How to check your injectors using a Multimeter it’s quick and fast!! Make sure to Do this before buying new injectors!! It could save you literally thousands!!!! The name is Budget M3 for a reason.     When tested at a stand, a 100% guarantee costs $7. I did it yesterday on N43, there are no nets at the entrance anymore. Here they mistakenly write that different revisions are not possible. CAN! I collected one row of two 03, 09 and one 11. You can click on the nickname and look.

    These injectors cannot be checked with a multimeter. I set the opening pulse to 150 Volts. Pressure range on the test bench 160-200 Bar

    False these are piezoelectric you can’t tell anything this way

    You can test the impedance on injectors without removing them from the engine

    would this test the internals for leaks in the injectors?

      No it would not. For a leak test you need to send them off to a shop to get tested or.. pull them but leave them attached the fuel rail.. look up a how to test injecotrs for leaks there is a video out there

      No you don’t.. I removed them to check the seals and couplers

      Yes just disconnect the injectors ground and wiring harness.

      My thought too... why go through the hassle of taking them off the head if all you have to do is unplug the connector

      ​@budgtm3215 hey man is the ohm test, 100%. I have a ton of used injectors and majority are reading between 10 and 30 Mohms.

    To pull the injector out, loop a piece of rope around the injector and pull. They come right out without plier markings..

    @ BUDGTM3 ouch that Breather is like $120 w shipping. Yikes I’d of def contacted the company they very well may have done something for ya.. def a shitty design I think the neck that gos in the cover needs to be 3/4-1” longer and needs it’s own rubber seal.

    U can just use one of the fuel lines from the rail/injector to lift out the injectors . Doesn’t hurt the line@ all.. Anyone planning on doing n54 injectors don’t sweat it it’s CAKE. 🎂 🍰!! Be sure to code new #s tho to the car..

    Index 11-12s can only be mixed w ea other. Index 1-10 can *NOT* be mixed w 11 or 12s. As the 11-12s are entirely different internally.

    One of my bicycle tools threaded perfect like inside the bedals or bottom bracket pusher ehh. Previous owner did 3x index 12 then 7 9 9 why? Strange also my line air water trap also threads on… heheheh nice handle (compressed air tools)

    If your injectors are less than index 11 you might consider buying a set or half set of index 12’s. One thing the DME requires is that all 3 injectors in each bank are the same index. It’s actually okay to have different indexes in each bank so long as all in a bank are the same. Don’t forget to recode your new injectors also. Also, N54 injectors are piezoelectric, not a coil like all other injectors, so measuring resistance might not tell you much of a story. Lastly, due to ridiculous prices these days, you might have luck sending them out to get cleaned and renew the piezo stack instead of buying new.

      11 and 12s will work together but def can’t mix1-10 w the 11 and 12s..

      It's not really an issue despite BMW saying this officially. People on forums have ran different indexes no matter the bank and myself to and did not have any glaring issues

    Generally these fail at the pintle seat so this check will do nothing for you

    Hi you Can’t check a injector like this, you just check your sparkplug is there a black and sotty sparkplug then you have a leaking injector

    I hear you. I don't want to have a gutted car either. I like what "Zero to 60" has done with one of his cars when he had it fully road comfort but it was a budget build using 17t ebay turbos and everything budget and he was running over 625hp to the wheel. (And not even at it's max potential) . He ran that for over two years and now is trying other ideas to explore and learn as well as teach. But the comfort of it is part of the cool factor to me.

    I really like you video. I'll be checking out some of your other ones too.Do you know if the testing is the same for the other lower index number injectors too? Like is it 200 to 160 ish type thing of index 9 or 10's for example? But couldn't you just do this with the injectors still installed? If the battery is disconnected I should be able to test like this without wrecking my seals and couplers I'd think. I don't see why not. Getting those couplers for a reasonable price is impossible! Then doing the seals isn't so simple either so I'd like to not have to replace them all if I can help it.

    Why do you have so much positive pressure in the crankcase, to have oil spilling out? You have an upgraded pcv? I have the VTT crankcase breather, works perfect👍

      It’s not VTT it’s Vader solutions. it’s VS not VTT.

      @@coynor1 I know. The VTT crank case breather cap works good I’ve heard. The on from VS Omar is constantly open which means it just leaks and breathes oil no matter what.

      @@budgtm3215 Having the check valve/ball definitely helps with keeping your valve cover under vacuum, as well as aiding in turbo oil draining; etc, which VTT has on their breather cap. One thing I did notice about the Vader cap you threw away was that you were missing the rubber gasket on the inside of the cap.

    You make it look so easy 😂 A friend of mine has an 08 335i he’s had it sitting for awhile (couple years) he wants to junk it lol told him ill give him 1k i took a look at the car its starts up fine but after a couple seconds the fan turns on full blast. I also pulled the coils and spark plugs out had some oil on them. And the oil smells like gas 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ you as an experienced owner would it be worth buying it off him or should the junk yard be its new home? Lol Thanks in Advance 🤙🏽

      @@sijosue Yea I paid $1500 for one with a dead HPFP and it needed a wheel bearing as well as all the regular maintenance. Driving it now (it has 190.000 Miles on it LOL) after doing FBO's and new 17t turbos and I'm about to bring it to the 600 hp mark. But as usual I'm chasing things like a boost leak and need to get index 12 injectors still. LOL.

    Good info man! Have misfire on 3 and 4 after changing my valve cover gasket due to spark plugs fouling out with oil. I've put on new plugs and coils and is still misfiring on 3 and 4. Do you think that what happened to yours is the same with mines? I'm assuming your misfire is solved.. and did you have to recode your injectors? Thanks...

      Any new or replaced injector yes has to be coded to the car .. u can also get away w using same decoupler ring just be sure the little tabs are pushed in to the injector where they ride.. tip for ya use some Teflon tape and wrap it around the decoupler ring and the ledge at the tip the tape just adds some extra seal to the injector.

      No this is just to test if your injector is functioning properly. You can tell your injector is leaking if your coils or plugs smell like gas.

      Yes you can! Just unplug the electrical connection on top of the injector.
