or sandy sections it's best to completely kill the wheelie control and TC . I've ended up stuck and bogged a cpl times due to the TC shutting down power right as I need to gas it, lost momentum and dug a hole. The WC and TC act together, and while hardly intervening at mid to higher speeds it will surprise you at low speed by how much it kicks in even when set to the lowest possible levels. It's extremely sensitive when climbing loose surfaces and will catch you off gaurd every time if not turned off.

      @PandaintheDirt 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds pretty much perfectly consistent with my experience :D I should have spent the time to figure out how to turn it off completely before going out the first time. I wasn't used to off road ABS that's that sensitive.

      @@PandaintheDirt Everyone struggles with the menus at first, there's quite a bit in there. Now that I've owned mine for a few months I find it easy to find what I need. I typically don't kill the ABS as I don't find that an issue off road. It's only when pushing to fast that it'll cause an overshoot into corners off road generally for me. The WC and TC are the culprit, and as stated slow speed uphill in loose conditions it over--reacts even when set to (1) so completely OFF is the only option. Obviously getting stuck on these bikes, given their weight is best avoided. It happened to me again yesterday on a loose riverbed and took 4 attempts and 20 minutes to get back onto firm ground a mere 20 feet away. I was near the point of exhaustion and alone by the time I extracted it. *always kill TC/WC before entering if possible!!

      @@bmccameron7642 Yep. Sorry I actually meant TC/WC, not ABS. Though I prefer ABS off too for the rear wheel. In any case I figured the menus out (link in description), but I only did that in the evening after that first day. Shoulda looked into it on the first day before getting out there!

    What tires are you running on these trails. I have friends that ran the Dunlop TMM's and they said they were scary in some of the rougher areas.

      This is on the Motoz Tractionator Adventures. However prior to this, I had the Trailmax Missions on this bike and have ridden this trail several times with those tires - at least the bottom half. I can't quite remember if I rode the upper part up to the peak before or after. But, I've also ridden this since then on e.g. the 1250 with the Trailmax Mission. And on the Africa Twin and KTM 790 - both with less aggressive tires than than the tractionator adventure. I think that unless you're riding much harder and aggressively than me at least, the Trailmax Missions are completely fine on this trail. I'm not saying you wouldn't notice having less traction, but I never felt there was any issue/problem/concern with the missions on this trail. My main motivation for upgrading was to have a bit of an easier time in sand. I do notice the difference on trails like this, but I would have no reservation about the trailmax missions here.

      In th-cam.com/video/LseJWM6FsMw/w-d-xo.html I talk more about the difference I felt between the Trailmax Missions and the Tractionator Adventures (though it's mostly road focused because that's where the biggest difference was - exactly because these trails I was riding at the time aren't gnarly enough or these tires to make a huge difference).

    I heard that wheelie control messes TC. Check Big Rock Moto, Ian, explained it.

    • @PandaintheDirt
      @PandaintheDirt 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! So when I completely disabled TC, that included turning off wheelie control. However, in fairness I didn't try disabling wheelie control while keeping TC turned *on* at low levels. I hadn't seen anyone say that you need to disable wheelie control just for the normal 1-6 range of TC levels to work, and it did feel like the levels worked when I was adjusting them on that first day. If I ever ride one again I may experiment more but I *think* I'm good and that the turning off of wheelie control is for when turning off TC completely.

    Get it off road, turn wheelie control to 1 or 2, point it at a steep hill and watch it run out of power if you want to see the effect wheelie control has off road.

    How do you like your Chigee? or is that the Innovv?

    • @PandaintheDirt
      @PandaintheDirt 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's the Chigee. I mainly have it just for Android Auto support. The dash cam feature seems a bit meh mainly because it seems like a bit of a pain to get footage off it and such. But the basic Android Auto capability seems pretty solid. I would love for the screen to be a bit bigger, and it takes several seconds after it powers on for Android Auto to kick off; those are really the main things I'd change about it. The delayed coming on is mostly an issue when I *don't* want to use it. It'll auto-play media when it comes on. So if I'm e.g. going off road and I don't want any media to start playing I have to wait for it to automatically launch Android Auto mode only so I can turn it off. It's also slightly annoying at gas stations. If you turn off the ignition it'll turn audio off after 10 seconds or so when it goes off. It incentivizes me to pump gas keeping the ignition on just to avoid it. But overall I do like it a lot and I'd get it again if I needed one.

I’ve looked at many and probably got some Apple licensing thing these devices cannot have batteries and must be powered solely from the bike . 6” would be ideal , but would rather have the smaller screen than a whopping 7” screen .
