Yes, you should ask about the interview. That's not cheating, it basic research, and it can help you get a better sense if the position is actually a good fit for YOU. A former co-worker recently reached out to me because he was interviewing with my current company and I was thrilled to be able to try to help him.

Loved this video! I definitely think you should reach out to the person you know already in the position. Especially if it’s one that interests you. You can position the question that way too “Hey, I’m really interested in _____ and have an interview scheduled. I was wondering if you think there’s anything specific I should prepare for?” Just a thought. Good luck!

I love the idea of using the weekly predominantly for the TCMC prompts. I would love to be able to use the Cousin, but I always struggle with how to use all the sections and the space. I look forward to seeing more of how you use this beautiful planner. Happy new year! X

Techo kaigi is a "notebook meeting" or a chance to reassess your planner needs :) there are a lot of techo kaigis on YT if you're more curious about it. I adore my Cousin. I am more of an Avec girl though. I use it for my school needs (I am a SpEd teacher) and personal. It is truly the perfect planner.

I dabbled a bit this year trying different books. But I always come back to my Cousin. My Cousin truly is my brain on paper. I got a teaching job and it works so well to align my personal tasks with work (all in one book -- the one book to rule them all). I don't use it for memory keeping, just keeping my life on track. I decided to use a Weeks for my health and wellness book, which is perfect! I am solid on my books for the year. It feels so good :) Good luck figuring it out!

I am in a similar boat, I love my cousin but some days it just seems to big but, I am afraid the a6 is too small... I also like the bigger weeklies cause I do use those a lot!

You could go A6 and add tip in pages of trp (hobonichi papers?) where you need it. Or use the free notebook Hobonichi sent this year as it's A6. I do prefer the look of your A6.

So I feel like you and I are kinda "twinsies" on the Hobo struggle. I love your idea for the weekly. I absolutely adore my Cousin and already have the Avec system ready for 2025 but I really want something that I can use at work that isn't necessarily my life, if that makes sense? I have been playing with my A6 a bit and am going to give it a try. I bought one for 2025, too. Ugh. Okay, hopefully I can make a two book system work. We'll see...... I use the Hobo original as my health journal and daily journal…I just love that little darn book! I use the Weeks as my planner…also love that book! I think you should go for the Cousin in 2025 🥰

I bought my A6 for $18 and just got it today so I’m excited to see this video!

B6 sterling ink planner could be a best of both worlds. A size between the a6 and a5 and with monthly, weekly and a lot of undated notes pages for daily plans or journaling.

I mentioned earlier that I am going to buy 2… (and pray it’s ONLY 2)…. I love the a-5 size so thats easy enough, my problem is I am a little bored with only a cousin. I cant go head on into another size planner system, as I went deep into rings before I found the Hobo and fountain pens. Anyway, just wanted to swing in… I am new here. catch you on the next one😊

Ive been in a cousin for 4 straight years, and now I am debating about changing it up with a Sterling Ink. However I still had to buy one on the launch on the 1st. Now I am gonna use TWO!!!! 😂

Ive decided on an A6 for the daily litany of 'take iut trash, go get milk, stop at the bank' etc. Then an A5 for my actual planner/journal.

I need a hobonichi day free with weeklies and that would be perfection 😢

I started out this year in an A6 and by April I knew I needed more room for journaling. I got the A5 in July and loved it so much I took and back planned the whole year in it.

You should flip a coin and see how you feel by the result.

Personally I'm settled on an A6 original for my planner and a companion B5 journal. I chose the A6 Hobonishi because it has just enough space on the pages for note taking, time keeping and recording some quick thoughts while also being super portable. Anything longer form that I want to write, and semi-daily journal entries, go in the B5 companion journal which stays at home unless I'm on holiday or on a trip somewhere. Haven't decided exactly what B5 companion journal I'm going to go with for 2025 but I'm leaning towards a Leuchtturm at the moment. Great vide, thanks for sharing your thought process.

I tried the A6, and it just didn't feel very functional for what I needed. Like you, I am in education. I am in a SpEd teacher apprenticeship program and completing my student teaching, so I have a LOT going on. Between student teaching and keeping on top of dates there, I need to keep on top of dates for my SpEd TAP program, plus dates for things I need to keep on top of for my classes. I adore the A6 size, but it is not practical. I truly need the snapshot of the weekly overview and I don't see the A6 supplement as the answer, it is just too small. Cousin it is for me. Even after finishing my degree and apprenticeship program, I will need the bigger size. There will always be things to keep on top of between IEPs, PLCs, things that need to be done, my family and personal life. I don't see an A6 as the answer for me. Maybe it will work for you?? I love my Cousin anyway. Good luck figuring it out!!

