The Carnivino
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 8 เม.ย. 2016
Having recently adopted a drastically different nutritional lifestyle that consists of 95% DELICIOUS MEAT, I share my experiences with others to hopefully inspire people to take control of their health so that they feel great and energized, and defeat the longevity odds. I like to keep the carnivore lifestyle simple, so that it is easy to adhere to and sustainable, long term.
Eating my first ever SARDINES, and Taste-Testing Tuna - which is better, IMO???
In this video, I dive into a taste test and comparison of two different types of tuna from Costco to decide which one will be my go-to choice. But that's not all-I'm also trying sardines for the first time! These tiny fish are a nutritional powerhouse and a popular choice among carnivores, so I'm excited to see if they live up to the hype. Do they pass muster? Watch and find out!

Carnivore 100 Days

This is the first video in a series about my carnivore lifestyle. When I made this video, I didn't know what I would do with it. It was mostly for my own purposes, to chronicle my journey. I videoed it in portrait, not landscape, hence the weird shape for a TH-cam video. This is my first experience editing a video in iMovie. There is a steep learning curve there. In an effort to not let perfect...
Sardines provide a lot of nutrients, but I specifically eat them for the calcium, and high levels of EPA and DHA. Once I finish the fish, I will down the remaining butter and scrape the rest of the bowl into my mouth. I enjoy eating them because they make me feel great!
I like cottage cheese too! Slippery slope❤😂
Thank you😊😊
You are quite welcome!
I melt my butter in a skillet, add the drained sardines, break them up in the butter and gently warm it up. Then I add Redmond's organic season salt. I tried them this year for the first time as well. I think I got the idea from Lisa weideman, carnivore doctor.
Yes, I love Dr. Lisa's channel. I am going with her on the "Carb Sober Cruise" in February! I can't wait! Thanks for the sardine idea! I just ordered a variety three pack of Redmond's seasoned salts. I'm looking forward to adding some more seasonings to my diet.
How do you make your own whipping cream, please?
Hey, Beverley! I put whipping cream - I get the kind at Sprouts that is just CREAM - in a glass bowl and use the electric mixer on "Whip" setting for about 6-8 minutes. It eventually fluffs up like whipped cream. You can add stevia or allulose if you want to add some sweetness and you can have sober behavior around sweet things.
I make cream cheese with Amasi. I separate the whey and curds. Works well..
Interesting... I have never heard of Amasi. I just had to google it! 😆Thanks for watching, Beverley!
Siracha is good on pork rinds too!!
I am in my sixties too and also started carnivore in February. It’s been the best eating lifestyle for me. I enjoyed your video and enjoy many of the food items you shared especially the pork belly made in the air fryer. I, too, mainly shop at Costco for many of my food finds especially the meat. I just subscribed to your channel and wish you much success in this new endeavor.
Thank you, Suzanne! Isn't it just liberating? Not being influenced by foods and living in a healthy body? I had air-fried pork rinds yesterday for lunch! They are so yummy! I added some Redmond's smoked salt when they were done! Delish!!! Thanks for subscribing! Let's keep this thing going, together!
I need to kniw if you can drink milk or plant based milk on Carnivore. I can drink either one, but i dont want to mess up. Im starting carnivore tomorrow to see how it is. Please reply about the milk issue
Hey, Genia! I’m so glad you’re starting Carnivore tomorrow! 🎉 Animal based milk is Carnivore, but plant based “milk” is not. But I would limit plain milk just because of the lactose (sugar) content and I would choose whole organic milk or raw milk, if available in your area. We don’t drink milk, but I keep some organic whole milk around for the grands, since I don’t want them drinking juice any more. (Their mommas agree.) Wishing you amazing results! You will love it!
As I understand this diet you can eat anything that comes from animals which would include milk, eggs, pork ,beef, poultry, cheese, cottage cheese etc
Subscriber number 204 here. Good luck with your channel. You are a natural!!!
