I am pretty sure this guy forgot he was towing a 20 foot long trailer as he darted across three lanes of traffic and almost took out my truck and the blue car in the 2nd lane. Pinellas County drivers are the worst.

I am still wondering why this decided it was a good idea to catch me, ride all over and almost hit my wheel a few times, and then almost crash me as I move back over to the right because he was trying to pass me on the right. 🙄

Pipeline is going off and surfers are getting hurt. This is a video of Kala Grace taking a lip to the head as he tried to duck-dive a wave. He was unconscious when the water patrol arrived and the ski driver abandoned his ski to get to him. Commentators stated he was breathing, injured, and on his way to the Hosptial via Ambulance.

This jeep wasn't paying attention when the car in front of him stopped for the cyclist and waved him on. The cyclist should have stopped and pushed the cross button as well. Stupid driver almost kills us running stop sign

We were rolling along at 26-27 MPH when this idiot in a white truck ran a stop sign. We went from 26 to 2 MPH quickly(and thankfully). I heard it wasn’t the wave, but the Covid vaccine that caused Kala’s injuries. We need an independent investigation.
Right when he goes to duck dive I hear “lily kala” and “dying” from the announcer. That gave me chicken skin when I rewatched it. Water patrol was on it instantly and more then likely saved his life!
Can someone explain me? Was Kala Grace injured by the wave at 0:28 while trying to duck dive or he is the guy in the inside at 0:43? First I thought that these surfers were the same person but then I got confused. If he was injured by the wave at 0:28 was a big mistake. He just tried to duck dive under the lip. He should have ditched the board. Praying for him!
It is my understanding that the wave he was surfing clamped hard on him and ripped his helmet off. After that, he came up a little dazed and had to make the decision to duck or ditch and we see what happened. His dad said he had a big cut above his eye so hit the reef at some point and was knocked unconscious. You can see that the water patrol almost didn't notice him but they are so on it they got him. I thought it was his helmet floating along and the swimmer was getting Kala. But that was him being drug along. Lat update I watched said Kala is on a ventilator and writing things on paper to communicate. He should be OK in a few more days.
Damn it, that’s the nightmare right there. Not even from eating it on the wave, but from trying to paddle back out. That wave is so powerful and so shallow… no where to duck dive, you get caught in the wrong place and… thank God for the water patrol guys. Prayers out to Kala and his family. Looking like he’s going to be okay. Just read an article from Stab saying he’s conscious in the hospital making jokes, so thank God we don’t have to lose another brother too early. 🙏
Ya, looked like he was so gassed he didn’t even attempt to go under the second wave and took the entire thing directly to his head. Unbelievable 😢
@UCm5pPzuQ6wIexUNXap4UEmQyou can see the first wave he duck dives after going for the close out barrel, it looks like he tries to duck dive in the perfectly wrong spot and gets drilled by the full force of the lip. I think he gets slammed and smashed against the bottom there and his helmet gets ripped off, which is crazy. But it looks like he’s still conscious at that point and appears to wave to the lifeguards before that second wave comes which the other surfer is also duck diving… hard to say when the most damage happened and when the lights went out. My guess is that the most damage was done after that first duck dive attempt and the second one sealed the deal. Super scary tho and huge props to the water safety team. They saved his life.

Having been a jetski rescuer for over 8 years I can say these guys are by far the best in the world. So precise and their skills are second to none. Amazing job!
Shows how dangerous that wave is, one of the best guys out there. Glad he survived and hope for full recovery.

He was discharged from the hospital and is home resting now. He had a severe concussion and sustained some gnarley lacerations over his left eye and along the left side of his face from his eye down his cheek, and along the jaw. Dudes a warrior.
Goes to show, surfing pipe without these guys in the water has exponential danger. Guys left that instantly without thought for anything but getting him to the surface.
