I got that same reel, well the combo. The rod is a 7' 3" MH and I've got 25 or 30 lb braid on it. Not much gets stuck in the lilly pads with that one lol
Yeah I bought it as a combo but I broke the rod when a spider ended up on the same hand that was holding it.

Growing up I was taught they're a "trash fish" cause I guess they're terrible for eating. As an adult I love catching them and do my best to help them thrive. Such a fun catch and I've never caught a baby one.