Awww! Thanks, number 204! 🤣Glad to have you in the boat! 🚣♀
Excellent video. Thank you 🙋♀️texas
Hey, Texas! Thank you! Hope you stick around for more!😃
For your Buffalo Chicken dip, do you mind responding with the weight of the cans of chicken? I don’t shop Costco, so I’m not sure of the quantity you are referring to. Thank you so much, really appreciate your content. Ps, I searched, and see 12.5 oz cans. Is that what you use? Oh and for the cream cheese, when you say one block, are you referring to a standard 8 oz. package or something supersized from Costco? Thanks again. 😊
I just found you, and I’m considering Carnivore. Your tips were very helpful. I just wondered if you find social situations very difficult- I do, esp going to restaurants w our friends. Suggestions? Thx!
Hi, Jean! Thanks for the comment! That's a very important question, and it is a challenge. I find that if I have some say over which restaurant we go to, I can always find a selection that suits my needs. Now, it may come with a side of potatoes and brussels sprouts, but I either just ask for that to not be included, or I ignore it, or I give it to someone else at the table. My go to order at a nice restaurant is a steak with an add-on of shrimp or scallops. At a moderately priced restaurant, i can get a burger with cheese, egg, and/or bacon. I am a moderator, so I don't have trouble being around foods I don't want to eat and being tempted. Now, WINE is another story! 😬I would say definitely give Carnivore a 90 day trial period. I feel certain you will feel so good at the end of 90 days, that you will want to continue at some level. I now call myself "dirty carnivore," as I have added back spices and a couple very low carb foods, like dill pickles and sauerkraut.
One can usually order steak and salad. I do that. I find It's good for me to have a little break. I also use feta cheese every now and then. Eggs are our friend. All the best😊.
That is an amazing testimony! ❤
Isn't it, though!?!? Since we filmed this video he has been on a strict carnivore plan and he says he is feeling NO PAIN WHATSOEVER! He is running sprints again and feels like Usain Bolt!
That’s the butter u get too and I freeze it
I probably should start freezing some as well. That's a good idea! Thanks!
@ yes it works great cz we live over 1 hour away from Costco so I really buy in bulk when I go.
May I give you a hug ? You are telling my story: I am 57 now and was diagnosed with celiac disease in summer. I have several autoimmune diseases, one of them is a type 1 diabetes. My HbA1c was always much too high, although I did all things I could do, including an insuline pump. In the beginning of 2023 things get so worse, that I was one step away from dialysis and amputation . Then keto came in my live and within half a year ALL things get better. Until this summer. Stupid me I started eating sugar and lot of carbs again ( i am definitely not a moderator 🙈). After two weeks I feel so, so sick. My new rheumatologist ( i have a disease called CREST-SYNDROM too) immediately thought of celiac. We didn't do the labs too because it was obvious. Ather that I thought that i could eat all the "good" stuff again, only without gluten. Lucky me, it doesn't work, my diabetes went worse and worse... since three days I am back on track to ketovore. Maybe I will test carnivore. Thanks a lot for sharing your story! I am sure, the holy spirit himself lead me to your channel 🙏 Blessings from Germany Gabi
@@gabrieleweber4665 I love hugs! I am a “hugger” too! Unfortunately I believe a lot of people suffer because their celiac disease is misdiagnosed or not diagnosed until it’s too late; so much damage is already done. I’m glad you have a diagnosis now and are well on your way to health. We have to advocate for ourselves. No one else will!
How do you know the pork rinds are fried in?
@@Gods_creation.His_harvest The ingredients will say. Some of the brands I have looked at have soybean oil or safflower oil in them.
I loved your podcast thanks for the tips
You are quite welcome! Come back soon!
I’m an abstainer for sure! One of anything always leads to at least two😕
Your video popped up on my feed and I’m so glad it did! Enjoyed this first part. Going to find the second part. So funny when you say, “Mr. Non carnivore is having this” and then you go on to say, “but I’m having this” and it’s also something that’s non carnivore 🤣🤣🤣 Hilarious! Anyway, thank you for sharing with us! 100 days carnivore here and loving it!!! ❤️💪🏼🥩🥓🧈🍳
Yeah, since I am currently in the category of "dirty carnivore," I find that often! 🤣 i guess I have different levels of things that I don't tolerate in my diet - seed oils are one , grains and added sugars are others... He still does all the things, including sugar, grains, tubers, fruits... But he is coming along! Incidentally, "Mr Non-Carnivore" has also lost 35 pounds while I was on carnivore! Life ain't fair!🤣
And congrats on your 100 day mark! Isn't it great to feel so great! I wish everyone could/would experience what I have over the last (almost) 300 days!