After 4 years in Hobonichi with 2 cousins 1 cousin avec 2 days free(one A6 one A5), i finally realized what i need for planning. An A5 Jibun Techo hahaha. And a A5 hobonichi plain graph notebook for bullet journaling and all the space I could ever want. I like hobonichi grid and paper, so I'm getting the plain ol' notebook for daily planning, brain dumping, bujo, space intensive needs etc. But using the Jibun Techo for it's weeklies, and monthlies that i don't like setting up. And Jibun's A5 is slim so that's a plus. I wish hobonichi had a planner that was like the cousin but with completely blank undated dailies :(

I use the A6 as my journal. I use TCMC monthly washi & deco on my monthly pages since she doesn’t have A6 monthly kits.

Ugh. I'm having the same problem. Last year was my first year in Hobonichi and I used the A6. This year for memory keeping I tried the Cousin Avec so I could have more room, but I also don't really use the weeklies. I found a way to use them, but I'm not sold on it. I ordered a 2025 Cousin and an A6 Avec and I am hoping when they get here I can decide. I use a Weeks for my EDC for actual planning, so it's just trying to decide which to use for journaling/memory keeping.

And the answer is.....A6 Kinbor! It doesn't have the quotes in the bottom, so it has more space to write!

OMG I think we are all trying to figure out our 2025 planner plan. Sooo glad Im not alone 😂. Also Helen’s Instagram post mentioned her adding an A6 to her Hobonichi order!! So hopefully we will see her spreads in 2025! Great video. I too would like to have use 1 book, however the A5 is so big to carry in my purse. I normally get the weeks, but sometimes need a little more writing space. Wish Hobonichi would come out with a B6 cousin size. However, I say stick with A5 that way you have the needed writing space. Better to have more space than not enough.

If carrying isn't an issue, go for the A5 Cousin. Then you won't run out of space. Personally I'm moving to A6 as the Cousin is too big and I don't use the weekly pages. But it's memory keeping only for me as I plan primarily in a weeks.

I’ve used a weeks before but never a cousin but wanted to the rest of this year to try out to see if I use one for 2025 and so I ordered a 2024 one but I’m going to have sooo much wasted and I didn’t know what to do. Ur video has inspired me to go back through previous planners I’ve used this year and go thru this new one and just fill it out as I can.

I didn't order until yesterday, but I got the Through the Purple Night weeks and the 5 year A6 gift box set, along with a couple of the new notebooks and stationery.

I like that you tell us your age. And that you are a mom. I feel like a lot of the planners on the Internet are either childless or their kids are grown. I’m a toddler mom and it’s nice to see someone with young kids in this space.

It’s not pocket size. But it’s intentionally smaller than A6 so you can slip it in the pockets of your A6 hobo covers. If you want a6 size there’s booklets from some shops.

I always get a Hobonichi Weeks. I don’t think I’ll be getting the cousin since I’ve gotten it for 2 years and it just doesn’t work for me. I’m debating about getting an A5 day free to journal when I want but idk lol

Any vertical planner setup works in the Cousin and vice versa. So don’t limit yourself to folks that use the Cousin. You can get inspo from users of some of the other amazing vertical planners out there - especially the other TRP vertical planners.

Girl, I think you and I are on an identical wavelength. I have felt the pull back to my Cousin, too. I still am using my Stalogy and might make that my work/school planner. Theory of Lauren is a good one to watch. She has good Cousin pages. I struggle with the weekly, too. I find my style matches what Helen does most. I like to forward and back plan in mine. It makes it nice.

This year I finished all my passport and narrow TN inserts, so I’m trying out Planner Perfect in personal size. I’ve never used either, so I’m excited to try it first August!

I honestly did the same. The self-induced pressure from the pre-printed planners is not needed in my life. I am actually beginning a SpEd Teacher Apprenticeship Program, starting back to school, and working. I don't need pressure from a notebook to add to the chaos of life. I adore my B6 Stalogy. It is EXACTLY what I need, as I need it. I structure my dailies similar to the Cousin because I like the time ladder and then a spot for to-do's, I did NOT love the weeklies in the Cousin so I do my weeklies more like a Papertess, then I have the openness of "the next blank page" and can use it as I need it. I honestly don't see myself going back to a pre-printed planner. I love the freedom of my Stalogy. Plus the book is just perfect :)
