Offhauling old 1960s landfill to new landfill
The property we're off-hauling in this video was an old landfill from the 1960's. Part of the reclamation process includes removing all the old garbage and whatever else might be buried out here! We worked on this project for a few weeks and pulled out about 50 loads a piece and a few hundred loads between all the trucks. Each load was about a 2.5 hour round trip.

Offhauling a 10 million dollar lakefront property

This Lake Tahoe property, with its own private dock & beach, sold for 9.3 million in 2021. The new owner then demolished every bit of the old home including the foundation. In its place will eventually be a custom build, ranging upwards of 20 million dollars. Lakefront property in this area isn't cheap!

We started off the day with a few home deliveries to various customers and finished with bringing some loads to the hot plant. Asphalt is made with a few different aggregate products (sand, crusher dust, 1/2", 3/8" and 3/4" MA). Paving with our favorite crew! This is a busy road through town and the hardest part was navigating all the traffic. Snowstorms on the horizon! This means we bring in more road sand. Today we hauled to one of the lower elevation sand houses. They wanted 200 tons on the day, which we completed between the two of us✅.

For this job, we offhauled lightweight brush from a custom home site along the lake. The owner of this property is actually the CFO of a 30 billion dollar company. This was one of the dustiest jobs that we've ever been on and we definitely had to blow out the air filters when it was over! Hauling road sand up 6000ft. Getting DIRTY!

In the winter we haul road-sand which is used to sand the roads after winter storms. This helps with de-icing and allows vehicles to make it over the summit more safely. The more it snows, the more sand we bring in. This video primarily features one sand house but there are 5 that we've hauled to. It's a good gig for the winter, the only problem is the trucks get absolutely filthy with road spray!

Fun day hauling out of one of our favorite quarries. We have a lot of history out here and its always good to come back. The first load of boulders knocked the truck so hard that the camera fell into the bed and almost got crushed! It was also nice to finish out the day with some smooth loads of 3/4 ab base rock over to a local landscape yard.

Ya the grinding days are sweet! We usually put less miles on the truck and there's alot of standby time, which is nice on hourly jobs
Looking to get my own truck is it hard to get in with the quarry?
It's more about getting in with local trucking brokers. Look for the largest haulers in your area and check to see if they subhaul. Most of our work is subhauling for other larger trucking companies who broker out work 👌. You can even call and ask if they subhaul. If they do, you'll fill out a subhaul packet with your information and get on their subhauler list. Once you're on the list with five or six different local brokers you will stay pretty busy

For loose gravel--Set the chains tight, about 6in gap. Put the bed up about 6ft to start so the bottom is angled right over the top of your cab..then idle forward in first gear as you release the locks. Stay about 4-5mph and check the mirrors and slowly bring the bed higher until you're empty!