@ wow that’s awesome! But I hear ya, it’s so much easier for men to lose weight than it is for us ladies. Definitely not fair 😅 My hubby just went carnivore about two weeks ago and he already loves the way he feels. So glad we can now do it together! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@sanctified47 It's much easier with in-home support! 😉
Haha I was just going to ask if you had a dog who was drinking!?? 😂❤❤❤❤I have a problem with cheese. I can’t keep it in the house. I’ll eat pounds of it. I eat low carb, 20 grams or less. Ketovore. 🤣
Yes, cheese is a slippery slope for many people, because of the quesomorphines in it, it can replace carbs as an addiction pretty quickly. And, unfortunately, it also has carbs in it, so just having eggs with cheese can get me to 10 grams of carbs in a hurry. Thanks for joining me and for your comment!
@ Oh, that’s the addictive part of cheese! Thank you!
Sardines in airfryer with butter will make crispy and more tolerably
You popped up in my feed. What a pleasure. Your video was very useful and the way you deliver a message is clear and enjoyable. The Gorgonzola has huge flavor without needing a large quantity . Thank you! I just followed you. I loved this! PS Ballerina Farm has clean jerky!
Thank you for your kind comments, and I will definitely check out Ballerina Farm jerky. I was supremely disappointed one time while traveling and going to Bucky's, having heard great things about their jerky, and none of it was carnivore friendly. We have made our own in the past, but we gave our dehydrator to our son, Cory, who is also a carnivore. He is using it with great results!
Enjoyed your top 10…… I have all those items in my pantry/fridge.my husband not a carni follower so preparing his meals tempt me daily. I’ll need to have my meals first before I prepare his to keep me on the straight and narrow. I’ll be looking out for more goodies from you❤thanks🥩
Thank you for your comment and I'm glad to have you along! IDK what your experience is, but my husband is slowly converting over to a more carnivore-ish diet. He has stopped making his own side dishes, for the most part. (He made some rice the other night to go with oxtails.) He mostly indulges his omnivore inclinations when he eats out. And, along the way, I have become less and less tempted by non-carnivore foods he brings into our house. I call that progress! 😃
My hubs won’t do carni either, but complains of how tired he is and how his joints hurt. He says he doesn’t want to give up his veggies I just do me! I don’t want all the sugar and chemicals!!!
@@grannyboo2823 I have had several family members say they don't want to give up their veggies. I don't see it... I never really liked vegetables - I liked all the stuff i put on them. Just plain broccoli or plain asparagus or brussels sprouts is awful. It's all the stuff you put on them that makes them good! My husband is so close to being all carnivore. When I started this, I told him that I would be in charge of the meat each night and he was in charge of his own sides. Now he rarely makes a side dish to go with his meat. But if we eat out, he eats his side dishes. His biggest weakness is potatoes. He is basically a "meat and potatoes guy" now!
I make my own beef jerky. I buy lean roasts when they are on sale at the grocery store and they slice it to jerky thickness. I have a dehydrator and just use salt. I keep them in the freezer because occasionally there is some fat still on and take out what I need day by day. People who have tried it love it! I have two work colleagues that always pay me to make them some.
That is awesome! We had a dehydrator we used to make venison jerky several times, but when our son, Cory, went carnivore we gave it to him. He is making homemade jerky with great results. I think it's awesome that you're making it for your friends, now! My aunt used to be known for the fudge that she would make for all her friends family at Christmas. Maybe I will start making jerky as my love project!😄
Howdy Maam, I try carnivore with the assumption that i eat three meals a day , eggs and meat, just enough not stuff, but it seems i am gaining not losing weight, it has been 8 months , I recently cut out Dairy. My question is do you count your calories if you want to lose weight?
I forget to mention, i am peri menopause, 55 years, five feet tall, 140 lbs, goal is 115 lbs
Are you gaigning weight or fat? I found that you develop muscle more easily, even without any sports. Often, the body keeps using fat for cellular healing processes before it's ready to let go of the excess fat. Don't restrict calories, learn to listen to your body. Eat until you're "comfortably stuffed", as Anthony Chaffee says, and feel free to leave a meal out, if your body doesn't need food yet. If the "3x a day" is just for the ritual, have a cup of broth and an egg or a few slices of Italian or French salami. And do you still use alcohol or softdrinks?
