Well it was a bit complicated lol… in short, the only way Austria could invade Spain is by air attacks. If you look closely at Catalonia at the start, you can see some large bombs dropping, but this would anger Italy and Germany because of NATO. Full explanation: Austria has no navy (although it is unlikely they would be able to launch somewhere anyway) and France/Italy would not let their army pass through because of NATO. Therefore they have to use the Austrian Air Force, however would need to go to over Italy/France without it being shot down (so unlikely) Even if they did this and declared war on Spain it may happen that Germany and Italy (the two main NATO powers bordering Austria would seize Austria (If they continued attacks) Once Austria is gone, they may keep the land or set up a new Austria. So basically, this scenario is never going to happen for a few reasons including Spain has a better military than Austria and attacking a NATO country never ends well.
