Guitarists: is a perfectly set action as important as you think it is? (to your tone)
Hear the difference between a guitar with a properly set action and an improperly set action. I put intonation and string height to the test, however, the impact is minor when compared to just a single string being out of tune. Moral of the story = be careful not to hit the headstock of your guitar against the cymbals?

Solid vs Hollow body guitars - Micro-phonics demonstration
มุมมอง 472 ปีที่แล้ว
A lot of artists are using in ear monitoring these days and often stages are free from amps and cabinets. What tones are we loosing by ditching the on-stage cabs? I wanted to hear what sounds different guitars pick up on stage. and while this is FAR from a perfect demonstration (drums, bass, etc missing) it gives insight into why a "loud" stage sounds different than a "silent" stage.
Does a VOLUME PEDAL go before or after a DELAY PEDAL- Hear the difference
มุมมอง 9313 ปีที่แล้ว
Creating a pedalboard for an electric guitar rig can be really fun. It is useful to know where to place certain pedals on the board to achieve the sounds you are looking for. This is a to the point video explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different volume pedal positions relative to a delay pedal in your signal chain. Personally I use my delay pedal in a "side chain" configuration w...
Sound Testing new versus old guitar strings | Hear the difference (or not)
มุมมอง 1183 ปีที่แล้ว
I've always been told that new guitar strings sound better that older strings, in this video I put my assumption to a simple test using D'Addario NYXL strings and a Gibson Les Paul Classic. To my surprise the difference, tone wise, is less noticeable than I would have believed. Of course I'm still not going to switch my habit of changing strings religiously when a guitar is in active rotation. ...

Hear the Difference - How guitar picks change your tone
มุมมอง 7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
It's time to slit some hairs in search of that perfect guitar tone. Break out some headphones because this video will test your ears to hear the difference between different guitar picks playing the same riff. But that's not the case with some picks including this HERCO FLEX 75: amzn.to/3hjTbW3 Using the grip side of this pick against the strings will add a little grit to the attack of your not...

Building a tremolo block for a Floyd Rose Bridge to make setup easier.
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I love my PRS SE custom 24, however, since it came equipped with the Floyd Rose tremolo system, I can't easily change tunings or set the action. In this video I built a tremolo block which gets placed into the back of the guitar to hold the bridge in place while setting up the guitar. You can also leave the block in if you don't wish to use the tremolo system while playing. If you are a little ...

Balanced and Unbalanced Outputs - What is the difference?
มุมมอง 22K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Hear the difference between a balanced output and an unbalanced output. I demonstrate the difference in my studio by recording the same guitar riff using a normal TS instrument cable (TS = Tip, Sleeve) and a TRS cable (TRS = Tip, Ring, Sleeve). The result highlights the amount of noise which even a short, unbalanced cable run can introduce into your recordings.

How does microphone position change the sound of your amp
มุมมอง 784 ปีที่แล้ว
This video will give the viewer a better idea of how changing mic position will change the sound of their guitar cabinet in the mix. I run an experiment on how different microphone positions impact guitar tone. I change the left-right position, distance from the cabinet, and angle of a dynamic microphone while keeping everything else constant. The differences in sound are astonishing; I think I...

The picks Edge uses - Herdim Blues - have a way bigger grip section than a Herco, meaning way more scratchiness and chime. I remember when I got a pack last year and went to play Where The Streets Have No Name, and I once I got used to the extra resistance may have began floating because that is *exactly* the sound.

What amazes me is why so many guitarists use unbalanced cables. I have balanced and unbalanced ones, and my balanced cables gives less amplifier hum at comparable high volume levels. So for me I definitely prefer using my balanced cables for my electric guitars.

Your right hand is way off on the verse, especially here at 4:45. Not tying to be a jerk, its just wrong and you're showing people how to play the song. Its incorrect in other areas as well. The way you play it sounds like the result of someone who learned how to play it from youtube..... from a guy who teaches it incorrectly. Not being a wise guy just being critical, this is a great song and deserves more.

Question... Im getting the Aeros loop pedal that has L and R INPUTS and OUTPUTS, so would run TRS L and R OUTPUTS from synth into my L and R INPUTS into my loop pedal? Then TRS L and R OUTPUTS from my loop pedal into my mixer (2 separate channels)? Im asking bc i dont know if i should use TR or TRS cables... I also dont know if they make Cable that has 2 TRS into one cable to use one channel on the mixer... I cant find any info anywhere or i may be overthinking this... Please help!!!