@@lilaschwarz1236 Great comment, Lila! And good point. I have done an inbody test a few times through my journey and have gained muscle, while not even trying!
Howdy! 🤣 Thanks for the comment. I have only tracked my macros consistently for one month - in October. I did a challenge with a private group I am in. I found my average daily calories to be around 1700. But that is not my focus. My focus is on keeping my fat percentage at between 70-80% of total calories, while getting at least 120 grams of protein/day. I was using the carb manager app to track. It's pretty simple, and you may want to give it a try for a stint. It is my understanding that the body will focus on healing first before it will allow the weight to come off. Also, you may be gaining muscle while losing fat, keeping the scales at an equilibrium. Focus on non-scale victories, and track things like waist size as well. Keep at it!
@@lilaschwarz1236 none i only drink black coffee and plenty of water
I like cooking chicken drumsticks in th air fryer. fish too expensive. red meat too expensive for me. I buy the reduced ground beef at Walmart. my drumsticks are $1.27 a pound. I have a 6 foot chest freezer in my kitchen. love thanksgiving. I buy the 88 cents per pound turkeys in bulk and throw them in the freezer. carnivore for 1 year now. diet soda to drink. no cheese. no milk. no butter for me. I was vegan since I was a teenager. I live in Joshua tree ca. most of my life and birth in chicago.
Darren - I'm so glad you have found my channel! Congrats on the 1 year carniversary!!! One of the things I love about this WOE is that it doesn't have to be expensive. The carnivore doctors say that even the cheapest meat is better than any of the processed foods most of us had in our diets before. I hope you continue to make good progress in this lifestyle.
Kefir!
I have never tried Kefir! Thanks for the comment. I will make a point to try it soon!
Jones sausage in the white tube is clean
I will have to look for Jones sausage. I don't know if we have that locally. Thanks for the tip! I also found that the wal-mart brand sausage is cleaner than, like, Jimmy Dean. I have purchased that a couple times!
On day 4 of my journey and have ate ground beef and eggs everyday with some bacon.im a picky eater so came to see if theres some ideas for me. Oh and I'm in Central Alabama

I like your show...just found it and subscribed. I also eat chicken wings and occasionally Greek yogurt. Blessings!
Thank you! I''m glad to have you along! Chicken wings are great as well - I mention in a previous video that they are one of my go-tos when eating out, If I can order them grilled or baked and not dropped in seed oils. They are deliciously fatty. I, personally, have never been a yogurt fan, but I do love some cottage cheese once in a while!
Love me some chicken wings too and I eat yogurt I make everyday.
@@teresawhite791 You make your own yogurt! That is hard core! #respect

What brand of frying pan are you using? I love your videos. I actually just discovered your channel. Love that your ideas are quick and easy.
Thank you for those kind words! This TH-cam channel is truly a passion project for me. My frying pans are JA Henckels that I got at Costco a while ago. Here is a link to similar pans: amzn.to/3AB3S62
Do you eat yogurt if so what kind
Actually, I do not eat yogurt. I wouldn't have a problem with it, just not something that has ever been a staple in our house. I do like eating cottage cheese occasionally, though! I like it plain, now, with just some salt and pepper.
Yes, yogurt is great for the fermentation - get full fat, either Greek or regular, plain. I also enjoy buttermilk, very refreshing! And cheeses, they say the aged ones are better but any of them are OK. And 'horror of horrors' (for the purists) I am NOT lactose intolerant and have gone back to drinking MILK, so delicious -- mixed with a grass fed protein powder it can taste like ice cream.
My "Horror of horrors" is worse than yours; I eat sauerkraut and dill pickles! Also fermented foods!
@@TheCarnivino Yum, my faves!!
Thanks for the years of trauma now looking back at how many sausage and ground beef tubes I have cut through in 37 years!!!! Beej made his TH-cam debut! Looking forward to cooking some meat on that grill with him very soon! Also, canned chicken for buffalo chicken dip is a gameday travesty... that's why the Auburn Tigers have been losing. Use a whole rotisserie chicken, or smoke a chicken, and you have a million dollar buffalo chicken dip. Top it with cheddar cheese, blue cheese, bacon crumbles, and chopped green onion is optional.
