Tar is a modern day Masterpiece Todd & Cate were ROBBED @Oscars
Despite all the official honors bestowed on the men and women who served the country in the military, there are egregious shortcomings when it deals with veterans who have suffered because of their service. I visited a veteran at the VA Hospital and was shocked that he was situated in a crowded ward with 10 beds in it. There was just barely enough room for someone to walk between those beds. Basically people are expendable when it comes to the needs of the military-industrial war machine.
Iron fist
Shut the F up and get on with it assshole.
well in the film Gilbert met the Sanderson sisters for the very first time and he told them when he was a kid lots of big kids stole his candy and he saw Winifred Mary and Sarah Sanderson turn to dust when the sun came up
Broderick, Denzel, Cary Ewles and dude from Brooklyn 99 were great. Morgan Freeman was the weak link....loooooook closely🧐
Really ??? You have to assemble a team of people to break down this movie ??? If it takes four of ya to analyze this movie !!!! You people are bumb ass F$$k !!!
I guess I'm used to reviews like this being done to a high standard. Weird to see this
Every movie this director does has little boys with their shirts off . Also he used rap music in the movie that wasn't on par with 1993. They forgot about Dre came out in 2000 which they play in the movie. I honestly don't know if some of the actors were underage because there was a lot of graphic sex scenes and Marty's girlfriend slept naked? I didn't understand the point of showing that was.

I was 14 when I saw this and watched it because I developed a celebrity crush on Edie Brickell from seeing the "Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" from seeing the video on regular rotation on MTV. This movie changed my life. It forever sensitized me to the fake, care-free violence and propaganda we see regularly in Hollywood action & war films. This is the whole painful story of one soldier's experience before, during and after and not just a few moments of glossy battlefield glory. Tom Cruise did an amazing job in this role and that's saying a lot from me because I can't stand the guy in anything else he's done.
Kevin was his cousin, the bearded guy gets it maybe somewhat lived the coulture, the other guys not so much.
baby nitpicking. Nothing honest just whing about things no one would care about.
50:17 In the book "Does Anyone Deserve to Die?' by Jim Schutze, it is stated that Alice Jean Slay was, in fact, married to Michael Willis, a classmate of hers, for two months in early 1993.
I kinda think that the gratuitous aspect is meant to show how stupid and gratuitous that people who would go kill someone cuz their cousins friend said so. How more gratuitous can you get than that
I first saw Kids when I was 14...I first watched this movie, showing up at my buddies after closing down the strip club. Was 21 then so...yea, brought 2 strippers home and that movie was on
They were all dumb shits who had no idea what was going on cuz they were too busy wanting to be dumbshits
Looking at every picture of Bobby Kent and, he looks like Aaron Hernandez
I actually really enjoyed this film as a film noir Christmas movie and I have put it in regular Christmas rotation. It was an interesting take on the Santa Claus story, and Mel played it beautifully. The sadness, the reluctance, the reality of the world we live in. I remember seeing where someone else posted somewhere, "He's not the Santa we want, he's the Santa we need." Walton Goggins played the Ghou....erm...Jonathan Miller brilliantly as well. I'd love to see a second one.
And now, Joe, Jill, and Hunter are anxiously waiting for their golden parachute.
This is why yall aren’t getting views on here it’s because Adam Sandler is an amazing actor and all his comedy movies were amazing even with all you haters always talking about him in a negative way
I mean, they're not mindless killers; they're thinking beings you can reason with
Why don't you three make a go fun me, and make a knock off and see if you can do better? Oh wait that would require not sitting and complaining right?
I took the trench coat as city people in these films bring the city with them.
Kirk Douglas was an aggressive actor while Robert Mitchum was a reactive actor.
Interesting take on the dialog, my favorite part! I’ve always thought it came from radio of the time, the aggressive banter, running gags and promoting cigarettes.
One of my go to movies when I can't find anything to watch. 😁Awesome Movie
nah, it's pretty much a game, where you have to complete the configuration in order to "win", they know exactly what they are doing.
Guys, go back to homeplate, pizza-wise. I’ve had with anchovies! Most places just don’t offer the possibility.
If you think the melodramatic music is bad in this movie, you ought to watch an episode of the TV series "The FBI". There is non-stop loud "music" that makes it totally unwatchable. My wife loves that show, even watching reruns on cable, but I do something else when she watches it.
How is this not recognized for what’s it’s done ??!
This movie kills me -thanks for recognizing it’s impact
It's amazing how 4 bros can just absolutely ruin a movie. Did you even watch the goddamn fucking movie?! You thought he was campus police? Did you watch the fucking God damn movie?! It's clearly stated multiple times that he's a Bloomington Police officer you fucking morons. Fucking beard bros. Go suck Joe rogan's dick
huh?
Wait, what? Her wife wasn't her wife?????? No way!
I thought the Matthew Lillard character was not realistic. I am sure there are jerks in front office, but he was just unprofessional.
I think Rowan is a hater of something, cause this is NOT a BAD movie at all
Donde lo pasan
I think basically is a film you have to watch more than once to understand what’s happening, I enjoyed the film and I’ve seen it multiple times and each time I watch the film I get more out of it, and more understanding of the correlation of the characters in the film in relationship to Lydia. I will have to watch it again to get some comprehension of the drain sequences that keep occurring. But I love this movie.
I think this channel would benefit from not having the guy in the top right tbh
I've ordered pizza with anchovies...
This movie so perfect a bit too dark but i like it what a masterpiece
I disagree, I thought he conveyed his emotions really well.
It's not a "sports movie". The biking is incidental to the other story lines of growing up, friendship, father/son relations, socioeconomic class differences and romance. As you noted, it won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
It can be all of that and still a sports movie. Your comment reads like sports and other themes, or sports and quality, for that matter, are incompatible. Rocky won an Oscar for Best Screenplay too. You gonna tell me it's NOT a boxing movie? Because it has themes? The sport in Breaking Away is not incidental, it's instrumental. This is my favorite sports movie :)
I gotta disagree about True Grit….The 1969 Wayne Film was definitely tailored for John to be “ John Wayne” the way he approaches the role of Rooster Cogburn is very much like a typical western hero. The 2010 remake features Jeff Bridges inhabiting the role almost from point of view of a homeless man or real mangy vagabond even though he is a federal officer and is not homeless at all. Jeff Bridges portrayal of Rooster Cogburn is much true to life of what an 1880’s US Marshal would look, sound, act like.
I played Conrad (Rosanna Arquette's husband) who gets killed.
Surprised this had no comments before me but I enjoyed your collective thoughts on one of my favorite JW movies. One point on the comments regarding casting choices and Catherine Hepburn being in a lot of JW movies. She wasn’t, she was only in Rooster Cogburn. I think you were thinking of Maureen O’Hara who was in several excellent JW movies and is recognized as a fan favorite leading lady of his. They had great chemistry but I think Lauren Bacall was an excellent choice for this character and screenplay.
Nancy Allen was fantastic in this film. She was nominated for a Razzie but didn't win. But, that same year the Razzies nominated Shelley Duvall for The Shining. So take it for what it is.
