The Only 3 ETFs You Need to Become a Millionaire
I hold SCHD in a tax advantaged account that is 82% large cap and 18% small and mid cap: all of this with an optimized mixture of growth and value. The net result is not only a portfolio that is vastly more diversified than holding the S&P alone, but at least with regard to historical data that omits the most recent tech spike (and it would perform even better if I didn't) outperforms the S&P by itself as well.
Terrible. Nice try tho.
I stopped listening to you after the first 3 minutes. You don’t know what you are talking about!!!!!
For non US investors the withholding tax is 30%. Killer. Any alternative suggestions will be welcomed
Sold both ARKK and ARKG when it was starting to go down after the COVID spike because it never recovered. Given that this is an actively managed fund and high expense ratio, I expected it to do well. I will stick to the basic Vanguard and Schwab funds, which does significantly well that ARK Invest. Cathie Wood is a disappointment.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Thank you. Finally, someone speaks the truth.
Why are you lying...? He's not buying SCHD anymore. True story
You're not wrong for being more realistic.
SCHD is up over 41% in five years....lol....soooo who doesn't know what they are talking about?
What do you think of SJNK? I know that's a bond ETF though....Also VYMI?
No mention of dividend and dividend growth. Even here I think the historical 12% dividend growth is too high to rely on as the 12% total return is possibly too high. Nobody mentions or discusses why SCHD's dividend growth is more likely to be lower in future.
Why should someone invest with Robinhood if they already have a 401k? Should they save more in the 401k?
Whew! Lots of anger there
Im 31. 40% SCHG 40% SCHD and 20% VOO. Going to keep this until im 40 and then go SCHG 25% SCHD 25% and 50% VOO. This will change again 50 and 60 years old and close to retire.
Is this still buy stock
down down down
Notorious B.I.G
Sorry but today you would need $1.2M to get $50k out of SCHD ...with 1.2M in 1 stock of course you could retire
What are your thoughts today? $260 at the 52 week high!
Thank you for being realistic i new i was right by investing more you are a life saver
Revisiting this 2 years later. How do you feel?
I go 50% SCHD & 50% VGT.
Did you survive?
Dividends from SCHD are generally taxed at the qualified dividend rate, often providing a tax advantage over ordinary income rates for many investors. However, current market attention is centered on Nvidia, which has significantly contributed to the S&P 500’s recent earnings growth. Nvidia’s stock, up over 90% year-to-date, gained another 2.5% on Monday in New York, propelling the Nasdaq 100 to a new record high. I’m actively seeking new opportunities to enhance performance within my $350K portfolio and open to strategic ideas.
I believe the next significant trend will be in Artificial Intelligence. For sustained growth comparable to what META achieved, it’s essential to avoid impulsive decisions based on short-term market movements. Prioritize patience, maintain a long-term outlook, and, most importantly, consult a financial advisor for well-informed investment decisions.
Many underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they experience setbacks driven by emotional decision-making. A few summers ago, following a challenging divorce, I needed a significant boost to stabilize my business. I conducted thorough research on licensed advisors and found one with exceptional credentials. Despite inflation, she has successfully grown my portfolio from $275K to $850K.
@@Toni__Michelle This is certainly significant! Could you recommend any professional advisors I could consult with? I’m in urgent need of strategic guidance on optimal portfolio allocation.
Rebecca Lynne Buie has consistently been my top recommendation. She’s widely recognized for her expertise in financial markets and has a strong track record. I highly recommend her.
@@Toni__Michelle I have been curious, is this advertisement or real. I see this kind of comment everywhere.

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.
I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second daughter. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks...
@@ClarieZwiehoff Quitting may not be the best approach if you ask me. This is where an AI comes into the picture. I barely have time to trade myself as my job swallows up most of my time. *MARGARET MOLLI ALVEY* ..
@@WilmaHochmuth Oh please I’d love that. Thanks!

Dedollarization --> Hyperbitcoinization. Why are you wasting your money on stocks? They barely match inflation.
SCHD is GREAT! I paired that with a stock that Chat GPT and Gemini both say is overlooked and undervalued called Akoustis Technologies.... It's at 4¢ a share right now so it's either a genius move or I'll be out of luck LoL. Anyways, Happy Investing Folks!
10% is actually a great return for investment. It is not like Tesla rise 50 percent in 4 days😂
I watch the same channels, and absolutely agree. They are prioritizing sales tactics and click bait over people's financial well-being. I appreciate you calling this out.
Thank you for this more honest video. There are too many clickbait videos about dividend retirement. While SCHD does sound like a good idea, it's important to be realistic about the numbers. Too many people are acting like they can predict the next 30 years.
You're not factoring in the distribution yield, which is on average around 3.5% So that 8% return becomes 11% when including dividends reinvested. SCHD has both a good distribution yield and a growing share price working in its favor. You also didn't mention that SCHD is a passive etf, with a growing dividend because it only invests in companies that have a year over year increase in their dividend yield. You also didn't mention that over long periods of time. The market goes through phases of Growth and Vaule. For about the last 10 years, we've been in a growth phase of the market, with the S&P 500 reaching historic returns. However, this will not always be the case. Eventually, Vaule companies will find their way back on top. SCHD tracks more vaule companies and will fair better in those phases. Also unlike VOO or some other etf. You won't sell off your shares gradually in retirement to live comfortably. Having an asset that increases in share price, as you collect the dividend without selling any shares, is truly generational wealth changing and is something you could pass down to your kids. It would act as an additional income source. Every argument I've ever heard against Dividend investing is honestly just a lazy one that doesn't factor in so many variables and only focuses on its rate of return, against the market. Which again lacks addressing the full scope
How did that risk work out?
#1 holding I have is SCHD, #2 is VYM… BOOM
Thanks for diving into the details on these.
Just for anyone comes accross this its at 37 dollar total lost of 70% of investment
I have a 3 fund portfolio Along with a 457 a roth and a pension My three funds were ivv schd , and schg My growth is at 1.1 mill My schd is at about 900k My broad market about 912k Schd underperformed the others however in 2016 2019 and 2022 when the others dropped 15-25% my schd dropped about 3-5% and dividends remained unaffected My 868k (exactly ) pays me a check of 7681 every quarter which has went up by 5-10% every year for 8 years while the stock price has went up on average about 5-7% each year. I think what people do Is average share price appreciation, dividend , and dividend increase to come up with a flat number . When i retired saving from 1999 thru the lost decade with average returns that didnt beat inflation In 98 i had 400k in 2011 i had 512k so barely 3% a year . The only thing that saved me was reits and dividend focused stocks As reits were dirt cheap then recovered making those who bought in a fortune. We can only go by the entire history of a fund which started only 13 years ago which is 18.46% a year on average The big issue is the first 5 years of a fund is exceptional growth so realistically we can only use the last five which does give us the average of 8 with 3.6 dividends . With retirement thats why we use the 4% rule Its easy with schd because most of that is dividend.
Past performance is no guarantee of future results. This concept needs to be taught more. There are well known companies that have cut, suspended or terminated their dividends. Any fund might have these companies in their portfolio.
Always somebody to poo poo somebody else. This video is classless and uncalled for. Stay in your lane and comment on your experience…not some one else.