Your million dollar chicken dip is definitely suprior to my quick and dirty version!

Amazing story, Mother! This opened my eyes to some of the troubles you went through when I was a kid that I was oblivious to. I’m so thankful to God for him letting me be your son. He works in mysterious ways, but is good all the time!

I am a big believer in the carnivore diet and Have been following all the « carnivores » for about 7 years now and I still can’t pass that first 5 days of the « keto flu & oxalate dumping » I get meat repulsed.. I am also an ex vegan want to be that got so sick I got on the GAPS protocol from dr. Natasha Campbell Mcbride to try and fix the veganism damage and that is when I had my first « Ah ha moment » of feeling the healing benefits of bone broths, meats & fats. But now I feel I may need to ditch the fruits & veggies and this is extremely hard for me. We started to homestead back in 2015 and even started a TH-cam channel ( letshomesteadinstead) but no longer upload. We bought a bigger farm etc. Long story short.. I am debilitating fast and I need to get really motivated and get passed the first 5 days and meat aversion and social awkwardness with this life style!:) Thank you for sharing your experience and journey 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for sharing, Stefani! I know you must be feeling lonely, frustrated, and confused. I, obviously, believe in the healing power of meat! Also, my son has CRPS, and sought treatment at a clinic in Arkansas called The Spero Clinic. "Spero" means HOPE! Their motto is the latin phrase Dum Spiro Spero. It means as long as I breathe, I hope! Their lead doctor, Katinka Van der Merwe, wrote a book called Taming the Beast, about fibromyalgia. While we were there, there were several E-D patients and fibro patients there that received relief. You may want to pick up that book. And keep eating that meat! and butter!!! Dum Spiro Spero, girl! I'm so happy for your success and I love your story. How long did it take till you started to see weight loss
Hey, Pamela! Thank you! The weight came off right away. I believe it was inflammation, not necessarily fat at first. I think it was like 3 pounds the first week, that I’m pretty sure was inflammation . Then it was 1-2 pounds per week, pretty consistently. I saw a difference in the way my clothes fit pretty quickly as well!
@@TheCarnivino I lost about 12 lb in the first 3 weeks and have not lost anything this last week at all. I haven't cheated not one bit I actually love this eating style. Are you counting your calories? I wonder if I need to tweak what I'm doing or just give it more time for my metabolism
@@PamelaBrownTheBuzz I have used the free version of the Carb Manager app, just for accountability. My experience is that a lot of people that start Carnivore don't eat ENOUGH. Since so many of us are accustomed to restricting calories, it's a hard habit to break. Plus, I am often just not hungry. I currently have my goals on Carb Manager set to about 1800 KCal with no more than 12 grams of carbs, and about 70% fat and 25% protein.
And, you may have lost 12 pounds of inflammation, and now your body is going to focus on healing. Once it has done that, it will begin to let go of the fat.
@@TheCarnivino thanks for your reply and your encouragement. This is the best I have felt in about four or five years. I hope the wait starts to come off because my life is changing for the better especially since I found your channel 😘🙌🏼
I'm for sure an "abstainer". I wouldn't call 8 Raising Cane's chicken fingers, with 8 Cane's sauces, and a sweet tea moderation at all. Eating that tastes soooo good in the moment, but feeling the repercussions after a couple times eating that made me realize the gluttony isn't worth it.
You look great, but you always have. Very interesting and you have a knack for this. Can’t wait for the next video.
This is the most sustainable way of eating and I have more energy than ever. And 38 pounds down!
I am so proud for you! I know you have tried many other things in the past. It's simple, not easy! But once you get past the first few weeks, the cravings go away and it's smooth sailing!
Excellent video mom! You’re thriving now and I love to see it! What you covered for twenty minutes is only the tip of the iceberg. Looking forward to hearing what you cover next. BTW, you might be 100 when my kids get married at the snails pace I’m going.
I love you so much and I am immensely grateful that you introduced me to the carnivore lifestyle back in January! I'll be tickled to dance at YOUR wedding, whenever it is! Hugs and kisses! Mom
